We moved and this company does not service the alarm where we currently moved to. They offered to move the alarm from our previous location but why would I move an inferior alarm system to the home we are at now. They asked us to disconnect the alarm where we were living at previously and have failed to let us out of contract. They are no longer monitoring our home where we were and still will not let us out of contract. Other companies let you out of contract when you move. Beware this one does not! I understand we still have some time left but even then other companies do not charge you for leaving. At least if could work out a solution where we could pay less for letting us out but the amount they want to charge us is exorbitant. We had to move for health reasons and they still don't care. Terrible customer service over the past year we have had two instances where we needed customer support. Both times took multiple attempts to contact. When did finally connect we were told tech support would call back those calls never came. The latest issue has so far resulted in 5 days with out A/C in 100 degree plus weather and still not done. Leaving this review in a thread that people will see, despite being a customer in Austin, TX. We have had this company for three years and wanted to cancel our service. When I called several months ago in June, prior the end of my contract, the guy I spoke to mentioned that after the contract expires, it goes month-to-month, which was a fucking lie. Or the guy was an idiot. However, based on this presumption, we did not send in a letter to cancel because we were leaving on vacation. I called back in July and received the information about cancellation, but apparently that wouldn't have mattered anyway because you have to send a letter 30 days before the contract ends, which I just found out tonight (early Sept). When I called in July not one mentioned the 30 days prior to service ending. So that is twice that I was not told that I had to submit 30 days in advance. Over the course of the last three weeks, I have called four times, left a voice message, and had two tickets opened from GHS. Never once did I get a call back. I called again tonight and was able to speak to someone who first tried to sell me on more services, less prices, the fact that company I was going to was "new" and not as sophisticated, etc. I wasn't having it and insisted that someone come pick up their equipment, at which point the rep said, well, "It automatically renews according to your contract." I demanded to speak to a supervisor and he said he was the supervisor and that his bosses put him there so they don't have to deal with customers. I asked repeatedly asked why my calls weren't being returned, despite the voicemails and tickets. He had no answer, despite being a "supervisor." I called back and asked to speak to someone in customer service and was redirected to a manager who is supposed to call me back...wait and see... Don't use this company unless you want to be misled by its representatives and agents who claim to be supervisors, but have no power and no authority except to sell you more shit, and no good answer as to why they have shitty customer service. read more

As a previous employee I'll like to say this is one of the most unprofessional companies I've ever worked for. They laid a lot of us off last Monday without any notification or heads up. They allowed us to work 75 percent of our shift then let us know. The company requires customers to send a cancellation letter 30 days prior to contract ending. They wouldn't upload them and keep the customers account in auto renewal for years. They have poor equipment and takes months for a technician to go do a service. They make promises to customers and don't keep them and let the agents take the fall for it. Management is poor along with the overall communication as a whole. Worst company ever!!! Cancelling with them is a drawn out process designed to make you give up. They have no ability to cancel online, or through your logged in account. When you call they always tell you that their cancelation department is in a meeting or out. They say you will be contacted back in 72 hours. When they do call you back they leave a message with the same phone number that doesn't let you get back in touch. They are unable to transfer you to a manger to help. They finally want a written letter in the physical mail (no email) before they can cancel you. In which case then they will tell you after they have received it if there is any remaining balance on your account. This is designed to keep you locked in, and not at all here to help you. 6:00PM on a Friday, I get a knock on the door. It's a sales rep. After 15 minutes of them telling me how they're not here to twist my arm, I tell them I'm not making any decisions until my wife can look and review it. Then they decide they're gonna wait for my wife. She arrives and we tell them we want to take time to research, they start pressuring. I ask, what happened to "we're not here to twist your arm"?. Finally after more debate we tell them we're not interested, end of story, goodbye. The sad part is, the initial girl that knocked on the door and spoke with me was nice and had the guy not showed up being a pushy used car salesman, we probably would have signed up. Their service may be great, I'll never know cause their sales people are pushy, came to my house way too late in the day, and asked a lot of inappropriate questions about my home. ie., who lives there, when are we home, do we have a dog, do we travel, etc. Red flag just in those questions. UPDATE:. I just got a notification from my credit monitoring, these bastards ran a hard inquiry on me! How the