It is clean, and can be quite crowded because it is difficult to find such a nice and well stocked gift/collectible shop. The owner is a nice man but a bit gruff. He has his process and he sticks to it. One thing at a time and the boxes for items are all located in a back stock room so it can take him some time for each person and each item. His son was so welcoming and so nice! We were there awhile so he brought us small bits of candy to try and then brought us chairs as we were there past closing. An awesome host!! A great counter-balance to his father. When I left, I found that the father/owner had given us a full size Ritter (German chocolate bar) as a thank you. I only wish that the shop had more customer friendly hours ... as with many small towns and shops in them, they closed at 5 on Saturday and then were closed on Sunday and for holidays.

I went to the Riverside Thrift Shop today. Apparently, it opened only a few months ago. Being fresh and new, by all rights, they should be totally on top of their game. 1) The main problem is it's too darn small. It's little more than one small narrow room. (I think my living room at home is bigger than this store!) As a result, there isn't much inventory...mostly garage sale type stuff...not enough to pick through and find something you might like. There's a HUGE warehouse in back of this building. If THAT was part of the store and filled with stuff too, you'd really have something great. But that's not the case. 2) The dude running the shop ignored us, never smiled, never spoke, and he was completely devoid of any customer service skills whatsoever. Not cool. This definitely sealed the deal and made me not want to ever walk through the door again. There always seems to be at least one crazy person shopping at every thrift store I go to, even a super small one like Riverside. Indeed, I came across one. There was a wild eyed lady buying a dozen ceramic ducks. Despite the sparse inventory, this woman had managed to locate every duck on the premises. But When the big box store doesn't have what I need, these guys do. I needed special hardware (hardware is like nuts and bolts) and these guys were the only ones in town who had it. On another occasion I was looking for a vest with a hood, these guys were the last place I went(obviously as they had what I wanted) I went to Tractor Supply, Menards, Home Depot, and Mills Fleet Farm and none of them had what I was looking for. Yes I could of ordered it online but would rather not. I purchased bibs, a winter work coat, boots(once and never again, my work gives me a slip to buy boots) fleece lined jeans. Ect. I buy a ton of stuff from these guys and if you can work through their hours, I fully recommend shopping there too.

The staff was extremely friendly and thoughtful with their approach. Some of the best CX I've experienced! Not sure if it is common but I had two sales associates assist me so was able to have all my questions answered and try all the pieces I wanted. My Sales Executive, Sara Hansen, did a phenomenal job and showed me a number of gorgeous timepieces, and Bryce Melius was incredibly helpful as well. They took the extra effort to learn about me and my lifestyle so they could recommend the proper items to me, not just what they wanted to "sell" to me. I really appreciated that. I was so impressed with their knowledge, communication, and hospitality that while I was on my second visit I actually decided to buy two watches from Sara. I have yet to take delivery of the pieces, but will be sure to update this review with my experiences once I have them on hand, or wrist. There is a cool little reading nook that I really appreciate it and they have a good furniture selection as well as plenty of shelves to see all the different glassware and things like that.
