It rivals that of farmer's markets which makes the name stand out. I really enjoy taking a ride there and taking my time in each department or aisle I feel that there's always something new each time I go there. It's almost like a boutique grocery store? Nah not like Whole Foods - think more like sodas from France, a loaded deli full of items and brands you are familiar with but some you just don't see at stop n shop or Costco - also have to mention that yes I know there barely anywhere to get a bit to eat so I have to recommend trying the pizza, incredible sandwich menu as well as the best deal in town - the smash burger ! A meal with fries will cost you FAR less than the drive thru crap and about 20,000 times better ! I would say it's the best kept secret but unless I go early on a weekday morning it's typically kind of busy. Absolutely love the mini liquor store - ultra convenient and love love love the selections of ciders and craft beers- it's actually almost staggering and overwhelming but then you realize 89% is local breweries/wineries/distilleries and it makes it better :) my only complaint at all is the high prices on a lot of things that's curely cheaper elsewhere like your Tostitos chips and polar seltzer but if you go with these expectations- you will enjoy your shopping experience here !!

Somewhat smaller location when compared to a city; expected with location. Amazing what they fit into location (even has a mini hot bar and olive bar, well kind of). Little make your own pizza section is nifty. Only issue I ever had was 1 moldy items; impressive considering 200+ times i've been over years (was a pre-made calzone, must of been packed hot). Details: Produce: Often fair to good; no real issues other then missing less-common items at times ie; (cilantro, small bell peppers, etc). Veggies are decent and no real complaints. Fruit is also fair to good; sometimes avocados, tomatoes and grapes can be more B quality do to green-packing. Apples are usually excellent with local orchards. Cherries in summer are always fantastic. Meats; typically well stocked; will be outages/missing items at busy times. Pork is is very affordable and often a bargain, overall ok meat. Steak/beef is outrageous (but it is everywhere now) and quality is hit or miss, not alot of stock / selection. Chicken: mostly ok, good selection, usually in stock. hotDogs, hams, bacon, sausage: always fully stocked and good Turkey; never in stock (sad face) Coffee, drinks, almost always well stocked; great selection. Bread isle is probably the worse (still not awful); often un-stocked or missing items; tends to be the more messy isle. Pricing is always moderate range; average full cart ranges at 200-250 range if I am not paying attention. Some price shenanigans; but not awful (they all do it). (My seltzer and coffee beans seem to be hitting inflation like crazy) Staff; always friendly. Lines; not bad, no more than 5mins usually. Covid lockdowns; pretty much gone; no stupid isle markers / arrows, dirty looks or other forced mask mandates. People acting like humans again (always a good thing).

I had to drive through petersham in my travels- not a typical route or regular drive but alas I actually passed this store, noticing the OPEN flag , I slammed a U turn to get a sharply needed caffeine boost and found myself in the most delightful spot in a seemingly desolate places when I say I walked in the door and it felt like - a waiting room to heaven door opened as a really beautifully laid out l, store, restaurant, local craft gallery and mini grocery market was laid out instantly as I floated in here. I took as many photos as a Middle Aged woman is permitted to take without looking like a fool - see the photos- while I waited for my turkey club sandwich on French (highly recommend) and loved every second of it. Ok so we have wonderful local and specialty wines beer, cheeses , pantry items , extremely micro vendors of local sauces, dressings, drinks and a lot more in the refrigerators and a ton of CUTE and adorable hand made functional art and crafts - including these "blind dates with a book" that instant stole my heart (see pics) and made me want to move down the road from this place. Sandwich was lovely exactly what you'd expect from a cute country store and deli but just elevated - and welcomed very much to my stressed and dulled palette To top off off I had probably the best service ever at the counter - like truly inspired me to have a better day every though I have to say it didn't get much better but I can say with confidence my visit to petersham country store was the highlight of my day and I cannot wait to come back and bring a friend for a relaxing morning of books, shopping and coffee here . I was almost overwhelmed with how much there as to take in here but in the best way!!

My partner was already at the store by the time we realized this, and since the offered free shipping wasn't a workable option for us, he went inside to see what other bikes might be available. To his surprise, there were two of the exact same (easily recognizable/findable) brightly colored toddler bikes sitting on the sales floor that we were just told were unavailable. He was then able to purchase one of those bikes directly in the store. I completely understand that mistakes happen and inventory systems aren't gonna be always perfect. However, it's tough to understand how an online pickup order could be canceled for being out of stock when the exact item was available for purchase in store??? It just feels like no one took the time to verify whether the item was actually available before canceling the order. Disappointing customer service.

I know this was the day before Thanksgiving but if they were not able to deliver, they simply should not have had delivery options available. Because we thought that they were delivering, we didn't go to the store to get the items that I needed for Thanksgiving and for my granddaughter's birthday party which was on Thanksgiving. (I did do a full thanksgiving shopping but had forgotten things). Here it is the day after Thanksgiving and I still have not received my order. After calling customer service, they gave me a $15 food credit which I think is laughable. I understand in the grand scheme of things, this is small potatoes but just wanted to put this out there. I hope it doesn't happen to anyone else.

The prices are very reasonable compared to the other local options and has a good selection. It's very rare that they don't have what I need. The store itself is clean, the shelves are kept stocked, and in general things are easy to find. My one issue is that the cashiers always have a poor attitude. I have worked in customer service and I completely understand that dealing with the general public is not fun, but faking a smile is just part of the job. Half the time, the "leads," or whatever they are called, are just standing around on their phones while the cashiers are swamped with long lines- which probably contributes to the unpleasant mood. Ultimately, I am still going to shop here due to its convenient location, but I always leave feeling like my presence is a bother.