hell?? Update... they are still a scam. You have a tiny window to cancel your contract. You have to do it in a particular month, in writing, a certified letter mind you (email fax and voice doesn't work) then they have to receive and then they got to confirm the request. Well today i called to follow up.... the CANCEL option lead to nothing... no one would answer... call to PAY BILL answer on first ring... asked the customer service agent about cancelling she said they aren't going to be in ... Pandemic and all... and even then it can take up to 14 days for them to return the confirmation cancellation phone so decreasing the window of cancellation down to 2 weeks.... if they dodge the letter for 2 weeks boom your screwed again... so I am warning you... DO NOT EVER USE THEM... The cancellation policy is the worst part, but everything else was a rip off. The two cameras they installed never worked, the only thing that did work was if you left a door open but there was no way to know what was working or not. I AM THE DUMB ONE HERE.... Just following up on what I see is a common trend.. they come around as the sun's going down while yelling up and down the street to each other. The guy I got asked a handful of questions about my car out front and then started on some speech about how they're doing some 'promotion' for systems before their sales team comes through. The guy seemed really unprofessional, couldn't stand still and the 'coupon' I got given had obviously been handed to a bunch of people before. Then he called in his 'manager', whoever to tell me all the free stuff I was gonna get. This door-knocking, gimmicky, stuff doesn't inspire me to purchase a system if that's how a company does business. UPDATE 3/17/15: After a copy-paste reply from Heather that just about everyone seems to get, which bothers me they deem it necessary to even have a complaint-response template, some different guys came around again tonight (at 8:30pm!) with the same 'promotion' as last time. You want the latest in new technology in security systems go with these guys. Their system is awesome. ADT is so behind it's not even funny. Glad I switched over to GHS. I can monitor everything from anywhere on my phone. No need to install camera security for your home because they do it for you and you can answer the door or see who is outside your home right from your phone or devices. Motion sensors and doorbell alarm you on your device. You can let people in or out of your house without even being home. So much more to this system too. I can't say enough about it. Do NOT use this security service. We canceled our service in November 2017 because we sold our house. GHS is STILL withdrawing money from our account. We've phoned, emailed, filled in the customer service form on their website, and faxed--numerous times. Each time we've managed to speak with someone, this someone (Isabelle, Anna, Trevor, and others) has each said that they will take care of this. To no effect. Do not trust this company. Do not use this service. While the representatives are nice, they don't communicate with each other, they don't follow up with their customers, and they will take your money even past cancellation of services. We are pursuing other avenues to stop GHS from taking our money. If I can give zero stars, I would. The hassle they're putting us through to simply cancel out service and end their withdrawing our money isn't worth using their service. read more

I just called to confirm that this was the final month, and I was told that since I didn't send them a letter (snail mail, not even email) that I want to cancel, I'm locked in for another year. I was told to call 911 by DPD dispatcher when a man arrived after dark and knocked on our door to inquire about the details of our security system. When my husband said we were not interested, the man got agitated and kept asking "why not??!!". Dallas police were given the name of this company as well as the description of the solicitor at the door, and the neighborhood was alerted via NextDoor. Multiple neighbor's reported similar experiences. This company is NOT welcome in Old Lake Highlands, and neighbor's have been encouraged by DPD to call 911 the next time solicitors knock on doors, and specially after hours. This is unacceptable and overwhelmingly unprofessional in this day and age. read more

At tip on GHS Interactive security ( http://www.ghssecurity.com) ! When you sign for example a 2 year contract, at the end of the contract when it (the service) automatically renews, instead of just continue to renew your service month-to-month they extend your contract by 1 year. Additionally, even though we live in a modern age, and they have all the information to identify you, bill you etc... they will not accept cancellation unless in writing. If you try to exit the contract before the forever-renewing contract they bill you for the remaining term, in its entirety. Apparently there are no supervisors able to override the policy. read more

