All those horrible things food snobs say about buffets rings true here at the Village Green.
Never have I been more disappointed with such sub-standard food as that served up here at the Village Green Feast, last night. It sounded promising on the website (not Yelp) but the fact that it was only $26 should have told me all I needed to know! But no, optimistic me thought give it a go.
It wont kill you - hopefully - but honestly I left thinking I'd have rather not eaten there at all.
The soups were watery. The pizzas were left there dieing under the spotlight and the Birianyi was nothing more than yellow colored rice. The roast pork was ok but felt processed. The roast beef was in shreds.
My partner felt better about her meal after she threw up a few times in the bath room. I kid you not.
The desserts looked better but were more sugar drenched than I imagined. The mini profiteroles, coated in chocolate, were surprisingly great however. As was the whipped cream standing by.
I decided to freshen up at the end with an apple only to discover it was plastic. Literally. There for decoration only. They do advertise real ice cream - all over their machine - however the flow is limited and the taste is kinda watery.
The only good thing about the night was that they didn't charge more for it than they did.
Heed my warning folks: ignore the call of the buffet sirens here at the Village Green. You will be better off eating less of something you love, than more than you'd ever want, of something you will never want again. read more
