I was on a trip from the US (California) to the UK and my coworker took me to the Village Fish Bar. What a fantastic place to get fish and chips!
To be clear, this is not a sit down place where you dine on the catch of the day and the wait staff refill your drink whenever you take a sip. If you're looking for one of those places, this isn't it, but you'll be missing some awesome fish and chips. This place is small, you watch them cook your food, and there's a long line of regular customers waiting to place their order. If you really, really want to sit down and eat, there's one table on the sidewalk, but you'll be surrounded by customers waiting to order, so you may have some chips stolen from your plate by the more hungry customers. Overall, the fish was unbelievably good, the serving size was very generous, and the prices were extremely affordable. Whenever I'm in the area, I will visit the Village Fish Bar again. read more
