My child goes to this school and I am looking Forward to putting my second child here too. The vibe is perfect, my daughter loves the play based learning. I think it is the perfect type of learning for playful bright kids.

My daughter has been attending Village for 7 months now and absolutely loves it! As a first time parent I was overwhelmed looking for daycare for my baby and making sure i chose the right place for her. I toured VNS and knew this was a place I felt comfortable with her being in. We love the co-op community feel, the ability to have my mom help out weekly to be able to afford childcare & of course Teacher Debbie, Brianna & Brittany who make this place the best place for the kids!

Story time really brings the children and work day parents together

When I first heard about Village Nursery, I thought it was an interesting way to be involved in your child's first education experience with the weekly volunteer days. What I didn't realize was the 70 year history of such a special place to build community and friendships. Parenting is definitely a humbling experience, and having a child at the beginning of the pandemic made us very aware of our child's need to be exposed to social situations. We started right when my little one was 25 months, and it was a very rough adjustment. Another family saw his understandably tough transition, and recommended a book to read to him about going to school. We had other parents check-in with us and send us photos so we knew how he was doing on the days they worked. I cannot emphasize how supported we felt from the teachers and other families, and realized it's all the in the name...it really "takes a Village." I love the fact that the parents (we see involvement from both dads and moms) are all there to support each other during this wild ride of parenting, but also that I get to be a part of their child's growth and development and get to know my little one's friends. It's a co-op, so that means it is run by families...with monthly meetings, monthly job tasks, maintenance hours, and fundraising goals. It's a lot, but it's all to build that community and create a space for our kids to grow and thrive. And the teachers create a curriculum that sparks social-emotional growth and curiosity of learning that will continue throughout our child's education. We've only been here a year, but feel the magic of the Village community and know we will be enrolling our 10month old when they turn 2. Oh, and another plus? Your child doesn't have to be potty trained at the time of enrollment...the teachers were very helpful and supportive during our potty training journey and now our little one is fully potty trained!

We started this fall and are loving it. It's a great school and community. The teacher and curriculum are high quality and most importantly our daughter is happy and very well supported.

I love that my son loves going to school but this did not happen overnight! If you are a parent, you know what I mean when I say it's a normal feeling to be bouncing back and forth from worrying and relief. When my son was 2.5 years old, we were worried on how he would do in a social environment especially since he was a COVID baby. It did not take very long to feel that sweet relief when drop offs were easier and he would say Bye when it was time for me to leave him. Enrolling him to Village Nursery School was the best decision for him. He's thriving! His language and social skills have developed, and that is due to the environment and space, the caring teachers, the workday parents, and the kids. The families that we've met are incredible and we thoroughly enjoy getting to know the diverse, talented, dedicated, and fun parents and teachers.

Both of my children graduated from Village Nursery School and my family deeply appreciated the co-op format of the this preschool. We were looking to find an early education option where we could participate and be part of our children's gateway to learning. Village allowed us to support our children's transition into schooling through meaningful engagements with the curriculum, the students and the guardian community there. My children were both supported in developing social and emotional learning strategies, academic skills and multicultural education at their developmental stage. Parents/guardians who volunteered to support preschool teachers were also invited to learn more about facilitating learning for pre-k students, and younger. Through tasks like making snacks for the students, creating a arts and craft project, or being a yard watcher, many guardians really created a space for students to thrive. Teacher Ari and Teacher May have been two of the most committed teachers I've met and were dedicated in engaging their students with creativity and kindness. They were also firm with their boundaries. Village Nursery is a fantastic community. We have made life-long friends and learned so much about supporting our children in their educational journey.

It was a difficult transition for him since he had no formal schooling prior to this. In fact, this was his first separation being away from his parents. Miss Janet and her staff were patient, loving, nurturing and supportive. Here are a few things you should know if you're considering enrollment: 1) The children are constantly supervised in the house and schoolyard. The place is secured with an adult at all times. The backyard is set up with perfectly for the littles ones. Bright, colorful and cheery. 2) The school is sufficiently supplied with learning materials, and follows through with a structured program. They also have music, exercise classes and story time, learning songs, dance movements and educational sessions. 3) It is preferred if your child is potty-trained but if not, Miss Janet and Staff works with your child. Proof is with my Grandson!!! 4) They are taught to be responsible, listen to instructions and directions. Never saw a child out-of-line. Miss Janet is firm but does it with love and positive reinforcement. 5) If your child is a picky eater like ours, they'll learn to love the homemade meals prepared for by Miss Janet. The meals are healthy and has helped develop tastebuds. 6) Holidays and birthdays are always festive. Miss Janet even has programs set up for the Parents to enjoy including Graduation ceremonies. 7) I have come by to pick up our Grandson at lunchtime a number of times and the children are in TOTAL control. There's no yelling, screaming or disorder. 8) If there is an outbreak of illness, Miss Janet notifies the families and immediately sanitizes everything. For months, my Grandson cried in the mornings because he missed his parents, but there was Miss Janet, nurturing with her arms extended and he went right to her. She even came out of her house once morning because she heard him crying 2 houses away!! Miss Janet is an Angel and as a Grandmother, I wish somebody like her was around for my daughters at this age. She prepares them for TK & Kindergarten. How does she manage with 10-12 kids at a time?? I have no idea but she must be doing something right because whatever she does, IT WORKS!!! Our Grandson will be moving on to TK and I must say, it'll be sad to see him leave such a beautiful and intimate setting with filled with love. My wish is that another child may be as fortunate to be a student under Miss Janet's care. She's amazing and a great blessing to many children, parents AND Grandparents. Sure, we have seen staff turnover, but there are a few teachers who have been there since our daughter started. It's great to know that these teachers are now watching our son. Both kids do come home sick occasionally, but that's just the nature of going to school. The school does do a deep cleaning at the end of the week.
