I visited with my husband and my dad. We ordered a personal pizza and two sandwiches along with an appetizer. Well the appetizer came out with my pizza. Then we got one sandwich. After my dad sat for a few minutes without food and no comment from our waitress, I got up and tracked her down to ask about his food. She said, oh I forgot. They are making it now. She never would've said anything, unless I tracked her down. Not even a single apology. So the food came out after my husband was already done with his sandwich. The appetizer that did come when my pizza came out, was cold. It had obviously been sitting there at this point, I think the waitress knew she screwed up and proceeded to ignore us at this point. Again, I had to get up and track our waitress down just to ask for a refill of our drinks. The service was abysmal and the food was less than stellar. A friend and I stopped in during a Mothman-themed weekend trip and loved it. It was chill - we were there the weekend after the big festival, so we got the sense we were among just a few tourists there and the locals were all coming up for air again. We ordered the Mothman pizza and breadsticks. The breadsticks were more like cheesy bread than we anticipated (never upset about that!), and the pizza was your run-of-the-mill fare. Nothing special, but good! We actually both commented how good the pepperoni was. Better than the stuff we get on our pizzas back home. It was adorable and kitschy in the best possible way, like many of the other attractions we saw that weekend. What really blew us away was the service. Kylee was so attentive, friendly and went out of her way to make sure we felt welcome. She brought the pizza out so we could get pictures of our pepperoni Mothman before they cut into him. And she found a few spare stickers from the festival weekend and made sure we each got one. We were consistently pleased with how friendly the locals were, and she was a standout. I would highly recommend Village Pizza Inn to anyone looking for dinner near Point Pleasant. Firstly, the pizza is delicious, and the cheese bread is a MUST. The Mothman pizza is also really cool and definitely popular. Our waitress allowed us to take pictures before they cut it in the back. We were a huge group, and we got in the party room. We ordered a Hawaiian and a taco pizza. Both were fresh hit and delicious. The atmosphere has a neat hometown vibe. Don't let the outside keep you from checking this place out! This inside vibe is great and unexpected. We ordered cheeseburger pizza, taco pizza, an app sampler, and a salad. The waitress was incredibly friendly (so was all the staff). The prices were very reasonable. 3 of us ate (with an appetizer for around $35). The Village Inn Pizza moved next door, but is still spectacular!!!! My sister and I each had an 8-inch personal pizza (with a choice of 5 toppings for just $4.99 each). We split a house salad which was very generous and plenty for two. The lunch-special menu was dandy and delicious and with a great price! They even filled our sodas in to-go cups before we left! We really enjoyed the presentation and even though the presentation was on point, it was still a really good pizza. We also enjoyed the kindness and attentiveness from the staff. We came for the Mothman Pizza and stayed for the pepperoni rolls. My mother joined us on today's trip and we unanimously agreed that this place rocked. The restaurant recently moved to a new location and it was clean, roomy, refreshing, and had a very friendly staff. The pepperoni rolls were the bomb. They were gently glazed with butter and had a perfect pepperoni and cheese ratio neatly tucked inside a bed of heavenliness. We talked about those pepperoni rolls for the duration of the trip. David moaned with delight as he devoured his philly steak hoagie. He wouldn't share, so I can only use my imagination to how scrumptious it truly was. My mom said her fettuccine alfredo was delicious and that the Mothman pizza was probably the best pizza that she's ever had. I would compare the pizza with Frank's Pizza of Montgomery. It had a similar consistency with sauce, dough and cheese. Everyone knows I am a huge fan of Frank's, so this is a big compliment. Definitely a 10 out of 10 from all three of us! My husband got the "Original VIP" personal pan and I ordered the Hawaiian personal pan to be quite different. We shared both and they were so good. Thin crust with nice toasty crunchy bottom, good toppings, and amazing sauce. The ambiance is everything West Virginia. Beautiful wooden furniture, laminated table tops with pictures of mountains, river scenes etc. Our table had cut outs of old black and white photos of kids on local school teams and cheerleaders. There was a large map on the wall that you could pin where you were from. I saw write ins from England, Germany, Thailand.and Africa. Our server was Skyler. Can you say, "WOW"? As a tourist in town seeing the Mothman Museum, I had to get some of the famous "Mothman Pizza" to go along with my authentic Point Pleasant experience. My party of four stopped at the Village Pizza I'm at around 4pm. It wasn't busy, we seated ourselves and we were promptly served drinks and ordered some Pepperonj Rolls and our Mothman Pizza. The rolls came out first and were delectable. Nothing I've ever experienced in Ohio! Then the pizza came out shortly after. It was piping hot, but once a slice was isolated it cooled to an acceptable temperature quite fast. The pizza is INCREDIBLE! The sauce is a perfect blend of sweet and acidic. The crust was cooked and fluffy, but dense as well. The cheese was so melty and all the topics were just meshed together extremely well. When we received our bill, we were also pleasantly surprised to find that our meal and drinks only cost us about $6.50 per person. The service was incredible-we never wanted for anything during our meal. Everyone was extremely friendly and talkative and wanted to know where we were from. We agreed that we had such a good experience that it would be worth the two and a half hour drive from home just for the pizza! read more