I have had service for 19 months and they cannot secure an outside building. Call for service and they don't come and don't know why. Techs ask me not to call, they would come by and provide new equipment. It doesn't help. They're very loud alarm goes off every minute ,about every few months, although they have no record of all my calls for help. Something is always going wrong with the equipment inside also. I called and talked to Martin today. He refuses to cancel my account. Why do I have to honor a contract GSH cannot honor? I'm looking for state and federal services to complain. I should not be left indefinitely without an alarm system I pay for because their office refuses to log my complaints and calls for 1 1/2 years. Now I'm being threatened to be sent to collection because they have bad products and services. I am going to contact credit services next. I don't want to hear any more threats and excuses. I want out and do not recommend this company to anyone. If I could go lower I would do it. Every other company in the world now notifies you when your contract is about to expire. Amazon tells me when my renewal is about to occur. Chewy tells me when my auto ship is about to happen. This company uses the auto renewal as a method to make another years pay off of you. Called two weeks after our contract renewed..... response oh you missed the renewal date so you need to pay for the entire year. These guys nickel and dime you through the entire operation. Oh. My. God. I know that anyone reading this has likely just closed the door after being solicited by a "promoter" ("I don't work in SALES!" he said) to sign up for this alarm system. I am still in shock. The knock came at 7pm, and my husband went outside to see who was there. It was a nice young guy named Chris in a neon yellow vest that announced himself to be with GHS. He started asking a lot of personal questions like if we currently have an alarm system, if we have kids/pets, etc He then started telling my husband about the program. I happened to walk in on the pitch, and was sucked in, too. Some guy jumps out of a white van and starts running (no, literally, running) towards my front door. I stop listening to Chris on my porch and just stare at this guy bolting at my home. Chris stopped talking and just smiled. So, this other guy, Alex comes up. Talking like the micromachines guy, telling me he's ready to kick off his shoes and come into my house to show me his sales pitch on his tablet. We told him we didn't want him to come in, and he asked what's holding us back. We just simply told him we aren't interested to which he starts asking what kind of electronic set-up we have, if there are any valuables in my home we want to protect. It's pitch black outside, I don't know you, and you are asking if I have things that are valuable. WTH. He tells me he's not in sales, and just a promoter, and that the first "10 people" get a "deal" of some sort, at which, like clockwork, some guy in the van in front of my house yells, "I just sold the 9th, I'm going to head down to their house to install, and he rolls down the block." CHEESIEST sales pitch/act I have ever seen in my life. This ain't my first rodeo, cowboy!! ;) Anyway - I lost about 15 minutes of my life with this guy, Alex, talking to me. (I'll admit, I don't like to be rude, and I could have made this last 2 minutes) I finally stopped him, and asked him if he has ever purchased anything from Amazon. He said he hadn't (yeah, right). I asked Chris if he had, and he just laughed and said he has. I told him that I like to read customer reviews before investing in anything just so I can get an idea of what I'm getting into. Alex pulled up the BBB on his tablet and showed me his A+ rating, but I told him I wanted to see what Yelp or another site said. He said that he is the one that responds to Yelp comments? (or is it Heather? Who ARE these people?!) He said that the comments all have to do with them knocking on doors and that people don't like the "lost art" of knocking on doors. LOL LOL LOL :D So we told him we didn't want a system, and he just kept asking what is holding us back. Steer clear people. The customer service at this company is seriously lacking. Door to door sales aside, that part didn't even bother me, the product itself is a racket. We signed up for the Gold package, which at the time was to include a camera sensor or remote temp control. We opted for the camera sensor. This sensor malfunctioned numerous times and the police were sent out to my house on several occasions because of this malfunction. We called multiple times to complain, and finally had the camera sensor removed. At the time, there was no other suggestion given to make this right for us. We asked to have the temperature control installed, and never heard back from a supervisor. I dropped it. I felt very stuck in a contract where they weren't holding up their end of the bargain. Customer service 101 fail. They even threw out terms like 'breach of contract' & 'negative impact to your credit' when I asked to get out of this 3 year commitment. HEY! Aren't you the ones breaching contract here? The equipment I have is not what I was promised...and that seems to be fine with you guys. Fast forward about a year, and we're having more problems with the regular sensors. Fine. I called yesterday and asked for someone to come out, and also asked to speak to a supervisor regarding the gap of upgraded service (which we hadn't received since the camera sensors were removed). I was assured a manager would call me back yesterday. No surprise, that didn't happen. So, this time I called back today. The girl on the phone (Alex) was VERY helpful and smart and seemed to really understand my frustration. She's once again assured me that I will be hearing from a supervisor regarding my request to get the upgraded equipment I've been paying for this whole time. I'm not holding my breath. The good news is that the service tech actually DID come out when expected (and they always do), and has apparently fixed the current sensor issue (we'll see). In a nutshell: 1. You can get basic alarm service for a fraction of the price. 2. Their "upgraded" equipment pretty much sucks. So, unless you really enjoy unwanted police visits to your house, you might want to pass. 3. If you expect any sort of proactive customer service to stop you from writing scathing reviews on Yelp...look somewhere else. In closing, I'm not a jerk.
