This was our first time at the El Centro location. If this is your first time coming to Hope's take…read morethe time and go to the Calexico location. The server seemed like she was having an off day. We are all entitled to a bad day but if it's that bad then call in sick. Our server was grouchy from the jump, then she brought the salad we ordered with ranch when it's advertised with a vinaigrette. I asked her if she could bring the vinaigrette and she half-way turned around and says we are out with an eye roll . So I asked her to take the salad back which made her even grumpier. She takes it to the kitchen then comes back with it and ask if I'm sure and I said Yes, Take it back and MAGICALLY comes back with a to-go vinaigrette. I will say the only one on the grumpy train was her, but having it be the first time there it was just a no-go for us.

I'd been having good luck selling items on eBay that I had bought here if their value was more than the $5 ea I paid (since raised to $5.99) so as long as I was here I stopped to check it out. I ended up finding more of the items I was selling so I bought another dozen of them! If I'd known I would have such success and eventually run out I should have bought every one they had in stock! This store is in a strip mall and is much smaller than the store in La Mesa I go to and much more crowded. The clerks were nice enough but the store was much messier than I'm used to.

I passed a few customers but walked, searching for shoes for 15 minutes without seeing an employee. I finally found someone and they helped me find the shoe department. But no one was there to get shoes and no one was at the cashier to pay if you found something. Found someone in Active shoes who was very helpful but no sandals that I wanted. So sorry that it's not thriving. Don't think I would go back except for Sephora. Weird.
