So, i came here because i was getting really bad reactions to food. I spoke to doctor Gassen who was very stand off-ish and a little rude. I felt like like an idiot because of the way he was speaking to me. My insurance doesn't cover anything down here so i went for a consultation anyway, and decided to pay out of pocket because thats how bad my reactions were. I told them if my insurance doesn't cover the allergy test, i don't want to do it. I would rather wait two months till i go back to the states than pay $3,000 for the test. Both the doctor and the tech knew this, and insisted i get my blood drawn anyway. I said to Doctor Gassen, i can come back if the test gets approved, otherwise I'm not paying for it. He said no lets draw the blood now. It won't cost you anything. I repeated this to the tech and she too said we aren't charging you for anything, we are just drawing blood. So i allowed them to draw blood, which they never called my insurance to attempt to get it approved or anything and i never heard from them again...until i got a bill. They decided they would charge me anyway for the blood draw. I had asked and said several times before i let anyone prick me. but they didn't care when i called billing. because it wasn't in writing, and apparently i can control was is and isn't written in a file. So i got screwed out of even more money from them after accomplishing nothing being there for the "consultation" where the doctor was very rude and judgmental and spoke to me like i was five. They are another awful money grubbing doctors office. read more
