Great shore dives as first timers in Bonaire. Our guide, Nicole, was amazing. She was patient with us. It has been a year and a half since we last dove...so this was appreciated. In addition, she took extra care to lead me by hand into the water (surges were present) and I was racked with sea sickness on the second day. Despite my shame, was kind, helpful and attentive. VIP never disappoints. From check in, to the welcome coffee, to the A+ service on land, in the truck and in the water. We just completed five days of two nitox tank dives per day. All the guides and staff are great but a special shout out to Nicole who went above and beyond to help us with EVERYTHING from gear adjustments, to assisting throughout the "getting ready" process to "getting out." She was expert at finding many creatures and helped us to enjoy the best of Bonaire's reefs. She found octopus, turtles, eels and squid among many small and delicate sea life. Guided shore diving is the way to go when you want to concentrate on enjoying your dives and not on navigating them! And VIP is by far the best. I cannot say enough good things about the professionalism of the staff here. Probably the best dive shop I've ever encountered -- Caribbean or US! Everything is quite organized. They picked us up on time at the cruise pier and drove our small group of a certified diver and a couple of "scuba experience" divers to their shop. Checked us in. Issued our rental equipment (included in the price). Gave us a quick lesson and reviewed the dive plan. Our guide, Martin, was very professional, patient and had a good sense of humor! First time to Bonaire and VIP Diving ensured that we had a great time! Compared to other dive operations, on other islands, they are more expensive than what I normally pay. However, they do provide an concierge level of service. I felt it was money well spent. read more
