The Worst must insulting doctor ever! He does not care about his patients. He first said that my high blood pressure, high heart, and palpitations must be from drug (specifically he accused me of cocaine usage) and then after more tests came back he said it must be that I need to diet and exercise mind you I'm 5'4 125lb and have never had a problem exercising up until 4 months ago and now I can't even get on a treadmill for 8 min (walking) with out my heart getting over 180bpm. Please, please listen to the reviews and don't see this doctor. It is dangerous for your health! I have never walked out of a drs apt before but today I literally had to. Stay away from this Doctor! He walked into my appointment confrontational and I felt talked down to the entire time. I walked out of that appointment feeling stressed and upset. The only thing that he made me do was to not seek help for my heart condition, and the is the last thing that any patient should feel. I will never see him again and I recommend looking elsewhere, literally anywhere but Dr Gupta for help. read more

Absolutely AWFUL experience! Highly recommend you check this Dr's google reviews as well. I see a common trend of people having a terrible experience and his total lack of caring. My stepmom was sent to see this Dr after having an EKG after having a TIA. He walked in late, listened to her heart, and said..."You old! Your heart is enlarged because your old, and your heart is leaking because your old". Thats all she got from him after scheduling this appointment and waiting for 12 weeks to see him. He didnt mention the results of the EKG she took after the TIA and said he didn't have the results. She told him he did have the results as his office confirmed they had received them before she came in...he acted annoyed and yelled to the nurse who said "you have them in the file". He didn't bother to even look in the file before he came in to see her. He. Listened to her heart with the stethoscope and told her she was old and to come back in 6 months. He was awful and could care less about her health. This Dr is being sent patients from HMO's, and he is terrible. Consider yourself warned if you go to this Dr. Now we are on the search for another Dr having waisted 3 months waiting on this joker. read more

if you read the Google reviews of Dr. Gupta, you'll find one poor soul who had a heart attack after their initial consultation, and before their stress echo test. My experience was the same - fortunately minus the heart attack. I had been experiencing minor chest pain and tightness (stress I'm sure), so I was referred to Dr. Gupta. On the day of my appointment they called to cancel a couple hours before, stating the doctor had an 'emergency'. When I finally did see him, I waited a least 45 minutes past my time. He spent at the most 5 minutes with me, asking routine questions in a bored tone. I then got the stethoscope 2 times to the front chest, 2 times to the back. That was it, and I was herded to the front to schedule a stress echo test. I had the stress echo test a week later, which I assumed showed no health risks since they scheduled me to come back a week after that for the results. Once again on results day they called and cancelled my appointment 2 hours before, using the 'emergency' excuse. I saw Dr. Gupta the next day, where he once again asked me the same questions in the same bored tone. He seemed ready to end the meeting, so i reminded him i was waiting on the stress test results. He then consulted a laptop for the details, told me everything was 100% and that he was "very, very happy with me". I wish the feeling was mutual. Im in the middle of my cardio lite nuclear stress test. After the first part I am told that dr Gupta cannot come in as his car won't start so I have a choice of waiting another 2 hours until he or a nurse practitioner can come in. I said why is he not ubering here? I have radio active fluid in me and an open drip stent in my arm. I have not eaten and have blocked my morning and I have driven 45 minutes inrush hour. This is not the way a doctor should treat a patient. I'd say look for another doctor as this one clearly is highly selfish and would rather inconvenience a patient then take an Uber and inconvenience himself. I thought doctors took an oath to look after the patients best interests and not their own. Shame on you Dr Gupta. I'm saddened and also in pain because the needle was taken out of my arm and the hairs on my arm and chest were pulled out. Dr Gupta spent only a couple minutes with me. He didn't answer any of my questions. He was dismissive and terse. Scheduled me for a stress test a six weeks out and cancelled 20 mins prior to the appointment, only to offer another appointment a month later. This whole time I'm dealing with palpatations and I don't undertand why. I'm never going back there. read more

Saw Dr. Gupta today for the first time. He popped in for maybe 30 seconds, asked maybe five questions, slapped the stethoscope on me, then proclaimed "We're going to schedule you for a stress test.". That was it. Well, ok, in all fairness, it was closer to maybe a full minute, but just barely. Needless to say, I'm not going back for the stress test, or for anything. I think a paper clip has more bedside manner than this guy. Based on this underwhelming experience, I think I'd rather not place my health concerns into the hands of one who clearly thought he had better things to do than see his patients. read more

In my entire life this was the worst medical experience I've ever had. Dr. Gupta rushed me out of his office after telling me that I had mitral valve prolapse. He did not even take one minute to explain to me the condition or what I should or should not do because of it. Because of this I sought out a second opinion which was very thorough. The doctor who I went to told me that it was impossible that I had mitral valve prolapse; she viewed a very thorough echocardiogram and said I did not have the condition at all! He misdiagnosed me entirely! The only way that he could've possibly thought that I had mitral valve prolapse would be if he were reading someone else's chart! If you care at all about whether or not you have a heart condition steer clear of Dr. Gupta- he is grossly incompetent. read more

I wish there were a rating less than one star, maybe like a negative 5, to describe my impression of this so-called cardiologist. A few weeks prior to my first visit to Dr. Gupta, I was hospitalized for 3 days due to atrial fibrillation. Upon release from the hospital, I was advised to see a cardiologist asap. My HMO gave me a choice between Dr. Gupta, and another cardiologist, whose office happens to be across the hall from him. I looked up whatever reviews and ratings I could find online, and discovered both of these doctors had poor reputations. I was stuck between a rock and a hard place, so I gambled on Dr. Gupta. During my first visit, he spent 5 or 10 minutes with me, asked me some routine questions without looking up from his notes, hardly making eye contact, then told me to schedule an echo cardiogram and a stress test. When I told him I just had those tests done in the hospital 2 weeks prior, he didn't seem interested in looking at those results, and wanted to repeat them in his office. I am surprised my HMO even went along with this, as it seems redundant and unnecessary, and just a way to collect more money from my Medi-Cal based insurance. He also ordered for me to wear a portable heart monitor for 24 hours, to record any noteworthy "events." After the tests, I scheduled a follow up to get the results. It came as no surprise that he had uncovered nothing new. He "diagnosed" me with having some "problems" like a fast and irregular heartbeat. I already knew that, and so did all my other doctors, both in and out of the hospital. It's called atrial fibrillation, something I have experienced episodically over the past 10 years, The real kicker was his treatment plan for me: keep taking the same beta blocker I have been on for about 15 years, and add a powerful blood thinner in place of the aspirin I was taking. My insurance would not cover the relatively new and expensive blood thinner he prescribed, so he changed it to warfarin, a drug from the 1950's that I was normally given in the hospital. Anyone taking warfarin needs to be constantly and carefully monitored to maintain their blood at the right consistency. He never explained anything to me about what he was prescribing. I have not heard from him regarding any need for monitoring either. Only by my own online research did I discover the dangers of this medication, and the need for monitoring, as well as potentially harmful interactions with other medications I was taking. I think any reasonable person would consider this a form of malpractice. I decided not to take warfarin after finding out that many scientific studies have shown that many healthy foods I eat and supplements that I happen to take are also potent blood thinners, but don't carry the risks of warfarin, such as bleeding in the brain. I will not be continuing as a patient of Dr. Gupta, because I value my life and my health. read more
