There is a large variety of other products. They sell free range eggs, marmalades, chutneys, meats and a range of sausages and the bacon is lovely, far superior to something bought in the supermarkets. There is also a range of baked items including biscuits and tea loaves. The last sweet thing bought here was the treat of a sticky toffee pudding which I can highly recommend. As well as their own items there are products from other local farmers markers including wooden utensils and shampoos etc.

I have a huge recipe collection and that includes several that very unusual ingredients. I file those recipes away in my head, thinking "if you can ever find amchur powder/palm sugar/tamarind paste/quail eggs/ancho chile powder/etc, you'll have to buy it and make this recipe!" Having just moved to Newcastle, I have already been impressed by how many ethnic ingredients and spices are just in your average Tesco, but Mmm... blows them all away! I think I spent 30 minutes in here, just scanning the shelves, trying to memorize what I saw so that I could come back when I needed a specialty ingredient. They have everything! For such a small shop, the selection is truly impressive. Lentils/grains/beans, hard-to-find spices, and my very favorite - a Mexican/Latin section with lots of different chile powders, chipotle chiles in adobo, and even Mexican cheese like queso fresco! And fresh corn tortillas! I thought I'd never ever find those things in Newcastle, and was well impressed. They also have olive oils and vinegars, some in bottles on the shelf and others to be tasted from large dispensers. You can fill an empty bottle of oil/vinegar then bring it back for a refill when it's empty and get a discounted price. Oh lord what else - hot sauces, preserves, loads of unusual condiments, beautiful dried pastas, various flours.... and yes, quail eggs! As they say on their website "Don't ask if we stock something, ask us where it is!" Right in the centre of Grainger Market, you will find this small but perfect foodie paradise. The only down side is it tends to close early which can be annoying at 4.45 when i discover we don't have something in on several occasions when i have popped down they have cashed up. The quality of the items which I have purchased has always been excellent, and on the rare occassion that I have had a problem, the staff have handled it well and issued a refund or replacement. Dunelm Mill often have some very good promotions on their bedding, which incidentally is the thing that I tend to shop there for most. They cater for all tastes - whether your home is contemporary or vintage inspired there's bound to be something that you need (or more often just want in my case!). They do charge for delivery, though it is fairly reasonable at £3.95 for standard delivery or £5.95 for the next day service. They do have quite a lot of their products online; however, it is best to visit instore as they have more variety, and also the best end-of-line bargains tend not to appear on the website. It is a great shop and i have kitted my home out with alot of items from this shop. Worth a visit if you are after anything for the home.
