Well, about half of the building is dedicated to Lewis and Clark's journey, and the other half is the Betty Strong Encounter Center which has more artwork and local subjects. I spent a surprising amount of time here. I really like how some of the exhibits discusses Sergeant Floyd's death, which was previously glossed over. I only knew that he was the only death on the trial, but I never knew the circumstances. There's a nearby obelisk that also memorializes his death if you want to further explore the history.

This was amazing and it is a must see for anyone who is wanting to know a little bit about our history in America and a lot about Sioux City. The exhibits are fantastic, the building is gorgeous as is the setting out on the riverfront. There are also lots of other places surrounding it that are locals and tourists alike. There is a dry docked boat museum next-door and there is also a cultural center attached to Lewis and Clark building that is a must as well!! All the way in addition, multimillion dollar improvement done to their waterfront area here that's in that same section. Park your car in their ample parking lot and start walking.

We came here on first leg to see Disney on ice. Our science museum reciprocal membership got us…read morefree admission. Our son couldn't have Venn happier on rainy day. So many things to do here and came before and after Disney on ice. Our son loved the market and cafe that he spent most time here. Afterwards, he did some of the other exhibits nearby. Nice that museum had its own parking lot instead of street parking. Also, all bathrooms have changing tables which was nice. Seating for eating was limited but worked. Overall, it's worth a stop over for your little ones to enjoy.

I was so thankful that at the last minute my husband and three older sons (25, 15 & 13) decided to play golf instead. They would have been bored out of their minds! The girls (9 and 11) had a great time. I did not like the fact that my daughter-in-law, my 20 year old daughter, and I had to pay so much to in reality sit and watch the girls play. If I knew the environment, I would have taken the girls alone and let the other two go out, but hindsight is 20/20. So, in conclusion, take the kids - boys and girls- up to ages 13, and only pay for one adult to sit and supervise! Anything else is a waste of money!

Seeing live music played in Sioux City is not so common for this area. Perhaps I'm wrong, but there…read moremight be only 3-4 venues a week that have decent music playing (rock is what I am referring to as decent music). Unfortunately in this town there are a glut of cover bands that play all of these venues in a regular rotation. The Chesterfield is one of those venues. Don't get me wrong, The Chesterfield also has some unique acts booked at times too. I have seen good local acts that play all of their own music here as well as hearing a range of genres (heavy metal to blues) playing on the stage here. On to the place itself now; this is a narrow place. What I mean is that when you go into The Chesterfield there's a wide area, then as you walk further into the place it narrows considerably as you go by the bar. This is often where bottlenecks occur and you stand with your drink in your hand held up so nobody spills it (if you're lucky) as you try to continue on into the back, where the stage area is located. The stage is definitely big and suited to a variety of acts. The soundboard is professional and rarely do you have trouble hearing the vocals from bands playing. In addition, they have a large fenced-in smoking area (if you are a smoker). The crowd here definitely ranges from one extreme to another. However, I have never seen a fight here yet. The security is pretty good. This is probably one of Sioux City's better music venues.

Mostly it is because their sound system is exceptional(no joke) the venue is great and I've never had a bad experience here.. plus the guy who owns the place is also the guy handing out drinks and I have a lot of respect for that lifestyle.
