Five gold stars for Mark, Charlene and Angie who all made our experience at HarborChase as easy and…read moreenjoyable as possible. All three of these employees went out of their way to help my father and our family during our residency. Mark and Charlene were complete advocates for my father, which we appreciate. Angie helped us throw together furniture quickly because we had a time restraint and needed some help. The facility is clean and safe. The Memory Care side is safe. Staff interacts with residents and ensures they eat and receive their medication. My father came from another facility in The Villages and the comparison is truly night and day. Of course, hindsight is 20/20 but I truly wish we had started our Memory Care journey at HarborChase. Not one moment passed where our father did not feel like a member of their family. For anyone looking for a home away from home, I strongly suggest HarborChase.

Mark, Christina, & Charlene is very unprofessional, they walk or sit in they office doing nothing all day! Christina does not care if you have kids or responsibilities to take care of she will have somebody cover your shift before you even get to work without telling you then outta nowhere after getting everybody up in back into they rooms she sends you home! She doesn't know what she's doing they just gave her the promotion because someone quit! She is a big ole liar, she will do anything to get you fired to save her as*! Mark is extremely lazy, you wouldn't really see him leave out of his office unless corporate is there , he also don't know what he's doing! All the residents family members complains about him. Charlene don't do anything don't let her fool y'all, she "mop" the floor all day like she doing something. She be back in forth out of memory care all day to go smoke a cigarette! They left me on the floor with two new people during the weekend! Mark & christina never answers the phone for their employees and other staff members when we are in need of help!

I am writing this review to express gross negligence and systemic failures my sister experienced at…read moreyour facility. It has taken two years to find the strength to document these events, but the gravity of your staff's misconduct demands a response. On one terrible occasion during the night, my sister was left lying on the floor for over 45 minutes before help arrived. When assistance finally appeared, the CNAs were neither kind nor professional. Furthermore, the intake representative explicitly promised our family that she would check on my sister personally during my 10-day absence. This was a lie. Once the contract was signed, she never visited once, demonstrating to me a predatory focus on "greed" over patient care. My brother urgently changed his plans in my absence when the neglect reached a critical level during the MRSA outbreak. Food was left outside the door, despite the fact that my sister was physically unable to retrieve it. She was left alone, hungry, and in distress. Most alarmingly, despite clear instructions and assurances that her DNR status would be updated by the visiting physician, your facility failed to update her chart. My sister did not survive three weeks in your care. Your refusal to prorate the intake fee despite this catastrophic failure is the final insult to her memory. This level of abandonment is inexcusable, and your facility is accountable for the lack of dignity and safety provided to my sister in her final days. I have her texts as proof.

Her room was not clean. I ended up in the hospital for three weeks. And when I got up to her room after getting out of the hospital, there was actually feces on her floor I have photos to prove it.I would not leave anybody in conditions like this. The food was awful, and she was on hospice. When she left there, she's not now. She's thriving in her new facility. So please do yourself a favor and don't put your family members here unless you're keeping a very close eye on them. Cleaning of the room is poor. Assistance with bathing is sporadic. My wife and sister-in-law do the preponderance of the cleaning and bathing but they can't be there all of the time. Assistance only comes with persistent requests and demonstrations that the cleaning or bathing has not been done. Over and over we would be told that the room was cleaned when we could clearly see the same dirt on the carpet, counters, and other surfaces. The room smelled. Mom smelled. Right after we were told she had been bathed. We placed our mother with them based on 1) the pleasant interactions 2) the location is perfect for us and our family to visit often 3) there is a facility next door (Lady Lake Specialty Care) associated with Springs of Lady Lake where we were told mom would be able to transition when she needed a higher level of care. We are now at the point where mom has gone to the hospital and is now in rehab. Her time in rehab is coming to an end. Mom now needs that higher level of care. The Springs refuses to allow her back, meanwhile the facility next door (where we were promised she would transition) refuses her. No reasons given. No phone calls returned. The Springs is pressuring us, during the holidays, to remove her belongings but without a solution in place. They will not allow her to return while we search for a permanent solution. They now refuse to speak to us. Lady Lake Specialty Care refuses to speak to us. Do not place your loved ones or their care in the hands of either of these facilities. The pleasant interactions are a facade that disappears as soon as a problem arises. Duplicitous and hypocritical are the most apt descriptions.

Since that time, care and services have continued a steady decline. I had hopes last fall when a new director was brought in, but her inexperience and inability to manage staff have proved disastrous. The "care" given to the most vulnerable in memory care is scary. There have been mornings at 8 AM when staff haven't shown up for work and all the residents had been left in bed or wandering the locked halls at will. Just last week I saw, from an upstairs window, a wheelchair bound man who had been left unattended in the direct, blazing sun when the heat index was 96 degrees. I reported it to the front desk person who went on the unit to bring him in. The new Memory Care director was nowhere to be found. The same was true when I was visiting on the unit and there was a reported fire with alarms blaring and lights flashing. The director opened the locked door to the unit and yelled evacuate. She closed the door, and left the staff and me to get all the residents to the back to get out. Needless to say, NO ONE checked the rooms for clients. When we came back into the building after the "all clear" several residents were seen wandering around, meaning they could have died had there been a real fire. I have called corporate to no avail.... nobody answers calls or returns them if you leave a message. The state should really come in and close this facility down like they did Watercrest Sarasota..... loved ones lives are at stake!

The entire operation and everyone involved has been professional and focused on providing the best care possible. Dad experienced some medical problems (completely unrelated to the care provided by Visiting Angels) after a year into the VAO care program which resulted in changes to his living arrangements. VAO was understanding, cooperative, flexible, helpful and supportive in making adjustments to Dad's care program. It has now been nearly 18-months since VAO began providing services. We have never had a problem with billings, services, care-givers, or compliance with the scope of services provided by VAO and the outstanding staff. Dad has been cared for by one person for the overwhelming majority of time - but there has been a limited number of days when other caregivers were required to fill-in (due to illness, doctor visits, family emergencies, etc) for Dad's primary caregiver. The "substitute" caregivers were each well informed of Dad's condition/personality before arriving and each provided good, friendly, quality support that was welcomed by Dad. If you're ever in need of a reliable home health care service to provide care, companionship, light housekeeping services, assisting with meal preparation and clean-up, personal hygiene and grooming support, and a compassionate friend to help care for a loved one, I would certainly strongly recommend VAO. Reach out to Elizabeth or Kandice and find out how VAO can work with you in developing a program that works best for your loved ones needs and interests: the costs for care are very reasonable given the quality and reliability of services.

My family was so lucky to have found Pat's Serenity Home Care!…read more My 85 year old mom had dementia, was falling down a lot, and became too much for my dad to handle. We first met Pat and Michael on their wedding anniversary and they canceled their plans to take my mom in their lovely home the same day. They provided snacks and healthy home cooked meals, activities to help keep my mom and other residents engaged, and top notch care around the clock. Pat & Michael rented a van over Christmas and took my mom out to see the pretty lights. They celebrated her birthday with flowers, presents and decorated their house. During a hurricane warning, they invited my dad to come stay with them. My family and I were always welcome to visit and stay however long we wanted. They regularly sent us pictures and texts to let us know how my mom was doing, which was really sweet. Being in a private, loving home is so much more welcoming than a sterile facility. Towards the end of my moms life, Pat was feeding my mom every meal and trying to keep her as comfortable as possible. They treated my mom and family with kindness and respect, and we are forever grateful. I can't say enough great things about Pat's Serenity Home Care. I highly recommend the family as they take excellent care of your loved ones!
