I said Sharon was really helpful the other day, meaning when I called for an appointment. Sharon led me to the medical room, took my blood pressure (120/74?), gave me an EKG. When she left I raised the curtain to check the view. Somehow the wide windows and trees make the freeway and onramp look attractive. While waiting, I skimmed the "Good Nutrition" brochure. When Yesenia arrived she gave me what I most want and need: information. Other professionals often just sit typing at the computer, silent. Yesenia kept me fully apprised; admitted she was consulting AI. That's okay with me, I said, as long as an intelligent mind is sorting the response. Yesenia does all those things, so when searching for a word of thanks, I could only acknowledge her as "Exceptional." You run a great office, Dr. Shenkman.

That's where I was 2.5 years ago. A fellow co-worker of mine died at work because of a heart attack and it motivated me to examine my health. My family history is riddled with early heart disease and strokes. I had extremely high cholesterol, fatigue, chest pain, and other classic symptoms but being a young 46 year old at the time, and not overweight, I figured I was just overworked and stressed out. While that was true, Dr. Ben-Zur quickly gave me a reality check that something more was going on. He rapidly diagnosed my problem and convinced me that I needed an angiogram. That test showed that I had 2 blocked arteries at 100% and another at 95%. A triple bypass was drastically required. Throughout all of it, Dr. Ben-Zur was there supporting me and my family through the whirlwind process. As an interventionist, he didn't perform my bypass, but he helped me find a thoracic surgeon, and now Dr. Ben-Zur currently provides all of my post surgery aftercare. I owe him my life because I was on the fast track to a full on heart attack. We've formed a great health care relationship. Trying to find a cardiologist is difficult. There are so many choices. Who do you trust? Is this person knowledgeable? Are they personable? Can I depend on them with my life? Its these kinds of questions that actually prevent you from doing something because dealing with heart issues is scary. Its so easy to deny and think those chest pains are nothing and going to some random doctor in the phone book is sketchy at best. So, take these questions out of the equation and visit Dr. Ben-Zur to be certain. If you have a heart problem, he'll find it. He'll run the proper tests, you'll feel comfortable and I promise you he'll help alleviate your anxiety regarding your heart issue. Dr. Ben-Zur's team is also top notch. Incredibly personable, friendly, and always looking out for your best interest. They helped me with filing my disability claim during the recovery process. They keep me motivated to exercise and eat the right things. The office is relaxing and inviting. The walls are covered in photos and testimonies of the people who's lives Dr. Ben-Zur has saved. Take confidence that you're in the right place. Quite simply, he's the doctor you're looking for.

I called the office and they said there was nothing that could be done because they sent it to a collection office. After fighting with the collection office for wha seemed like forever I finally gave up and paid a 600 dollar bill and it has hurt my credit as well. He answers all questions and doesn't treat your own concerns as a cardiac patient as being trivial in any way. He is also conservative and cautious when it comes to making decisions so you know all the options. He has seen me through a very rough period health wise, and I trust him completely. Don't hesitate to put your trust in this very capable and caring health care professional. Finally, his staff is wonderful and the office is well run, no waiting or overbooking of too many patients at one time.

That alone speaks volumes about the trust and confidence we have in him. What truly sets Dr. Lakhani apart is his unwavering passion for his patients. He doesn't just treat conditions; he treats people. He always takes the time to connect on a personal level, making my mom feel seen and heard. This is especially meaningful as my mom now lives with dementia, and Dr. Lakhni consistently approaches her with incredible patience and humor, ensuring her comfort and understanding during every visit. Beyond his compassionate bedside manner, Dr. Lakhni is a fierce advocate for his patients health. He's been instrumental in fighting tooth and nail for my mom's well-being, even (throughout the years) going toe-to-toe with other doctors to ensure she receives the absolute best treatment and care. It's rare to find a doctor who champions their patients so intensely, and it's something our family deeply appreciates. The entire office staff, especially Olivia, truly mirrors Dr. Lakhni's dedication, always demonstrating remarkable understanding and compassion. If you're looking for a cardiologist who combines expertise with genuine care, who will fight for your health as if you were family, and who truly embodies the meaning of patient-centered care, I cannot recommend him enough. He's not just a doctor; he's a true heart champion!!!! Thank you, Dr Lakhani, for taking such great care of my mom theoughtout the years. We love you guys soooo much!!!!

I am currently giving this practice three stars, although I plan to give the doctor and staff…read moreanother opportunity before making a final judgment. My initial experience with Sam, the nurse practitioner, and the physician assistant was very pleasant. They were warm, professional, and made me feel optimistic that I had found a family practice where I could establish long-term care. Unfortunately, my experience changed after my laboratory results became available. A receptionist named Britney called me and immediately began discussing my results without first asking whether I was in a private place or prepared to receive medical information. I was at work and had to interrupt her and ask her to wait while I moved somewhere private. I had assumed she was calling only to schedule a follow-up appointment. I believe staff members discussing medical information should always confirm that the patient is able to speak privately before sharing results. When I returned for my follow-up appointment, there also appeared to be some confusion at the front desk. Although I had confirmed my appointment the previous day, the doctor stated that he had not known I was coming and had taken another patient before me. He apologized, but the delay made me late for work. Once I was called back, the process felt rushed. I was quickly directed onto the scale and then placed in a room with a medical student. I was not asked whether I was comfortable having a student participate in my appointment. The student repeatedly described my hormonal status in a way that did not match what I had previously been told, and our discussion about vitamin D supplementation felt dismissive rather than collaborative. I was also uncomfortable with the student shifting and rocking from side to side in my peripheral vision while the doctor discussed some concerning health information. That made an already stressful conversation more difficult. Later, when the doctor returned and spoke with me privately, the interaction was much more comfortable. He was pleasant, made eye contact, explained things more clearly, and ultimately did a good job addressing my concerns. I wish the receptionist had demonstrated a better understanding of patient privacy, that I had been asked for consent before a medical student joined the appointment, and that the visit had not felt so rushed. Staffing problems, scheduling confusion, and the absence of a manager may explain why the office was having a difficult day, but patients should not have to absorb the consequences. Overall, the doctor handled the appointment well toward the end, and my first visit with the other clinical staff had been positive. I spent considerable time researching family-practice physicians because I hoped to establish ongoing care here. For that reason, I am willing to give the doctor and the office another chance before deciding whether this practice is the right fit for me.
