Daniel, who checked us in, is AMAZING!! Friendly, professional and had the most wonderful suggestions for restaurants to have dinner. We chose one of his recommendations, Kokalos, which offers spectacular view of Temples, delicious food and excellent service!! Daniel put us in the best room which overlooked the garden and the view of the illuminated Temples at night was very romantic! The bed was huge and VERY comfortable! WiFi and buffet breakfast with tons of tasty selections are included! The bathroom was spacious and had a higher pressured shower than other places we've stayed. The prices are very reasonable and the proximity to the tourist areas is convenient! Salvatore and Giacomo will do their very best to ensure your needs are met. The hotel itself is unique due to its outstanding location. Right on the sea. Beautiful view and the sound of the water is soothing. The rooms are spacious and clean. They have everything you could possibly need while vacationing. The food at the little hotel restaurant was terrific. They made a fish dish special for my group that was delicious. The chef, Paolo came out to make sure everything was to our liking. The seafood was fresh, tasty and plentiful. They also serve a typical Italian breakfast in the lobby restaurant. It is not a new hotel but very comfortable and welcoming. Very friendly staff, super service all around, gorgeous room, amazing views, gorgeous golf course. Of course all the restaurants in the grounds are over priced, but that is to expect. If you are adventurer and have a vehicle I would recommend to check out the near by towns and restaurants for your meals. Overall, Great experience, from the moment you drive in to the property.

The property is beautiful and sprawling - easy and fun to explore with the inclusion of free bikes everywhere. My husband and I enjoyed riding the bikes around the winding trails across the property and using them to get from our room to the restaurants, bars, pool, and gym on property. The pool was beautiful, as was the beach. So many wonderful places to sit outside, relax, and enjoy the scenery. The gym was very large and well equipped. I do regret not taking advantage of the spa services as the entire spa/fitness complex was very serene. Service was outstanding. Ambiance was incredible. Rooms were luxurious (particularly the bathrooms!). The resort is so sprawling that no one part of it ever felt crowded. It truly felt like we had so much privacy. My only complaint is that food prices in the seafood restaurant were a little high for food that was just ok. But we thoroughly enjoyed the restaurant and patio in the main building, as well as a more casual dining option near the golf clubhouse. All in all, I wish we would have spent more of our honeymoon at Verdura. Our stay seemed far too short. Final thoughts - an excellent, romantic getaway for couples, but I suspect this place is also a family paradise in the summer months. When he saw that she was coming to the USA he told me he was signing us up for an authentic Sicilian cooking class. Ok, I'm in, that's all I knew. Well, it was so much more enjoyable then any standard cooking class. Our class was held in her friend and colleagues' home, she held other classes on her "USA tour" in other homes, restaurants and at a cooking school. While she is doing her demonstration and checking in on your preparations as you cook along with her, she is teaching you about the food, what you're using, why you're using it, the balance of flavors and the applicable history of it. During our class we first started with dessert, so the flavors have time to merge to enjoy later - Ricottamisú (similar to tiramisú but I liked this so much better!). We then made Arancini al sugo (ragu filled), and the entrata of Falsomagro (False Skinny) (like a braciola, made with Veal). All of these dishes and ingredients used to make them are familiar, but these specific recipe styles I never tried before; some ingredients I may also not have thought to use with the other. Everything was phenomenal! Not only is Annalisa an incredible cook and teacher, she is so sweet and friendly. You feel like family with Annalisa. Viva Famiglia! This was even more special to us because part of my Sicilian heritage comes from Favara! - Favara is where Annalisa is from and located. There is also a very real possibility that she is my distant family / cousin as her last name has long since been rumored to be in my family line somewhere. To learn Sicilian style cooking of that region and that town brings us so much closer to our roots. I cannot wait to finally plan a trip to see the towns my family came from, and now I have a personal connection there to see and cook with again! I'm also excited to learn of the Almond, Museum, Winery and Olive Oil tours she will take you on! GoSicily is a MUST on your Sicilian agenda!

I recently booked two rooms at this hotel and, unfortunately, my experience was far from what I had…read morehoped for. I booked the presidential suite room 201, and was extremely let down upon arrival. The room was outdated, showing signs of wear and tear that suggested it hadn't been remodeled in decades. For the hefty price of $2,400 a night, I expected a much more luxurious and not dated room. My other room 101 was actually nicer and 1/2 the price. After expressing my concerns, the staff did offer me a different room 105 that had been remodeled, although it was not a suite. While I appreciated the effort, it was disappointing to have to downgrade when I had specifically booked a suite for that price. They mentioned they would speak to the booking agency regarding the price difference or possibly cover my dinner as compensation. However, at the end of my stay, I was surprised to find that nothing was taken off my bill. The hotel is situated in an amazing location. However, the outdated rooms and the lack of care from the staff left much to be desired. I felt that the staff didn't prioritize guest satisfaction, which really detracted from the overall stay. Overall, I cannot recommend this hotel unless significant changes are made to both the accommodations and the level of service. It's a shame, as this place has so much potential in such a prime location. Knowing other real luxury resorts are near the area we will just stay there next year.

Their restaurant is amazing and the food is great. 5 stars for the service, beds, and especially the towels, some of the best towels I've ever used. The missing 5th star is because of the noise in the room. You can hear other sounds from surrounding guests, talking, showers, toilets flushing etc. It's a 200 year old building so perfection in this area can't be expected, just thought it was worth mentioning.

There was no place to sit comfortably- save a table with chairs and a single bed pressed against the wall. No carpets or rugs on the brick cement floor to protect from the cold. A small bathroom without a stopper for the sink, a nice shower with plenty of hot water though. No tissues anywhere. Our towels were not replaced the next day but hung up by the shower- I put them outside to dry in the sun but skipped the shower as it was too cold in the room. The breakfast was nice, eggs were made to order and the croissants were authentic. We did have dinner our first night where all the guests sat at one table. The guests were interesting but the food was not- so salty we could not eat it- and it took almost 4 hours to serve. My husband left at 10 and I left at 10:30 before dessert was served!
