This is a big church so I had my doubts going into the parking lot. I saw mini tram vehicles picking up people around the parking lot and thought I was going to an amusement park, but I was trying to keep an open mind. There were groups of people welcoming folks to enjoy coffee, muffins, information cards for small groups, ministry and multi-generational families meeting in seating areas. I was a bit overwhelmed by it all in a good way. The worship was great but what was even more awesome was seeing a bunch of people getting baptized up front and on the screen during the songs. Each time someone came up from the water there was cheering and singing. It gave me such joy for them! Praise God! The message was great and I filled out a newbie card. Someone called me the very next day to welcome me and tell me about ways I could plug in. The options are endless and there is definitely something for everyone. I took some pictures of what is going on in the next week as an example of the activities I saw posted. The church is a hub for this community providing food, clothing, legal advice, etc. It is really a great resource. I think you should give it a chance. While it is a large church, you can be known as a part of the body of Christ. It is a matter of finding where you fit. I will have to try out the small groups and edit my review on those opportunities for you guys later. For now, I say jump in and know Jesus is here waiting for you. Just show up. read more

The teachings for 6th grade is very wrong not only did they preach that my sons feelings are wrong and not valid but that he needs to only listen to god and what god tells him to feel, when The Bible does not teach to completely ignore, suppress, or deny human emotions, but it strongly advises against letting fickle feelings dictate actions, directing believers instead to filter emotions through Scripture. Faith is meant to take precedence over feelings, especially when emotions contradict God's truth. My family and I have been coming here for over 10years . We've noticed a lot of lessons not making since at all definitely not something we know from the Bible but words that twist it . Coming here used to feel so nice but lately it doesn't it just feels like an inconvenience. read more

I been so depressed since being here for 10 years in Phoenix. I am from Calif and would travel ever summer to revivals and visit churches for my vacations and meet people. I don't care what church I walked in I felt so much love. I was never home. I did a lot of amping in the summer I made friends all over. I've cried in churches how lonely I am never not one call. I even told a pastor here I planned suicide and he was going to help me I was there a total of 8 years so I was not new. Well, no phone call. I was forgotten. I don't understand. In Cali I had so many babysitting jobs I house sat. One church my very first one the pastor paid for my junior college, a group of people put in together and bought me a car. I was taken on vacations and I can't even get 2 phone calls a month and have someone go to the movies. I volunteer at a Christian Care Home and half the employees walked out of their church this place is full of employees. The churches here are cold distant and very selfish. Now I'm done with churches here these churches will be judged now I know the Bible says many Christian's won't be in the rapture!!! read more

Started going here in 2019 to meet chicks in the divorce support group. Little did I know God wanted his plan for me to see how much he loves me and only wants the best for me like I want for my child. Most weeks I work Sunday so I totally appreciate the Saturday evening service and that's something I don't see almost anywhere else. They are very welcoming however I did withhold 1 star because it's easy to get lost in the big church feel even though they are always inviting you to small groups. Small groups are bible study social groups sometimes meeting at people's homes or the church. It's best to get involved in small groups to get the most out of this church. However, in the past I have felt like certain people acted like Trump is the second coming of Jesus. At least the leadership pushed back on keeping political party lines out of church. Loving your neighbor is key. read more

The message was preachy . Families are messy (from Genesis patriarch family story). True families are messy then and now but there could be a better connection with a pastor who is younger. It's cool that this couple founded the church many years ago and vineyard is known for good music. The music was good. Their campus is big and updated but it might be time to add some younger messengers of the Gospel message. read more

They are always nice. They have Sunday school for the kids and they service FREE coffee. Sometimes I just need an hour of "me" time to get my word without my children. It is nice to know my children are learning as well and are safe. They have Police for security. read more

Hearing about the same old donation sermons for this and that but in 2 Corinthians 8:7-9 is opposite of what Senior Pastor Brian preaches. I was a church member for many years, didn't donate 10%, "well let me check and I'll give you a call". Nope nobody called. Every year how much did you make, own a home, a lot of personal questions about money and where does it go. It's a sin and hypocritical. The church is debt free and it's not free to ask for help now. This church is beautiful. The people there are extremely welcoming from the minute you exit your car. They have staff in muliseat carts picking people up in the parking lot and dropping them off at the front door! They are very good with the word, and teaching it. They are punctual, so you don't want to get there late. Lots of fun and great activities for families year round. read more

