We stayed here for two nights this past weekend, and really couldn't have been much happier. The place is well-furnished and clean, comfortable bed, delicious wine, the views might literally be the best of any place I've ever woken up... really they're doing everything right. There was only one minor hiccup: one time the gate into the vineyards wouldn't open for some reason. This isn't even something the owners have control over (they don't own that gate), but Gil was very quick to respond and immediately came and helped us get the gate open from the other side. To me, it's inevitable that small things like this won't be perfect, but how you handle it is more important than it not happening in the first place. If I ever return to the area, I 100% will be staying here again. read more

How SWEET it is!!!!! This is THE ultimate winery casita experience. The luxurious amenities and grounds and the wine from Villa Vallecito combine to make a truly amazing experience. I'm very late in writing a review for Villa Vallecito Vineyard's Mi Compania Dulce guest house, but the fact that I still vividly remember how lovely it was, nearly a year later, might tell you something about the place! My sweetie treated me to a stay in the guest house last December for my birthday. The house is utterly charming, beautifully decorated, and has a stellar view looking west. The owner, Ghee, was out of town but was friendly on the phone and via email, very helpful and responsive. Every question I had she got right on. The heater was a little noisy during the very quiet nights, which she assured me she would have looked at. That is a tiny quibble, really; I'd prefer to have overlooked it, if the heater wasn't so close to the bedroom and the nights so utterly silent! We loved our time gazing at the amazing sunsets over the lake and foothills. We had the place to ourselves, other than the vineyard's winemaker, who lives just down the hill and was also just wonderful. He took great care of us. We were able to spend several delightful sessions in the hot tub on the edge of the cliff overlooking the lake. I think that was my favorite hot tub I've ever been in, not least because it's in such a secluded spot. Speaking of the villa's winemaker, his wines blew our socks off, as did his knowledge and passion for his craft. Be sure to taste everything you can! Highly recommended, all around. read more

This is the second time my boyfriend and I have been lucky enough to stay here. The Casita is amazing, just like the views of the lake and vineyards. It has everything you need! We decided to stay in the first night and cook our own dinner, my boyfriend BBQ'd steaks and I utilized the full kitchen. If you're looking for a quiet getaway, this is the best place for it! Not to mention the amazing views of the stars at night. Make sure you go into Murphy's and go to the owners tasting room. Their wine is AMAZING. I can't wait to go back! read more

The reviews on Yelp of the casita are spot on. The location was ideal for our daughter's wedding and guest list of 50. The setting and grounds suited us well. We have a significant complaint. Many weeks after the contract was signed and two weeks before the event, the owner made a last minute demand. She determined that the initial arrangement for parking and transportation was null and void. Our daughter was told that she must hire a shuttle service to pick guests up from their lodging in the area. It was unprofessional and sttessful to add this requirement at such a late date. We understood the owner's rationale, but accommodating this demand with short notice made hectic wedding arrangements even more challenging. read more

I enjoyed a wonderful and relaxing girl weekend at the Casita. This was the perfect spot to relax and catch up with an old friend. If you are looking for a unique experience that cannot be created at a hotel or bed and breakfast this is the spot. Stunning lake and vineyard views in every direction, with access to a beautiful hilltop pool - what more do you need! The hospitality from the owner and local wine also exceeded my expectations. We came for a birthday weekend and ending up having a second honeymoon! We drove to Yosemite, Big Trees Park, Murphys and Angels Camp. The sites were breath taking and the food was fabulous but we always looked forward to returning to Mi Compania Dulce. The view there was equally breath taking and the accomodations were 5 star! Mi Compania Dulce is an oasis and we will deifinitely be back. I also want to do a girls weekend trip with my sisters in the near future! read more

During our recent south to north trip from Sequoia NP to Lake Tahoe/Reno, we happened to secure a two night stay at Mi Compania Dulce - surrounded on all sides by the Villa Vallecito Vineyards. The setting is absolutely stunning, with views of the New Melones Lake on one side and vineyard rows on the other sides. The setting is beyond peaceful and is very relaxing. The wine tasting rooms in downtown Murphys are very close and the Amador County wine country is just a one hour drive north. We were treated to the second-ever private wine tasting at the winery below and the wines are exceptional - at this time a Viognier and a Barbara, due for release soon. The owner was available by phone and offered much help with things to do in the area. The next time we are in the area, we will surely book a stay here if at all possible, and will highly recommend it to our friends in Sacramento and the San Francisco Bay area. read more
