Night to Shine is an unforgettable worldwide celebration event, centered on God's love, honoring and valuing people with special needs... until all are celebrated! Once again, we came together as a community to celebrate Night to Shine event on February 6th. I had the honored to be part of this amazing event. During the night we were running low on materials, by the grace of God miraculously we had exactly what we needed to make 95 corsages and boutonnières. All 35 corsages and 65 boutonnières were made in 3. 5 hours. The volunteers are amazing with no previous experience at all. I am always amazed how much love, care and humankind these volunteers give unconditionally.

The members of New Hope Church are some of the sweetest, friendliest people you will ever meet. Every Sunday, the atmosphere is so warm and welcoming. I've invited family and friends over the years to attend the Sunday celebration service and by the end of it, they always tell me how much they enjoyed the experience and the people. Pastor Roge's teachings are always so relatable and he really strives to make the Word of God accessible for everyone, whatever stage you are in your Christianity! Pastor Diane is phenomenal as well, and her teachings just take your relationship with God to the next level. All I can say is if you're on the fence about coming to the Sunday service, just try it out once so you can experience it for yourself! New Hope Church recently started to hold two services on Sunday: 9:00 AM and 11:00 AM. We live in society filled with abundance of choices when it comes to churches. Honestly, it could…read morebe a bit overwhelming and scary. You see, we are living in times of uncertainty and deception. Jesus tells us in Matthew 24:4, "Watch out that no one deceives you." The Bible warns us of the possibility of this happening. Before I set out on my journey, I prayed for God's guidance. I asked Him to direct me to a church with a strong Biblical foundation. Well, God answered my prayers. It has been a year since I started going to Calvary Chapel Burbank (CCB). Pastor Tim is truly a man of God. His wife, Laura, is the example of Proverbs 31:10-31. And, let me tell you, Pastor Tim teaches right out of the Bible one chapter at a time. This has strengthened my growth, increased my knowledge, and in turn, has allowed me to question the validity of those who teach God's Word. The Bible does tell us, "Dear friends, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits to see if they are from God, because many false prophets have gone out into the world." 1 John 4:1 CSB. The only way to test the spirits is by knowing God's Word. If you got this far, I'd like to peak your interest with a couple of my favorites from Pastor Tim's teachings. One was on Matthew 1:1-17 and another on Philemon. Yes, Philemon, a one chapter book in the New Testament which was unfamiliar to me. Matthew, chapter 1 which is a bibliography. Although every chapter in God's Word is important, how do you make its importance so intriguing? Well, somehow, Pastor Tim managed it, both times. I challenge you to go onto the CCB website, click on archives, click on Sundays, and watch for yourself. I also welcome you to come out to service on Sundays. There's an 830 am service for early birds like me and a 10:30 am service if you're not.
