The barman was a chatty friendly bloke and it would seem really enjoyed his job - which makes a difference. There is a good selection of drinks on sale here and they are happy to mix it up a bit if you ask for something "off-piste". It is very well looked after and everything is clean and tidy. You can hire this place out for occasions and the staff will work with you on what exactly you want. There is a patio area to the rear, which is lovely and quiet and you forget that you are near a main road. They may not have the best selection of lager but once you're there you don't mind. They have a lovely, green and well taken care of beer garden. This is a big bonus, especially during spring and summer. There is a roof over it, so even if it rains you can still enjoy sitting outdoors. We almost always get free treats as well; chips, sausages, mini burgers, sandwiches etc. which is very nice, they are all very good at making you feel welcome and appreciated as a customer. If you haven't been yet, give them a chance, pop in, you wont regret it!
