It's a great spot to cross over to the East River Esplanade and walk back home after spending time in East Harlem. It's also nice to go over to the island for a long walk and see the sights. I decided to wait for a warmer day. I did get some great photos of the area when I crossed over the FDR. The bridge itself isn't that pretty to look at in my opinion. It definitely serves its purpose and is enjoyable to walk on. If you're in the area and feel like taking a hike, this is a good experience. It's clean and I felt safe with the high fence! No jumping allowed......

It's actually a bridge to get across from Manhattan to Randall's Island park over the East River. Some terrific views from this bridge and it offers a decent incline for run training. No car traffic at all as it's only a footbridge for walkers and those on bicycles. Oh, and there is no Ward's Island, as it was combined to make Randall's Island years ago. The bridge does lift for larger boats to get by but I've never seen it use that function. Makes for a nice walk or run on a sunny day.

Can then NY Governor David A. Paterson understand our hardship and utter struggle to live? To survive to live is a Sisyphean task. I am exuberant that David A. Paterson completed his term as 55th NYS governor to get the boot removed from office. I personally prefer the old name because it intuitively describes how it connects three boroughs (Manhattan, Bronx, and Queens) as a Y-shaped bridge of elevated highway viaduct. There are three bridges that comprises the Triborough Bridge: East River Suspension Bridge - 8 lanes of I-278 (Bronx and Queens spans) Harlem River Lift Bridge - 6 lanes of NYS Route 900G (NY 900G) Bronx Kills Through Truss Bridge - 8 lanes of I-278 connects the Bronx with Randalls Island I was once fortunate that a colleague drove me all the way home from Bronx to Queens. At long last, I did not have to endure the tormenting MTA NYC Transit subway. Vehicle traffic did move moderately without any delays or impediments. There were no pothole seen. As a lifelong passenger, to me, the seen of Triborough Bridge is smooth and efficient to drive because of its cashless toll system rendered since 2017 with cameras and RFID readers. Outside of this, as a walker who has walked very long distances, this is my least favorite bridge in the city for two very good reasons. First off, the barriers on the side are very low compared to any of the more popular bridges people walk on. I'm not sure if it's because fewer tourists go here, or because fewer people have "climbed," for lack of better words, but I find the side of the bridge a bit dizzying. It's probably a combination of both, but I hug the other side where you loudly hear the ton of cars passing by. In groups, I walk in front and quickly speed walk over whatever part we are doing. It's also an incredibly narrow bridge, making the narrow walking paths of the GWB or the old one on the Queensboro/59th Street look wide by comparison. You'll still get bikes on there, and I have almost gotten into an accident once or twice. It's nice to have a bridge that leads to this many places, but I hate it.

I use it on a very regular basis, and I remember the nice views but obstructed by fencing that's on both sides of the road. It doesn't feel like very much like going between boroughs, and the transition is not that big of a deal on this road. It's good and not that many people use it really.

They are on both sides as well which is nice. When your crossing from Queens to Brooklyn, it narrows down to one lane as your crossing over the middle. Coming back the other way there are two lanes. The bridge is over Newton Creek I think is the name of that river. I've never seen it used but it is a drawbridge. You can see the mechanical arms that stop traffic on sides as your driving over.

We were able to run through the viaduct which was open to pedestrians only on this day. I've ridden in cabs through it many times but never had a chance to walk or run through it, and around the roadways that circle around the building and head back to Park Avenue South. Pretty much just a tunnel. Some cool architecture to see. That's pretty much it.

Grand Central Station and the Helmsley Building are always included in my enjoyment. I love this area. I can't seem to take enough photos from every angle. One year during Summer Streets I really took some great photos inside the tunnel. The old light fixtures and details are dirty and unkept but they still trigger my imagination. I'm taken back to a different time. During Summer Streets this tunnel is open for pedestrians. If you go other times you will get run down! I hope you enjoy my photos. It's an absolutely beautiful bridge in the heart of Central Park, and I'm not surprised that it has such great ratings. It's not as famous as the other one, but it's absolutely gorgeous. Kind of impossible not to love it really, and certainly impossible for me to give it anything less than five stars.

On 37th between 6th and 7th Avenues you will find this amazing walkway that goes from skyscraper to skyscraper. There should be more of these in New York City! It links 2 buildings of course and it's nothing short of breathtaking. I wish they were all over town but there are very few, and this one is the iconic one that I always remember from walking around MHTN. And one day I hope to walk across and see it from the inside.

Ridgewood Reservoir use to be a freshwater wetland on the border between Brooklyn and Queens. What…read moreis now the upper area of Highland Park. I either go for a walk or run along the trailway all the time. Just recently after doing some research the 3rd basin used to be Ridgewood Reservoir until 1989 when the reservoir was drained out. One of the many fascinating history of this once Reservoir. There use to be a waterfall. At a certain distance while walking on the trail way you get to see portions of the abandoned and once waterfall. At first you would assume it was used as stairs to get to somewhere down, but nothing like it. I could only image the view. Another fascinating history behind the Ridgewood Reservoir, there used to be a keepers house and guest house. Only a small part of that house remains while the other part is long gone. Not sure if people while out running or just taking a stroll notices these tiny historical fragments distance away. Ridgewood Reservoir is very peaceful, quiet, and very well preserved naturally. If you are the walker type it can take you about 20 minutes to walk Ridgewood Reservoir. For those bike or running enthusiasts less.

While visiting my folks the other day in Fresh Meadows, I decided to bike to the Reservoir and see what all the hype was about. I have friends who live nearby and they are always telling me to visit. While visiting my parents the other day, I borrowed my dads old 79s Italian road bike and went for it. It was about about 8 miles but it was worth it. The reservoir is not to be confused with Highland Park though they are right near each other. If you've ever have noticed a bike path on the right hand side of the Jackie Robinson highway going east bound (nearby exit 2 or 3 perhaps), this it where that leads to. If you're biking like I was, there's a pretty decent amount of bike rack space on both sides of the water. The bike racks are also pretty publicly facing so seemed decently safe to me, as long as you have a decent or good lock. With by bike secured, I was able to walk around and take in the spectacular views of the water while enjoying the sounds of hundreds of singing birds, who too decided to spend the day relaxing by the reservoir. I couldn't help but forgot that I was still technically in New York City. Seriously, it felt like I was somewhere here on Long Island. The best part about this park, is that if you're adventurous, it turns out there are some really cool hidden paths all around. I found one that gave took to this unobstructed and extremely private view of the water. I had the entire one half of the park to myself. It was just me, my thoughts and nature. Bring some binoculars if you have any and go bird watching. I spotted some beautiful Red Robin's and blue jays. If you're ever out this way, I HIGHLY suggest you check this place out.

This is a beautiful little bridge that takes you from the highway into Long Island City. It's useful and I'm on it fairly often. It's part of my favorite borough, and one of the nicer areas of it, more developed and fancy anyway, with beautiful views of Manhattan and whatnot. It's not very "Queens", and it's not the real Queens, but it's still Queens, and it's my Queens and I love it.
