We had been wanting to try this place out, and finally made it in here. We arrived here at about 6:30 pm and they were moderately busy. They seated us immediately and were quick to get our drink orders. As we looked over the menu my fiance remembered having the Molcajete Villa Fiesta once and told us all how good it was. This is a dish that they say serves 2, but by the time you factor in chips and salsa it will actually feed 4 (we took some home also). What is it, great question! A carved lava rock filled with steak, chicken, pork, shrimp and chorizo with grilled onions, jalapeno toreados, cheese and ranchera sauce. Served with tortillas. The dish itself was really good and probably worthy of 4 stars for the overall flavor and presentation. 5 stars for the value and quantity. 3 stars for the accessibility (ease of digging around to get food out of the lava rock). Really the main deduct, unfortunately, comes from the service. Once our order was in we had to hunt down our server to get drink refills, chip refills, additional salsa. Also, once we were done getting the check took forever. Note, unlike the other reviews, it wasn't rude service, our server was nice, it was just not very good. If they could work out the service issues this could very easily become a go-to Mexican restaurant for me. read more

I was browsing yelp looking for some lunch ideas when I saw all the bad reviews here for Villa Fiesta and was pretty shocked. I eat here about once a week and if there's one thing I can say for the place, it's the most consistent non-chain restaurant around as far as quality, taste, and service go. I love coming here because I really like the food and the fast convenient service. Typically we have our food on the table 5 minutes after we order, and you can't beat that. I have never waited more than 10 minutes for my food here. The servers are never rude to me, though some of them don't seem all that comfortable with their English skills, so they don't engage in a lot of small talk, which I actually prefer. I don't go to a restaurant because I'm looking to make a new best friend, I'm there to eat and get on down the road. The food I order is always consistently good. I love the salsa, cheese dip, and the chips - they are far and away the best in town. El Tap runs a close second, but they are slow to serve so I don't typically go there. I love the lunch special #1, which they are more than happy to customize to your preferences, I usually get the shredded chicken soft taco instead of the crunchy beef taco, but that's because 1) the chicken taco is all white meat with fewer calories and 2) you have to eat the crunchy tacos fast or they fall apart, and I am a slow eater. You also get a full sized guac salad, rice or beans, plus a lovely large cheese stuffed poblano pepper which they always do just right. The Burrito Villa Fiesta is another fantastic lunch choice: a huge burrito with ground beef or shredded chicken topped with salad and served with rice and beans. I always ask to sub the enchilada sauce for the burrito sauce because I just love it, but I can't eat the entire order of any of the enchilada plates, they all come with too much food for me, but all of the enchiladas are fantastic. The pork carnitas burrito topped with slices of avocado is another favorite of mine and if you love avocados you won't be disappointed with the generous pile of slices that come on this plate. The taco salads here are also great, but I warn you, they aren't very salad-y. I usually ask for extra lettuce to go with my salad, but if you love cheese dip you will love these salads! Lastly, Villa Fiesta has a pretty incredible collection of hot sauces on hand, but since Covid began they have put them all in back - super responsible choice, btw - so you have to ask for them. If you feel like the food here isn't flavorful enough I'd say, why don't you make it that way! I'm not a fan of boring food either, but hey, it's Gadsden, and that's what most people here like. I find their beef to be very well seasoned and, as I mentioned earlier, love adding the enchilada sauce to pretty much anything. I like tossing some Valentino sauce on to the tacos for a nice punch and they always keep it in stock. So, that's my two cents on this place. If you want good quality food served fast at a reasonable price you should try this place. read more

