The people working there were so good with helping pick out wines as well as being friendly enough to chat about other things and just be good blokes. The shop is set up really nice and feels like an old cellar where they sell their vintage wines at amazing prices. If you're into your wines then this is a great place to pick up a bargain and impress people at your next outing. I ended up stocking up a little more than I should've but it was totally worth it. The mix of good local and international wines with all of the different blends and styles means you will always find a perfect drop for any occasion. Definitely a great bottle shop to visit!!

What I love about it is the availability of Victorian made products with a smattering of interesting overseas offerings. And their table wine is pretty reasonable too. It's always a pleasure talking to the staff as we learn something new each time. Sometimes I feel as though we are following their brew adventures as they hunt down new stock. The pride in and knowledge of their stock makes me feel that Dave, the guy who runs it, is more of a curator than a shopkeeper. There are regular tastings and at Christmas they made up some microbrew mixed six packs so we could introduce these lovely drops to others. Awesome. Now, if only their stall was a bit bigger ;)

That said, although Swords is known primarily for its huge variety of interesting beers, they also have a great collection of cider (which I am very agreeable to on a hot day in the sun). The staff here are friendly and knowledgeable about all things hoppy and boozy - they'll point you in the direction of something new and interesting and send you on your merry way with a mixed selection of things to try. One of the girls who works here, Lucy, applies a similar language to beer as one would with wine and it's an absolute treat to have her serve you if you want to geek out. On my most recent visit I went home with three new ciders - an interesting cloudy pear version (Perry), a regular clear apple cider from the Adelaide Hills and a little Victorian number which all went down a treat at an outdoor BBQ.

We were served by a person who not provide us with any napkins. He even poured the different tastings into the same glass, unbelievable. This was an expensive tasting that really left us with a bad taste in our mouths due to how bad the whole experience was. I WOULD DEFINITELY NOT RECOMMEND ANYONE TO PAY FOR A CHANDON TASTING AS UT WAS JUST AWFUL AND A COMPLETE WASTE IF MONEY.

My mum, brother and I walked in the store to get a birthday present for mums friend. Mum explained that (obviously) she was the one buying this ONE bottle of vodka and it was for a birthday present, the man kept pushing, getting more and more agitated and rude. We then got to the counter where he and another staff member, Lucinda, started aggressively and very confusingly trying to explain "the law" to us, that because my brother and i were simply in the shop with our mum, they wouldn't sell her a nearly $100 bottle of Grey Goose vodka, as there was "suspicion we were taking part in the decision making". As they clearly didn't know what they were talking about, they dug their grave so deep they let loose that it is 100% up to the staffs discretion whether or not they could to mum. I presented them with my ID (which they have accepted in the pass) in an attempt to calm the staff down and bring a little common sense into the picture. They declined my ID just to be spiteful. These two staff members were incredibly rude, patronising, and frankly had no idea what they were talking about.
