I generally practice drums solo, and I've gotten sick of commuting an hour from central Brooklyn to dirty studios with crappy equipment. Battalion's equipment sounds solid, and the place is easy to access (plus close to Whole Foods, as an added bonus!). I can't wait to come back. My only push would be to have a bell or something at the front desk. No one was there when I arrived last time, and I had to sit and wait for ten minutes, which cut into my practice slot. I've only been once, though, so not sure if this was just bad timing!

I've been at studios that have great equipment and boasts top notch production. What good is the equipment with all these plug-ins, amps, software, etc..if the engineer can't bring your sounds the way you envision? It's like that feeling I get seeing people who can't drive in a nice luxury/expensive car. Well, I hope you got the analogy, but basically what I'm saying is that the Brewery is official. One of the few spots that can give you something to look forward to listening to when you get home (granted you finish your session before leaving). Some studios you go to simple record your vocals and call it a day. Others don't make you feel comfortable recording. But the Brewery isn't either of them. The area isn't crazy like Manhattan, and the place itself is very well put together. They offer beverages, and boast a nice iso-booth to record. Trying to book a session might get hectic, but nevertheless, its one of the few studio gems that Brooklyn has to offer. The price is kind of expensive, but I never complain if the service matches it. Plus, they have off-peak rates that you can definitely take advantage of. I plan to make this one of my go-to places for all my music endeavors. Great that you can book + pay online too. We didn't tell Jake but this was my bf's first time in the studio & yet Jake was still amazing. He threw out bars to say, gave advice to stay on beat, & was encouraging.
