Sometimes it feels like everything is better in Europe, including their airport lounges. Finally a lounge that feels like a lounge! Plenty of seating, its big so you aren't feeling cramped. There's actual FOOD rather than sad jail food aka nasty sandwiches and a bag of chips. They don't have strange hours...I can't tell you how many times I've been met with "sorry we're closed" signs back in the states, like yoooo flights happen all day not just from hours of 8 to 10am. Pro tip: Grab a bunch of food from here to go for your connecting flights. Security in europe is more lax if connecting domestically!

The VIP Lounge Puerta Alcalá is located in the heart of Madrid, near the iconic Puerta de Alcalá monument. It is an exclusive lounge designed to offer guests a comfortable and relaxing space while waiting for their flights. The lounge is open to all airline VIP status passengers. The lounge features comfortable seating areas, free Wi-Fi, and a variety of food and beverage options, including snacks, drinks, and alcohol. Guests can also enjoy a selection of magazines and newspapers or catch up on the latest news on TV screens. Additionally, the VIP Lounge Puerta Alcalá offers showers, restrooms, and luggage storage facilities for those who need them. The lounge is open 24 hours a day, seven days a week, making it a convenient option for travelers with early morning or late-night flights. While waiting for our flight from Madrid to Lisbon, we enjoyed the lounge and the food. We had quite a good experience here.

Nice lounge!!! My flight was delayed and we have Priority Pass, so this was a great perk. Located in Terminal 2 around the D gates, this lounge has plenty of seats, a great coffee machine, good snacks, food, and nice wine, beer and soda. Good WIFI and the employees are friendly. The lounge always makes the delay a bit better!!!

As a priority pass member, I was sad to see on the app that there was only one in terminal one at the B Gates and my gate was C. But as we continued walking, we saw this one upstairs and since my dad as the sky lounge pass, we checked it out and found out they accept priority pass! Only plus one guest for each card. This was a pretty huge lounge with tables and chairs, bar seating, and comfy sofa chairs. The food variety was huge! I loved how for their hot foods, they put it in individual bowls for you. They had soup and chicken and pork stews. Lots of drinks for you to pick from - bottled soda, sparkling water, beer, and wine. Coffee was one end. They also had packed sandwiches that were pretty good with the crusts cut off. Great lounge to stay while waiting for your flight! They have the TV's to let you know where your gate will be.

This VIP Lounge Puerta Alcalá might be the best lounge I have ever experienced in Europe so far. The lounge was wide-spaced, bright and clean; there were a great variety of food with authentic Spanish food like jamon, tortilla... etc. We were there during transition time from afternoon snack to dinner and they also served warm dishes which were tasty. The only complaint was the wait, the line was super long during 5pm on a Sunday but the receptionists were nice and patient.

I was happy to see, given airport rules and the fact we were about to board a super long direct flight back to LAX, that despite it being mid-morning, all the drinks were out, by which I mean a decent number of pretty good looking Spanish wines, a decent handful of relatively mid-tier spirits, two amari, vermouth, cans of beer, as well as espresso from an auto-espresso-machine, and several juices. Everything you need to make a whole bunch of cocktails if you're that sort of nerd. (For good and bad, everything's pour-yourself. The upsides are obvious - the main downside was that they didn't have anything for measuring, you just had to pour by eye. That's fine though, I was just making them for myself :D.) Obviously being still mid-morning, I didn't have a chance to try *all* the wines (though one other benefit of being pour-yourself is that made it easy to pour a *small* amount of wine, if you did want to try a couple, which I did (pretty decent.) I was amused to note that the two amari and the vermouth were all classic Italian brands rather than Spanish, though. Also had a solid brandy Negroni and a great Giribaldi (orange juice and amaro :)). And an espresso by itself, which was just decent (decent enough for free, that's for sure.) There wasn't any line for it when we were there (again, mid-morning), either. Food-wise, at the time, there were a handful of different sandwiches, which were all fairly mediocre by themselves. They also had a diy selection of salami and cheese, with olive oil and vinegar. Put those together and you have much better sandwiches! There was plenty of space when we got there - and it was nice that it had a solid 2nd-floor view to outside that got plenty of natural light... even if it was a view of a parking lot, not the runway. If I were paying to get in, though, I dunno. Might still be worth it if we wanted to do a wine tasting while we were there... wine at an airport outside a lounge would be like 15+ bucks a glass. Maybe not mid-morning though. I already miss having a card that let me and my wife into places like that for free, and I haven't flown anywhere else yet since, lol.
