I have used vintage for my comics for three years now. I have a pull list and they are great. Nearly everyone knows me by name, they have learned what authors and artists I like. The will even add books to my box if the cover is by a specific artist they know I like. If I don't want the book no pressure to keep it. Occasionally a book or two gets missed but I have 20+ books on my list and everyone makes mistakes. read more

Waste of time looking for ANY video game, Funko, comic, etc in this store! The store prices all items based on the past sales prices on eBay so save your gas and save your time and just buy from eBay. Why would you pay the same price as eBay when eBay will ship the package right to your door? Apart from the price gouging, the store staff was also rude. I don't know why anyone would shop here. This was last year, but the manager was extremely rude to me when I asked to use the bathroom. He said he had worked there for several years, and that was the policy. It is a city ordinance that businesses in Springfield have a public bathroom. However, due to homeless and drug use, a lot of businesses break that rule. But I was in there to buy a playstation 5 with my teenage son. This dude needs to get out of customer service. We haven't been back since!! Gamestop gets my money! Pretty awesome store! Friendly staff. A wide variety of both retro and modern games. A pretty big movie section and a decent vinyl section. This chain has evolved since the early 90s (Book Barn, Caveman Comics, etc.). They have become more of a media store than a comic book store in recent years. Upon entering, you will see a diverse selection of neat stuff that covers the entire spectrum of geek entertainment media ranging from collectible toys from the 80s, video games, used bluerays, and rare posters. These things exist on the internet, but it's nice to see them with your own eyes on a store shelf. Surprisingly, it's their collection of comics and graphic novels that is lacking. I often look for trades of The Walking Dead and Preacher, but most of the time they are out of stock. The employees don't seem to know much about the medium either, so you might be better off finding another store that specializes in comics if that is what you want. I once asked an employee about premium mylar comic book bags and the kid didn't have a clue. He actually referred me to Hobby Lobby, which is ridiculous. As a video game store, it fares a little better. Their selection is surprisingly good. It's nice to see an entire section devoted to PS2 games, when Game Stop hardly has any at all. I've been somewhat impressed with the condition of my game purchases, as the disks are rarely scratched all to hell (the way Game Stop's are). Their pricing is often lackluster, but this can be offset by their online coupons (for which you can sign up) and their frequent 3-for-the-price-of-2 sales. In the end, these deals can average out the prices to where they should be. Even so, Amazon often beats Vintage Stock's used game prices with brand new, sealed games. I use Vintage Stock as a secondary resource, when I can't find a specific game I'm looking for on the internet. The real value that Vintage Stock provides is a physical location that you can visit, allowing you to see large collections of cool stuff all in one place. Went in there and was at first happy they had such a wide selection; retro games, card games, etc. Then I seen they were overcharging, $35-40 for Final Fantasy VIII, when you can currently get that game on eBay for $10-20. Whatever. I paid a premium for two PS2 controllers. I'm impatient and only getting screwed on at most $10. Later, I decided I just didn't want them. So, both stores told me I wasn't allowed to return ANY new item that has been opened. Next time I will go to Wal-Mart, eBay, ask friends, or Amazon. Vintage Stock can screw off. I've gone to many of the vstock locations in St Louis. And I've always been fine and the selections decent, so the prices may be high. So I decided I would go to the location and Springfield when I was there on a trip. After browsing for a little while I had to go to the bathroom. It turns out, they do not have a public restroom. So I checked out with the couple of things that I had in my hand and left the store. Needless to say, there will be no return visits. read more

Somehow he managed to destroy a game, just before i bought it. That's wasted gas because i had to drive all the way home and all the way back to return it. :/ plus the game sucked. read more

Vintage stock is a fun place to go and look for old games. I have found some rare gems at Vintage stock and if you don't snatch them up when you find them you may never have a chance again. So much for that Nintendo power glove I saw there about a year ago for 50 bucks...Man I still hate myself for not buying it although I had the money. Anyway I digress. Most of the time this is the best place to find games for any consoles from the Atari to the Xbox 1 and PS4. I am more of an old school video gamer so this is totally my favorite place to window shop. Not only do they have a bunch of vintage games but they have vintage toys, cds records, game systems and posters as well. If you want a specific game you just tell them and when or if it comes in they will call you. However my biggest complaint is the last couple of times I have done this I never received a call and then I would go to vintage stock and see the game sitting there, so just be aware they do not always remember to call you. Another complaint is the prices they give you for used games. I brought in about 10 PS2 games I did not want anymore, and the guy got really excited about one of the call of duty ones I had...I thought maybe I had given him a rare gem and would be getting a bit more money from that, but no, those 10 PS2 games including the rare one only got me five bucks of trade in credit, which if you have been to Vintage stock nothing there (except for atari games) is under five bucks. The customer service is horrible here. Anytime my wife and I go here the workers make our visit very stressful and not fun. We went into Vintage stock to get a few of our xbox games fixed, we stood there for almost an hour before we went up and asked them if the games were almost close to finishing. The worker standing there said "um, I do not know... I will look". But he did not, nor did he ask anyone else. We stood there another 15 minutes waiting for some sort of answer, but they were waiting on every person in there but us. When my wife went up to ask what was going on they said that there was a problem with the machine and they would get to it when they got to it. Which none of this they even said to us nor even would talk us. I did not even see anyone even working on the games anyways. Our other incident was a month before this, we went in to sell games we never use anymore and it was the same worker that assisted us before. He is rude! I was asking questions about what was on the paper and I was not being rude or bossy and all the worker simply said was "So, the game is pre-owned and that is the way it is". There was no need for all the rudeness. I am really not happy at all with their customer service. Their prices are fair and decent though, and they have a nice selection of comic books and older game accessories/etc. read more
