Something that I didn't feel comfortable enough talking to my oncologist about, or my family physician. They both have an air of arrogance and a "better-than" attitude... Anyway, so I tried this guy. I was unsure at first as I read his other review, but I wasn't drug seeking, I was desperate for help. It didn't matter to me what he did in the past, or what happened. What matter was getting the help I needed. The only drs that took my insurance had a wait of at least a month. So when I started calling around - most drs wouldn't accept self-pay if you have insurance!! Baton Rouge Clinic was the only other one I found and they wanted to charge 367$ just to walk in the door. That didn't include labs or anything else. I was astounded and desperate. So I decided to try what seems to be the only self pay dr in BR. He met me at his office. He is semi-retired. So no nurses or med assistants. This dr logs all of your vitals and info his self! I've never met a dr that does that! He weighs you himself, does medical history himself and does a short physical. No need to fill out endless paperwork! Yay! As soon as he asked why I was there. I unloaded. Tears and all. I was so comfortable, I felt like I was talking to a family member. It melted my heart and just cried tears of frustration, depression, and relief. I then felt his compassion in the way he spoke with me. He knew exactly my symptoms and started calling them out - he wanted to help me! I was so grateful! I just cannot express enough to give this guy a try! Even my husband just went to him this past week. Ignore the negative review and get off that conveyor belt of insurance sponsored health-care. This drs. rates are incredibly affordable. Definitely so grateful that I took this initial step and am building a relationship with a dr. like this. I recommend him to everybody I know and will continue to do so until he fully retires.

The billing department and the way they handle their billing is absolutely atrocious. Angela from…read morethat department is a horrible person to speak with and is a miserable person in general. They will overcharge, double charge, and more! On top of it, they are absolutely vile if you check in to an appointment without paying your last bill... "WE HAVE BEEN CALLING YOU AND SENDING YOU LETTERS!!!! HAVE YOU NOT GOTTEN ANY OF THOSE? IF YOU DON'T PAY RIGHT NOW YOU HAVE TO LEAVE." I have received zero phone calls, voicemails, or letters. After rhat os was a down hill race. I was sent to get a chest x-ray across the building. The x-ray tech made me remove my bra in the x-ray room with the DOOR WIDE OPEN TO THE HALLWAY, and the tech standing right there watching me. As a veteran who suffers from PTSD linked to violent sexual trauma to say I was upset at having to remove my undergarments in an open hallway in front of a stranger is an serious understatement. Then as I was leaving the tech comes after me in the parking lot tellinge the x-rays we just took are no good and that we have to redo them. Again removing my undergarments in an OPEN hallway in front of a stranger!! I will never go back to this place! They will be lucky if I don't decide to sue the shit out of them.

I scheduled a new patient appointment online. No issues. I got text/email reminders about upcoming…read moreappt via MyChart because I was previously seen by another dr in the OLOL group. It rained the morning of my appt so traffic was heavier than normal. My appt time was 11:00. I made it at 10:54. The receptionist informed me that I needed to reschedule because new patients needed to arrive 15 minutes prior to the appt time and that I was already 10 minutes ( actually 9) late. Bummer. There were no patients in the waiting area so this kind of threw me off. Maybe they close early on Fridays. Not sure if I'd return.
