The MEX airport is under construction, so it seems all the lounges moved around. The Priority Pass…read moreshowed this lounge was elsewhere, but I came across it trying to find the Centurion Lounge. I don't know how this lounge got all the good reviews. Seating was limited. Self-served food was subpar and no dishes or utensils. The server gave us a menu and never came back to take our order. We had to order the food at the bar. (Priority Pass gives you one main dish per person and one drink per person. Other items on the menu are separately charged as noted.) I don't have a strong urge to come back. I'd rather check out other lounges if I'm back in Mexico City airport.

It is definitely not a bad way of killing time as they assign you a recliner seat, where you can have wait service for a limited menu of food and soft drink. Comfort level is not bad, but it was too warm for my preference. The place had no AC and it was cooled with some fans blowing lightly. If you are flying Volaris, this is conveniently located and you will find this lounge close to gate 19. They had a limited buffet of soups, salads, and breads. I didn't indulge in that. I thought of ordering a burger but ended up ordering a mollete with cochinita pibil. Wasn't bad but wasn't great either. Also got some cold water and coca cola. The coca cola was served with ice, but the fountain drinks were a little flat. Overall, the experience was okay and far better than being at the gate without inclusive food/drinks. Service was friendly and was happy to have access to clean bathrooms. Apparently, they intermittently have manicures and massages; however, I didn't see that as I came for a relatively late flight.

This means that all the SkyTeam elites and business class passengers are cramming in the lounge. The lounge is always filled with people, and outside there's always a crowd of people waiting to get in. During my most recent visit today, I waited a little bit over an hour to get in. You can only start being on the waitlist 3 hours before your AM flight. To kill some time I went to the VIP lounge across the hall, where the wait was substantially less. I imagine that most people at La Terraza stay here for a while, while VIP lounge people come and go. Like other reviewers mentioned, there's not much food or drinks available for self serve. There's usually tortilla chips and different salsas where you can make chilaquiles. There's some chips, peanuts.. typical bar food, fitting since La Terraza does give off bar vibes. However, if you ask the staff, they'll usually have more items available in the kitchen. In terms of drinks, in self serve area, there isn't much either besides water, soft drinks, coconut water, electrolyte water, non alcoholic beer. All the alcoholic beverages will be ordered by staff/servers or at the bar! For now, this will do until the new AM lounge opens up. La Terraza will remind very crowded until then. Not the best place to "relax" before a flight. No bueno.

Quite a sub par lounge all around. However, I appreciated having this as an option in an airport…read morethat is under reconstruction.

Not much room and the elevator on allowed two people. The stairwell was nearby, but then who wants to walk down stairs with luggages. We weren't sure how far down the lounge would be, so we waited to use the elevator. We arrived at the lounge. Small, clean and quiet lounge. Neat displays, and stocked food and drink items that were located at the food counter. Not one server was around to greet us so we helped ourselves. Everything about this place was small, open setting, nothing fancy. There variety of chairs and tables to choose from. Some seats were very low to sit on. While normal size chairs were available, we preferred the corner area and couch-like seats. Not much eating room with small round tables, but we made do with what were offered. We didn't realize that a QR code was affixed on each table (at least the ones we had). We then placed our breakfast order in no time. Not much to be said about the food, presentation, taste or portioning. The chilaquiles should have been named, enchiladas as it did not appear to look like chilaquiles. Nonetheless, we received our food, a little longer than expected. It wasn't terrible but it wasn't the best vip lounge breakfast. Our server was nothing to glorify about. Either Spanish speaking only or they were just plain and simple servers that did not speak at all. They did look professional in their uniform. Only one bathroom, located by the kitchen and stairs. Overall, not a bad experience

My spouse and I ate the same thing for our entire Mexico City trip, and we managed to stay well, not even an incident of bubbly stomach. Then I ate something at this lounge, alone, while my spouse refused to eat or drink anything... We had an extra hour before our 11:20pm direct flight to JFK last Thursday, so we used this lounge for an hour prior to our boarding. The staff was extremely kind, welcoming, and professional. But... The space is tiny, dark, outdated, and in really bad shape, with uncomfortable and nasty looking furnishings. There was also a weird smell. The bathroom was absolutely disgusting. There was this nasty, scary looking, black crust covered the space between where the sinks joined the countertop. It was more like a gas station convenient store bathroom. I ate only 2 bites out of this tiny ham and cheese slider and a bowl of tortilla soup with lemon water because there was no food service on this red eye to JFK. My spouse did not touch anything in this lounge. So the culprit came from this lounge... The flight was only about 4 hours, and it took me only 1 hour to get my checked luggage and clear Global entry at JFK, and another 45 min to get home. By the time I got home, which was about 6.5 hours after I had the tiny amount of food and water at this lounge... Armagon! Nonstop watery diarrhea, vomiting, fever, chills and shivering, body aches, cold sweat, severe abdominal pain. I could not even make it to the ER. 2 days of hell. I was soooo sick. Pepto Bismuth helped a little. I just started getting better a few hours ago (but not completely). I would rather pay and use another lounge at this airport. AA, shame on you for keeping this lounge in this condition. It's disgusting.
