I grew up going here in the summer, and Vinnie always gave me the best cut. Also, it was an "old time" barbershop, complete with a cast of interesting characters, witty banter, and all kinds of crazy signs and bric-a-brac. As I got older, and worked out in the Hampton's in the summer for a time, I would go there for cuts, and Vinnie, knowing I worked in fancy-ass restaurants would say "tell them you went to Vincent's of Amagansett" - indeed Vinnie, indeed. Recently, I passed by and noticed Vinnie's son has taken over - proudly carrying on a tradition for many locals and visitors alike who have waited in the small shop, and feeling as if you are experiencing something from a bygone era. Friendly conversation, dirty jokes (until a woman comes in dragging her kid for a haircut, then out of respect, the conversation is quickly cleaned up) and a GREAT haircut. It makes me happy to know that places like this continue to thrive in todays world of chain stores and impersonal service. Great barbershop. Vinny or Nick do a great job. Reasonable price, and quick to get a hair cut. Sometimes a wait but always moves quickly.

If you claim to be a man, then stop wasting your time at all the other "barber shops" between Montauk and Southampton. I've been to 'em all, and they just don't get it right. Vinnie's Barber Shop is the only place you should frequent. I don't care how long the drive is. I spent 4 weeks on the road, and by the end of it, my head looked like a cabbage patch kid. I drove back home directly from Savannah, Georgia to Amagansett, NY. Didn't stop at home. Where did I go first? Exactly. read more

Sadly, one of the last, if not THE last, mom and pop (dad and son) businesses left in East Hampton. A friendly, "old boys club" kind of place. Everyone knows each other and has something nice to say. Took my son there for his first haircut and now I'm bringing my grandson there. Vinnie remembers everyone. read more

A throw back barber shop. You will get a great cut and enjoy yourself amongst some great folks. It's the type of shop granddad would take you to when you were a little kid. Worst haircut ever. I went in there and he was rude and surly to me. Then, during my haircut he went to go talk to his friends who just hang around the barbershop. The cherry on the cake was the actual haircut. It was dreadful. Way shorter then I asked for and uneven. I do not recommend anyone going there. read more

I have been going to Vinnies for more years then I remember...It does not matter if its Vinnie or Nick. Your haircut will be perfect. Just like the shop, the customers and experience of "Going to Vinnies to get my haircut" ...Its a truly American experience. To go anywhere else is Un-american at best, sac religious at worse. Even though the shop is new (Then again, I still call the designated hitter an experiment, the 3 point shot a gimmick, and the AFL that new league) Its great. If there's a wait...Enjoy it. read more
