I wanted to give this place my business, but I will be going elsewhere. It's unfortunate because I am very loyal to small businesses, and I truly felt like this one didn't want my business. I would have continued coming back if the situation had been handled differently. I originally came in to have my antique engagement ring resized (all tanzanite and gemstones). The woman who helped me was very kind and had no issue that there were no diamonds, and the ring turned out beautifully. However, when I returned yesterday to have my wedding ring repaired (the metal band was damaged), I was rudely turned away because the stone was not a natural diamond but moissanite. I explained that it was the metal that needed repair, but I was dismissed without much consideration simply because it wasn't a diamond. I understand some jewelers may not work with lab-created stones, but the interaction felt very dismissive and unwelcoming. Very very rude both of them. The man and the woman working there. We bought a ring and had issues within 6 months. When we went in to confront all he wanted to do was belittle us customers. I can only imagine how they treat their spouses at home. I would never recommend as they don't tell the truth and want to over charge services compared to other local jewelers. First the shop is as much a museum of local and family memories as a jewelry store. Enjoyed looking at all the wonderful items. Went in for watch batteries and to have the watch bands sized. Nice honest service and while the prices were a tad high I feel it to be worthwhile. read more

I have been a customer of Vince's for nearly 20 years. He has great integrity and listens to his customers. I didnt know what I wanted nor did I have a sense of what might look nice, but Vince nailed it. The ring is perfect. Its a one of a kind and so beautiful. People stop me frequently to compliment it. I have had it for 15 years and I still feel as I did the day it was ready for me. The most beautiful ring I have ever seen. This is an amazing place in Traverse City to get a great deal on beautiful jewelry. Vince takes the time to talk with you and understands exactly what your looking for in jewelry. He is very respectful and gives you lots of choices. I recently purchased a beautiful white 14 karat gold mans wedding band with approximately 1 carat of 8 princess cut diamonds at 1/2 the price, which I later realized when I paid to have it independently appraised. He's truly an honest jeweler. He can offer people these amazing deals because he does resale of diamonds and gold. Vince has been in business for the 24 years I've lived in this area. WARNING! STAY AWAY FROM THIS GUY! I have had nothing but PROBLEMS every single time I go into this place. The guy is a COMPLETE A** and completely disrespectful! He treats every one I know like garbage. My fiance' went in to have her ring sized and he refused to do it and wouldn't even tell her why. It was obviously too much for him to handle. I've seen better customer service at Walmart! It turns out when he saw the ring and found out that we did not buy it from him, he didn't want our business and sent us elsewhere. Hey, that's fine! I wouldn't give this guy a dime! Buy at your own risk! I wouldn't trust any jeweler that couldn't size a simple solitaire diamond ring one size! His jewelry is far too overpriced and his attitude is just a joke. I don't recommend this guy for your jewelry. You'de be better off shopping at your local mall! read more

She left the store in tears from how rude and insulting he was when all she wanted was her new engagement ring resized. This place is a complete joke. If I could rate less than one star I would. Every time I am in this place I ask myself why. Not recommended to anyone. Actually, stay far away. The owner is rude, ignorant, and unprofessional and his staff is the same. I went in against my better judgement to sell a gold ring and get a quote. The person behind the counter stated that she did not know if it was "real" or not so she would have to cut into the ring to perform an "acid test." Okay whatever. So I allowed the test on my beautiful ring even though it was a slap in my face. Lo and behold, it was real gold. Handed over my drivers license, just about completed all the paperwork, but when I could not provide a phone number suddenly they were uninterested. A disclosure should be stated prior to destroying a customers ring. I could care a less that they didn't buy my ring, I was pissed that they ruined my ring. I should have demanded that they fix it prior to leaving but I could not stand to be in that store any longer than possible. I would recommend other local jewelers including chain stores rather than this joke. I have had excellent, intelligent, friendly service every time I've been in CC's Jewelers. They also have a great jewelry selection. I took my ring in to them, they handed me cash no questions asked and no rediculous acid testing. They even gave me more than the fools at Vince's offered me. Thank you CC's! Shame on you Vince! You bring shame to the jewelry business and should be ashamed to call yourself a jeweler. read more
