The church actually had an accident a few years ago (a fire I believe?) and they reopened about 2 years ago. I never saw the Original St. Mary's, but I frequently go to Mass here now. I am a parishioner at St. Catharine's, but I love Fr Vince so much that you can sometimes catch me at a random weekday Mass at St Mary's or the 11a Sunday Mass. Father Vince Nguyen is a fantastic priest. He is really good friends with my pastor, Father Dury and they are a lot alike. His homilies are meaningful, thought-provoking, heartfelt and humorous. I always leave a Mass at St. Mary's feeling invigorated with the Holy Spirit. I have also gone to confession here a few times and once again, Fr. Vince is the best. He takes his time with each penitent and makes you feel loved by God as he discusses Scripture with you and outlines your penance. He has become my go-to confessor (sorry Father Dury--everyone knows it feels weird to go to your "home" priest for confession! Hah!) The interior of this church is something that even non-Catholics can appreciate. The wood fixtures are so fresh and new-- enough to make St. Joseph himself proud! The artwork and statues are ones that I could stare at for hours. It really is breathtaking--everyone should see this! I'd highly recommend St. Mary's as a parish to attend Mass. It's such a special experience each time. Thank you Fr. Nguyen for being such a wonderful priest- the Holy Spirit is on fire in you!

It is wonderful to band together with people from all walks of life and worship God. You don't get such a cross section of society anywhere more than at church. I have been to churches where the only people singing are the people on stage. Not so here. Participation in the worship is ubiquitous. Family Bible Class starts at 9:30 am on Sundays. The morning worship service is at 10:45. The choir sings each Sunday from September to June, and it is really an exceptional group! Don't miss the Christmas concert!

I liked all the singers and the lectors. They were engaging. The church is really pretty and so open! I couldn't help but stare the whole time. Parking lot isn't bad. I'd suggest parking on the side furthest from the road as so many cars would line up and I couldn't leave the lot for a good five minutes. I love seeing that so many people attend church. It's so uplifting. I only wish that they'd fix the situation with the mic. I couldn't hear the priest very well or one of the lectors. They needed to lean a little more into the mic. It was mostly families and elderly folks here. That's the demographic in UA and it made me feel a little out of place. I guess all the young adults and the diversity is at St Christopher, so I'm told.

New Life was originally a church plant out of Liberty University in Lynchburg, Virginia. Since 1985, this church has grown significantly up to several thousands members. It's not a huge church, but it sure is not tiny either. They have plenty of ministry opportunities for anyone to get plugged into as well. New Life has successfully planted several other churches throughout Central Ohio including Hilliard, OSU Campus Area, Short North and Canal Winchester. So, if Gahanna is too far out of the way for you, there's a New Life Church close by. This church is the real deal and will minister to you and your family more than most other churches.