The inside has that authentic look of a Mexican restaurant. My dish was Street tacos. Presentation was nice. My pico de gallo was missing the diced tomatoes which would have given the white onions, cilantro and lime wedges that completeness I was hoping for.The steak was diced too fine and a bit dry, but over all the meal was good with the corn tortillas. We checked the reviews before we went there. We were prepared for a place with ok foods but a bad service. However, we were happy with everything! The foods are good and cheap. We were served with 3 servings of chips. The people were nice. It also has a 99/100 health rating score on the wall. Our bill was only $35...including 4 beers. My parents and sister came down from up north to visit my other, southern sister and my family, including my southern son. He just got himself a firefighter's job and had settled into a nice new apartment in the area. He wanted to show us his new places of domicile and toil. He was dealing with some pretty dang proud relatives. He's firmly removed himself from the Worry List. Nice job, dude!! We'd been planning to see it all, then drop him at his home, then head back to Huntsville for a nice dinner at a nice restaurant. There are a bunch of good ones there, and no too many in the Gadsden area. But, really, how could we do that? "Great job, son. We're heading back. Do you have a box of mac 'n cheese you can make for yourself? Oh, good. See you!" Nah, that's cold. So we ached over the slim offerings in Yelp. Not much there. Called a friend. Logan's Roadhouse? That's the best there is? The choices are so crappy in Gadsden that there's a restaurant called something like, "Let's Just Eat Here". (My son says there are better places.) So we tried this place. It turns out that it's pretty good. Great? Nah. Some items were very good, some mediocre. But on average quite good and an outstanding value. The chips were crunchy and the salsa was simple but tasty. My special poblano pepper stuffed with shrimp and mushrooms covered with thin charred skirt steak was delicious, filling and only $9. My wife says her bean burrito and cheese enchilada were soggy and soupy, but the beans were good. My dad's camarones and cheese sauce special was fine. The broccoli must have been on sale because there was a lot of it, but it was nicely grilled broccoli, so all was good with the world. The plain taco salad made my mom happy. The chicken burrito especial was just OK, according to my sister. A couple more veggies would have made it better, we think, but was delivered just as represented on the menu, so no surprise about the absence of plant matter. But at $70 with tip to feed seven people well , this restaurant was well worth the stop. Not to mention good service and an attractive and clean, if loud, store. Easy parking, easy to find (right next to Logan's). Nice to see there's someplace good in the Gadsden area and that we don't have to settle for "Let's just eat here." Go there. read more

I went to have lunch here today, it was probably the first time I had been in this restaurant in about 2 years. It was not as I remembered from the last time I was there. I ordered chicken fajitas, while I waited I had chips and salsa, and queso, all of which was decent..... However, when I received my food it lacked flavor all together and the chicken was so dry I could not eat it. I am not sure what happened to Vila Fiesta, but they will not have my business ever again. read more

After eating here several times while playing trivia, I feel like I have a good handle on it. The sweet tea is really good and the salsa is more on the mild side but is satisfying. Out of all the meals I have had, the fiesta burger is the most impressive. I was very skeptical about getting a burger at a Mexican restaurant, but this was not any burger. It is a humongous fresh homemade patty mixed with diced tomatoes, bell pepper, and cilantro. Then it is topped with bacon, pepper jack cheese, and a creamy cole slaw. My 2nd favorite dish is the flaming cheese. Think of fajitas covered with melted cheese. The combination plates with burritos and enchiladas are pretty good too as they come with just meat and sauce. Chile relleno is also humongous. The one thing that I've had that was just awful was the quesadilla rellena. Everything else is meh. The quality of service usually depends on your waitress or waiter. There is one waitress that I have had several times that doesn't know much English is just bad in my opinion as I have found myself wanting something several times and not seeing her again for another 10 minutes. On the other hand, I've had a waiter and another waitress that both did an excellent job. Villa Fiesta has some good things for a Mexican restaurant, and most of the time I have been pleased. But I have also had more than enough frustrating moments with either the service or my choice of meal. read more

