I have only seen Doctor Cho a few times but she is an excellent Neurologist. My friend sees her regularly for one of her conditions and she was happy when my Rheumatologist referred me to Doctor Cho for a test he wanted me to have. I found her to be very thorough and kind. She also takes the time to answer any questions you might have. The office is very spacious and clean. Staff is friendly and efficient. I highly recommend this neurology practice. read more

This was hands down the worst experience I've had with a neurologist. I moved to the area and was trying to find a neurologist within my network that administered Botox injections to treat migraines. I confirmed with the receptionist twice that Dr. Cao does do Botox because not all neurologists are trained to do this. When I finally came in for my appointment, Dr. Cao was not friendly and barely said a word to me during the appointment. After a few minutes, she informed me that she does not do Botox injections and tried to push every medication under the sun. I explained that I have taken many migraines medications over the years, which I listed on my intake form, and many of those medications left me with lasting negative side effects that still impact my memory and mobility. She didn't seem to care and recommended meds I had already listed as trying on my intake form. She eventually said she would recommend me to another doctor who does do Botox. She seemed disappointed that she couldn't talk me into a new drug. Their office charged me the full amount for an appointment even though I was only there for about ten minutes and received no help. They didn't seem to care that they intentionally lied to me over the phone either. To top it off, they didn't even refer me to a real doctor. They referred me to some bogus pain specialist, who when I called were trying to offer teeth whitening and diet procedures. What?? I have never experienced anything so unprofessional or deceitful. My original Neuro retired. Said they could get me in.. in 3 months! So I called Va Beach Neuro and they got me in within a week. The staff was pleasant and efficient and the Dr ( Dr L) was wonderful. Dr. Cao is great. She has managed my issues perfectly with care, concern & an extreme knowledge base of neurological issues. It isn't hard to get an appointment. And if you have an issue that needs to be addressed immediately the staff will consult with her & she will make sure you are seen. You don't have to wait weeks. This is the worst physician's office I have ever dealt with in my life. They rarely answer their phone. On the occasion that they do, they are so unprofessional. I had been referred to them by my PCP for a test. First they called me to schedule me for my referral. I missed the call and tried several times to get back with them. Once I finally got am answer they told me they didn't have a referral for me. They called me first! After playing phone tag and going back and forth with them insisting they didn't have a referral for me, I finally got hold of someone and they scheduled an appointment. This was after I pointed out to them that they had contacted me first. I had my test close to a month ago and still have no results after the Dr. told me they'd be at my PCP's office the following week. I have called them multiple times and been told they sent them to my Dr.'s office but I've spoken to my PCP office several times and they have gotten nothing. My PCP has tried contacting them as well and they never answer the phone. Then there is the privacy issue. On two occasions when I was able to speak to them, they never asked my name or verified any information to get my identity. Yet they seem to know who they were talking to. It seems as though they are monitoring their calls perhaps with caller ID. I don't know. But if I ever get my results back, I will be sure to tell EVERYONE I know to steer clear of VB Neurology. ​ read more

Dr. Chow No help what so ever! Completely dismissive of why I was there. Indifferent to my explanation. Insulted my integrity with her skeptical demeanor. No effort to evaluate or assess my issues was even discussed. The second sentence she spoke was " I can't do anything for you". The entire visit lasted less than 5 minutes. This is the first neurologist practice I have ever gone to and I am very pleased with this place. I seemingly have issues with my brain and very low blood pressure during pregnancy, so my OB referred me over to VB Neurology to assess my problems. I really really like Dr. Cao. She is very smart and takes lots of notes when you speak. On my initial visit, she was very concerned about the issues I'm having and immediately send over my necessary prescriptions and ordered me an EEG scan, which I completed this morning. The technician who did my scan was awesome. So nice, sparked a great conversation whilst covering my scalp with goo and electrodes, and generally made me feel pretty comfortable during the whole procedure. I will say this, if you ever need to have one of these scans done, don't even bother washing your hair prior.. its pointless. Anyway, the reception team is very nice and helpful as well. When you move a long distance you quickly need to find the grocery store, the liquor store, the nearest Lowes. Finding a doctor, dentist, specialist often gets pushed off until you actually need them. I was in need of a neurologist when I realized I was almost out of meds. That's right, without them I am not the same person you may know, it's not a pretty site. I got a referral to Dr. Cao and amazingly only had to wait a few days to get an appointment. That makes me sceptical. Also, the office is a bit of a trek for me but it does have it's advantages, it's very near the best shopping area in VB. It seemed I waited a long time to be called back for my appointment but Dr. Cao had been busy, she was reading through the 20 years of history I brought with me. She actually comes to the waiting room to greet her patient then walks you to her office. No waiting in an exam room wishing you had brought something to read. Many questions, a quick neuro exam and I had my script. I have one of those prescription insurance companies that requires you to do a 90 day, by mail order, for any meds that are maintanence. There was an issue because I previously had different insurance. Dr. Cao's office did a Great Job handling all the paperwork, it's a very expensive medication. This is a very uncaring practice. I would not recommend to anyone. My husband was a patient of Dr. LeMarche and Barbara Bishop for years. They did well for him but when I needed an appointment they gave me to Dr. Chao. When I did not want to return to her, they refused to let me change back to Dr. LeMarche. As a result I am waiting three months to get into another neurologist. There's a reason that you can get an appointment so easily with them. read more

Dr. Cao is an excellent doctor! But her front desk staff is horrible! Not patient friendly at all! They act like they don't want to be bothered! I was put on hold for 15 minutes, I hung up the phone and called back. No answer! When I finally got through the person had an attitude and before I could say thank you she hung the phone up! Another time when I went to the office, I stood at the check in window for at least 10 minutes and the person acted like she didn't see me! read more