Ive attended Vineyard for years periodically, I pay my tithes when I attend, sometimes I am unable to attend because of my work schedule. I went to this church for help with rental assistance, a referral from 211 Arizona. I went to the church filled out the paperwork to receive a phone call from a Pastor who handles rental assistance and was questioned if I was a member, and basically it's hard enough to reach out for help especially giving someone all of your information to have them question you about if you are a member or not. To be referred from a public site such as 211 and to be talked to and told I'm not in the system. I was and still am devastated that I was put through this type of questioning and also feel that they should not be listed as a resource for help through 211. Again I have attended the mistake I guess I made was not attending the new members orientation so this pastor could find me in the system. But why I couldnt be found and I have paid money to this church filled out the envelope with all of my information, which tells me they collect the money and just toss the envelope and unless you attend the new member orientation you are not important and even though like he said they have the money but its only for members. Again I understand but to be referred from a place that helps you find help and to be belittled and questioned about what that last few sermons were about was just really heartbreaking. I never go to anyone for help and the one time I did I was made to feel like I wasnt important. I have told a few members who will not be attending and I have also contacted a few additional resources about my experience. I do not want anyone else to have to experience what I went through and the embarrassment of being questioned how the pastor chose to address me and question me. Church should be a safe place and you should enter the information you are given on envelopes because if people take the time to fill it out and you do not need it you minas well just have blank envelopes. Again this has been so heavy on my heart that I honestly pray that this pastor does not ridicule the next person that goes for seeking help. read more

This was my home church for 15 years. I loved this church until...I was married. My wife and I wanted to become members and be more involved in donating our time and money. So we took the necessary classes to become members, and we joined small groups and bible study. We filled out our information cards and I guess this is where they found out we were a same sex couple (or maybe someone from a small group 'turned us in'). One of the pastors singled us out via email and requested we meet with him. After Sunday service, he took us into a conference room and told us we could not be members of the Vineyard due to our sexuality and the fact that we were married (My wife had just started worshipping the Lord and wanted to be baptized). This broke our hearts. We left the church, her in tears, and me feeling like I was just reprimanded. I wrote pastor Brian thinking perhaps that he didn't know about the pastor's bold judgement of us. Pastor Brian replied and it turned out that he did know and fully supported this. It is a shame that these people think they can "judge" us. They should know and practice that judgement belongs ONLY to our father. Also, they apparently assign "severity" to sin, thinking our sin is greater than their own. Sin is sin. It frightens me to think of all the people they've turned away who have needed their help only because they were gay! What about all the young people who struggle with their sexuality and fear of rejection who think of ending their lives? Who need mercy from the Lord? Well....looks like the Vineyard has taken it upon theirselves to judge and decide who is worthy of their help in following and worshipping our father Jesus Christ. This event happened over one year ago now. It has taken us this whole time to recover and heal our hearts. Thank the good lord that I am strong in my faith and my relationship with God is solid so my faith has not been shaken. I just wanted to share this so that in case someone is looking for a church which aligns with their own beliefs may read this and decide wheather this is the church for them. I wish I would have read something like this post all those years ago, it would have saved us the heart acke. God is good, and he is loving, accepting and forgiving. And ONLY God gets to judge us. read more

We've gone here over 2 1/2 years now and love this church. We never been to a large church before and were kinda nervous about it.. We found people very friendly right off before sitting down and my husband, being very quiet, was able to understand everything and felt right at home here.. we both love how the spirit moves in such a mighty way, I get chills.. This is our home now and don't plan on leaving here.. love it and all the Pastors and team mates here, they are great.. small group leaders become your friends and family.. best church in the Phx area... read more

i had been very, very ill and a few people told me that Vineyard Church was a prayerful, Christ centered congregation. Since I was bed bound, I contacted the facility with the hope that this large House of Worship could send a few volunteers down the street, to my apartment, for prayer and fellowship. I spoke with Pastor A who first asked if I was a member of the congregation. I remember specifically disclosing to Pastor A, that after my mother's death, I experienced a number of serious illnesses and been physically unable to attend a church. Pastor A obviously did not hear my response, because he asked me the same question: "Are you a member of Vineyard?" I repeated my situation, and he informed me that "you can't have a prayer team come over to just anybody's place, you know to a stranger's house, things could happen and they don't know you from Adam" I thought to mention what Christ would have done, but that would have been a hard sell to this guy. Anyway, Pastor A,, exhibiting his gift for impatience, told me to call the office in a couple of weeks, to see if he could "round up" a prayer group, a kind of Christian cattle call. I phoned, Pastor A had forgotten his mission (in more ways than one), and couldn't recall my original request. My limited, but telling experience with The Vineyard, soured me on their narrow interpretation of religious outreach and who is deemed acceptable for pastoral visits. I challenge The Vineyard Ministry to ask themselves the ultimate question --- what would Christ do? read more