Such a beautiful day for a trip to Gadsden and such a fun looking place from the outside. Unfortunately the fun stopped once we went inside. The food was absolutely unremarkable. It wasn't exactly offensive and it didn't taste horrible; it was just ok and really lacked flavor. The tortilla chips were over cooked and the salsa was just blended tomatoes. I tend to prefer my food with flavor, particularly Mexican food, and this just wasn't good. Our waitress was 100% wishing she was somewhere else and her lack of enthusiasm was contagious, but she did bring the food out quickly. It was hot and looked delicious but everything tasted like plain oatmeal. Refried beans? Oatmeal. Rice? Oatmeal. My Enchiladas Supremas? Oatmeal with cheese and lettuce sprinkled on top. If you're in the mood for Mexican food but what you really want is oatmeal? I've got a place for you. read more

It was like they were having the Spanish-American war. It took very long for a refill on my drink. Have been here many times and food is usually passable, but service made up for it. Not tonight! Don't know if it was an especially off night, but the whole experience was terrible! Chips were stale and inedible and had to be sent back twice. Later, we were told that something was wrong with the fryer. Entrees were extremely slow to arrive and were cold and had to be sent back. On top of this, my companions told me that the women's restroom was filthy and strewn with litter. We complained about all of these issues, and heard other cistomers likewise complaining, and under the circumstances, our meal should have been comped but was not. Despite the one extraordinarily negative review we think this is a very good Mexican restaurant and is currently our favorite Mexican Restaurant in the Gadsden area. I stopped by on a Thursday a little after 8PM. I wouldn't have normally gone in so late on a weekday but the parking lot was completely full and the sign said they were open until 10. I was seated promptly and given a menu and left to wait. And wait. And wait. The music in this place is set at a level somewhere between ridiculous and unbearable and the happy mariachi music contrasts poorly with the dour wait staff. I was in a booth but at a nearby table it looked as if a group were leaving and having some difficulty in either splitting their check or coming to terms with what was on the bill. The guy who ended up being my server was there with another person working things out with them for some time. I continued to peruse the menu until he finally finished and came over and asked if I was ready to order. This was about ten to fifteen minutes after I'd been seated. I ordered chips and cheese dip (none had been brought out yet), my entree, and a drink from the bar. Though they do have an impressive bar which covers one entire wall of the restaurant, they do not stock either Tanqueray or Bombay Sapphire gin. I settled for the well and my server left me to continue my wait. After some time...maybe five minutes or so...another person showed up and made my gin and tonic then promptly disappeared after serving it. Some more wait staff came through busing tables and sweeping but no one was interested in taking care of the customers. It occurred to me at that point that these guys are hustling to clean the place so they can walk out the door at 10 and not very interested in much else. Shortly after this revelation my server appeared again with the chips and cheese as well as my entree. He apologized for the busboy (who I assume should have brought the chips) and advised that "he stops paying attention to anything after 8PM". He seemed completely unaware of the irony of his own statement as he then went off to not pay attention to me for most of the rest of my visit. The food was ok at best. The chips were greasy and slightly stale and the supposedly hot salsa I'd ordered was vaguely spicy. The cheese dip had congealed to the point that it was mostly solid by the time it arrived. The "flaming cheese" fajitas were decent, though. I had to ask for sour cream and guacamole but I wasn't charged for either so that worked itself out. The bill was around $20. I might have had another drink or two if someone had been there to take my order but, in the end, I was just happy to eat and get out of their way. I've definitely had better food and service at other places so I probably won't go back unless someone forces me to. read more

We had almost 20 managers eating at one time (company dinner) so the service was a bit slow. Literally, and I am not exaggerating in any way, this was the worst dog food equivalent I have ever tried to eat in my whole life. I suffered through the Steak Fajitas and even tried a friends Flaming Cheese Mixo in an attempt to discard the disgusting taste on my tongue, to no avail. By far the worst food I've had at any restaurant, much less Mexican. I'm not a very big fan of Mexican food in general but you can't do much to mess up a fajita plate, unless your overall food product as a whole is poor. I'd say this restaurant has poor food quality.
