Something that I didn't feel comfortable enough talking to my oncologist about, or my family physician. They both have an air of arrogance and a "better-than" attitude... Anyway, so I tried this guy. I was unsure at first as I read his other review, but I wasn't drug seeking, I was desperate for help. It didn't matter to me what he did in the past, or what happened. What matter was getting the help I needed. The only drs that took my insurance had a wait of at least a month. So when I started calling around - most drs wouldn't accept self-pay if you have insurance!! Baton Rouge Clinic was the only other one I found and they wanted to charge 367$ just to walk in the door. That didn't include labs or anything else. I was astounded and desperate. So I decided to try what seems to be the only self pay dr in BR. He met me at his office. He is semi-retired. So no nurses or med assistants. This dr logs all of your vitals and info his self! I've never met a dr that does that! He weighs you himself, does medical history himself and does a short physical. No need to fill out endless paperwork! Yay! As soon as he asked why I was there. I unloaded. Tears and all. I was so comfortable, I felt like I was talking to a family member. It melted my heart and just cried tears of frustration, depression, and relief. I then felt his compassion in the way he spoke with me. He knew exactly my symptoms and started calling them out - he wanted to help me! I was so grateful! I just cannot express enough to give this guy a try! Even my husband just went to him this past week. Ignore the negative review and get off that conveyor belt of insurance sponsored health-care. This drs. rates are incredibly affordable. Definitely so grateful that I took this initial step and am building a relationship with a dr. like this. I recommend him to everybody I know and will continue to do so until he fully retires.

Both times I've come, she greets me with, "Have you been here before. License and insurance!" But the next person that comes, she says, "Hi. Can I help you?" I was sent by several strong referrals but never made it past the receptionist. The first thing catching my eye was a sign at the sign-in window warning everyone of EBOLA. Wasn't Fox News scaring people with that just last year. I think 2 or 3 U.S. citizens even contacted it? Why not warnings about obesity and substance abuse.....or mouth cancer from the 35 flavors of Skoa sitting on a store shelf just down the street? I wasn't there for pain but 1 of the forms said (in BOLD letters) "We don't treat people with chronic pain". Isn't that why people go to a doctor? Are there that many pill heads that doctors won't treat their patients anymore? After watching General Hospital in the waiting for 15 minutes, I decided to change the channel. There wasn't anyone in the room so I didn't see no harm. In the middle of changing it a young receptionist sarcastically said, "excuse me MISS but please don't touch the TV". I turned to laugh but there wasn't a smile on her face. She was genuinely angry. My shoulder length hair probably threw her but geez. I started getting really uncomfortable because obviously I had rubbed her wrong. After another 10 minutes finally left. I'm still looking for a good doctor (and a staff) that are compassionate with their patients.
