Service was horrible. My wife and I arrived and were seated immediately. Nearly 15 minutes later someone finally shows up to take our drink order. By that point we knew what our food order was as well. Note; they were not busy at all when we walked in( wonder why?). Anyways, we give our order and almost 25 minutes later finally get our food. 45-50 minutes from the time you walk in until you get your food is horrible in the Mexican category. Our first visit...the only complaints I have (and they're super minor) are that it took 20 minutes to get our chips (the cheese dip was already cold) and the taco salad was on a plate that was too small. Like I said, minor. Both meals were outstanding: I had the shrimp chimichanga and my husband had shrimp fajita taco salad. Service was fine. Good quick lunch today with the wife. Just a fast in and out because we were running errands. I've eaten here before and enjoyed it. The chips and salsa are really good and the service is fast and friendly. Big menu with lots of choices and they get your food to you quickly. Their Torta Suprema has now set itself apart as the most flavorful sandwich I've yet tried. It is a "branded" torta bun with grilled steak, carnitas, chorizo, and bacon. Like Pavlov's dog, my taste buds react before I even arrive at the restaurant. A little torn on my review, they are a really solid 3 star or a light 4 star. Going to lean to the 4 star side since it's only one visit. Late night, they were still pretty packed when we came in. My girlfriend told me as soon as we were seated we needed to get the loaded queso, which comes with beef in it. Spot on with that order and to be honest that swayed me to the 4 star side of things, Creamy and perfect proportions of all the ingredients. To be honest, you could make a meal out of this if you wanted to. For my main course I went with the Chimichanga with cheese sauce on the side. Ordered with shredded beef. As with most Mexican restaurants the food was out really quickly. Slicing into my Chimichanga it was fried really well, and the beef looked good, no fat visible. But tasting it was another story, it was really bland as far as a Chimichanga goes. The cheese sauce helped, and I kind of think that they don't intend the queso on the side, as it helped to disguise the lack of overall flavor in this dish. Staff was quick and attentive and made sure that our drinks were full and brought us all the extras we asked for, quickly! Really the only thing that wasn't really good was my entrée. I would come back here again and would order the loaded queso again, and would for sure order a different dish for my entrée. read more

They should name this place Taco Bell. That's basically what this food was. I'm not sure how this place has gotten 5 star reviews to be honest. I'm from Chicago and now Mexican food well and trust me this isn't it! I ordered the vegetarian meal #2 I believe. It was refried beans in a tortilla with sauce and some cheese melted on top. A chalupa which is actually a tostada with more refried beans, lettuce, some tomato and drop of guacamole. Then there was a quesadilla the best thing on my plate. My aunt ordered the regular meal #2. I Will Not be coming back after my experience . I came in earlier to eat with my husband after a long day . This was our first time here we looked at the reviews before coming and it seemed like they had great service and a great atmosphere. When we got there we were sat down and I asked the host with the blonde piece in her hair what she recommended she gave me a dirty look and told me she wasn't my waitress and then gave me a smirk .she tossed my napkin and silverware in front of me but she laid my husband napkins and silverware beside him. I don't understand what I did for her to treat me like that . I have never felt so disrespected thank you old Mexico . This place is AWFUL. I have been here twice and both times the service was the worst service I have ever received. The waitress, Jennifer M. Was extremely rude tonight. Could not crack a smile or say a word, forgot half of what we ordered and never asked if we needed anything then just threw our check down at the end saying nothing. The worst part was she was in the corner with the rest of the staff in plain view talking while we waited for her to come get our check for about thirty minutes. We had stopped in town on the way to another location. It has a very weird location and you can only get there by driving through the gas station parking lot or from the back of their property from the hotel section. It's so weird- why are they not allowed a decent entrance??? I like the ambiance inside here and how they designed it. There are lighted metal stars in clusters everywhere. Friendly staff and our service was good. Our food was good, not outstanding. The chips really need to be replaced with a better quality. They were almost stale. But the margarita made up for it. I had a frozen one ; my husband, on the rocks. The rim salt was very fine and yummy. This was not a typical Mexican restaurant margarita that tastes like some weird neon green rocket fuel. I went in not expecting a lot to be honest. Figured it to be similar to the far to numerous chain Mexican restaurants, all of which are boring, bland and certainly nothing close to Mexican food. And yes I've been to Mexico numerous times. Well it's not really Mexican food it's a very good Americanized interpretation of Mexican food. I enjoyed it quite a bit at three tacos with three different meats & each was very good, very well presented and obviously very well prepared. I was a teetotaler tonight so I can't comment on the drinks; a good margarita would've been a great compliment to the tres tacos. Salsa was not great but was good, very good & considerably better that most. The one area of improvement that I'd recommend is with the tortilla chips - some were just a tad on the stale side & in general, came across as just generic, mass produced chips. I'll be back to try the fajitas. Or tamales. Or enchiladas. Or ... but with a margarita or three! read more
