My friend googled their food cleanse things and was horrified to see zero rated. Summer 2019. ive just checked and its not changed. Go enjoy the garden centre - great plants and stuff.

Let's be honest, eating dinner at a garden centre usually sounds like the sort of things your parents or grandparents (depending on your age!) would do, however, this little slice of African themed heaven is a far cry from what you'd normal expect of such a place! I've not made it to Africa, though have traveled widely in Asia, and the outside felt totally authentic, being similar to bars and restaurants I've eaten in abroad. Even outside, you are sheltered from the rain, and inside, where the buffet is served, it's warm and cosy, with live music of an evening, and the most amazing spread of food. I've been a number of times since that first dinner, having returned in the day with my dog, as it's dog friendly if you're happy to sit outside - they even bring a bowl of water for our four legged friends! I've had lunch there, and the most fabulous afternoon cream tea, and cake, whilst the choice is limited, what they offer is very tasty (and I'm a fan of cake!) I loved it that much the first night, that I've refused to go there for a meal again, as I'm going for my 40th, which happens to fall on a Thursday, and looking forward to sharing the experience with close friends. The service is always friendly. It's not always super fast, as it runs on Kenyan time, so this isn't the place to go in a rush. Indeed, why would you? It's such a delightful experience that it deserves to be cherished. Oh, and the shop is pretty fab too! So yes, dog friendly, fab food, great shop and friendly service!

Prices are definitely reasonable, around £4.95 for a meal and a soft drink or a couple pound more for an alcoholic beverage. I was feeling like a hot dog so that's what I went for. Unfortunately our waitress didn't let me know they were out of hotdogs till after everyone else's food in my group arrived. They asked what I wanted instead and were able to have it brought out in a reasonable amount of time. Due to the convenience, I ended up asking if they could throw in a apple crumble at no cost. They said yes without hesitation and just wanted to make right their mistake. I'm always happy when a business goes above and beyond to fix a problem and show that they care about their patrons. If I'm in the area again shopping I will make sure to come back, I had wonderful service and food was great!

The staff were lovely & so happy to help. The range of ales, lagers & gins are extensive and the bar area is attractive with some lovely bar stool areas. The decor is cool & interesting as well as being cosy & intimate. There's a choice of booths or you can combine tables for larger groups ( there were 11 of us). Children are welcome too and it had a nice feeling of people dining rather than being there just to drink which can be off putting if you have children with you. The food arrived quickly & was very hot due to the close proximity of the kitchen. We ordered a gourmet burger and I was asked if I d like an extra burger party or chicken - knowing my man the way I do, I said ' of course' and thought we d work out how we could manage all the good later! The burger was as tasty as some that cost twice as much! I loved the Stilton & spring onion sauce & the chicken breast was moist. Chips were hot & well cooked as were the accompanying onion rings. The picture doesn't do it justice as I was so excited to dig in that we d eaten all the onion rings before I took the photo. The staff were accommodating and on hand with a smile, whatever you asked! We were so impressed that we ll be there for the opening on Tuesday ( steak night!) So if you re ever in the area & fancy a spot if food or a coffee after your shopping I highly recommend the Pump House - and it seems like you can park for free in Asda for up to three hours...so easy to combine the two.

Luckily for us the entrance is well tucked away at the top of the shopping centre, and we only knew it was there after asking the security guard if there was anything else upstairs - sometimes being nosey pays off! This meant it was fairly full but not absolutely bursting like all the bars on the lower floors. There seemed to be people getting turned away near the door as there were no tables free but mum and I just walked straight past to the bar counter at the back - so sometimes not asking permission for stuff pays off too! The menu is sight to behold (it comes in a box) but we kept it simple, getting giant wine glasses of prosecco as they'd run out of flutes. We perched at the statement golden bar for a while then headed outside to the balcony area. There's lots of white sofas and tables to reserve around. Sipping on bubbles in the evening sunshine and enjoying the view over the Pendigo Lake, we felt like we were in a bar somewhere much more exotic than Brum! The prices match the classy setting so it's not somewhere you'd stay for long unless you have money to burn, but mum felt very treated and the posh loos definitely beat queuing at the arena ;)

The staff were really friendly and helpful, and went that little bit extra in their customer service. The decor was really interesting there was a sort of fusion between modern restaurant and old fashioned cafe. We were seated in the 'book corner' and it felt like i was on the set of Harry Potter or something, it was realluy nice and cosy. Me and a friend shared the veggie breakfast, as we were told the breakfast's are the biggest plates they do....yes breakfast at 8pm, when is not a good time to have a good ol fry up? It was alot of food for one person, so i'm glad we shared, they also kindly put all of the items with egg in it on a separate plate so as to not contaminate the rest of it, as i dont eat egg. The vegan ginger and dark chocolate tart was lovely but very rich! I'm glad I ordered a scoop of ice cream to go with it. I quite like dark chocolate as it's not too sweet but friend found it to be very bitter. All in all I would recommend it, and will be visiting again!

We visits Desco on a sunny Sunday lunch and needed food. The service was pretty poor at the bar, not sure if it was a training issue but it took a good 15 mins to get served and seated with drinks. Surprisingly our food arrived in 5 mins as it took so long to place the order. It sounded like people were waiting on coffees too so perhaps a few more staff needed for a Sunday lunch? The ciabatta I had was crispy so worked perfectly against the Cajun mayo and avocado, slice of Monteray cheese and buttermilk fried chicken (no one tell the carb police) and a side of sweet potato fries ( charged extra but still cheaper than ordering as a separate side) and coleslaw. I had that with a refreshing st clement - orange juice, fever tree bitter lemon and bitters. I enjoyed the vibe and would return but let's hope the service, toilet paper availability and tidiness of tables improves by then!
