Little Island Park is a fantastic beach park with soft sand, clear water that's calm and easy to…read moreswim in, and plenty of amenities that make it a great place to spend the day. The park regularly hosts free concerts and community events, creating a fun atmosphere. There are two large, clean, and well-maintained restroom buildings, along with numerous picnic tables and a couple of grills, making it an excellent spot for a beach cookout or family gathering. Every time I've visited, there has been an ice cream truck parked nearby, and on other occasions I've also seen food trucks offering additional options. There's a small but very nice playground for children, and a sandy boardwalk that leads out toward the beach with beautiful ocean views. One thing I really appreciated was how many restrooms are available throughout the park, so you're never far from one. I also noticed brand-new tennis courts and basketball hoops. The basketball courts are adjacent to the large parking lot, but the lot is so spacious that it never feels crowded. In fact, every time I've come here, there have been hundreds of parking spaces available, making parking incredibly easy. One especially thoughtful feature is the electronic sign at the park entrance, which tells you exactly how many parking spaces are available before you even drive in. Overall, Little Island Park is a clean, well-maintained beach park with excellent facilities, beautiful scenery, and plenty to do, making it one of the best beach parks in the area.

I lived in Virginia Beach for right at two years and my condo was two blocks from Virginia Beach…read more There are a lot of activities on the beach year round and I enjoyed many of them! My favorite was the "Neptune Festival" which was around Labor Day and signified the locals "taking the beach back" from the tourists! I do like the Neptune statue on the beach! I took some free yoga classed offered on the beach, enjoyed watching professional sand sculpture competitions, professional beach volleyball tournaments, and much more! I could have sworn the boardwalk was wooden back then. Regardless if it was wooden or concrete, the boardwalk would open for vehicles every Christmas to enjoy the Christmas lights on the beach! That was always a fun time and Virginia Beach does a great job with this lighting display! It's a must see! We enjoyed rollerblading, bike riding, jogging, and walking along the beach and boardwalk. Why no fifth star? The Atlantic water is ice cold! I did enjoy the beach itself, despite the sand not being as brightly white colored as I'm accustomed to at Orange Beach, Alabama. However, I did not enjoy the ice cold water! Also, during peak tourist season, the beach gets super crowded!

I sure do love my city. VB is such a vibe and really comes alive during the summer. It still offers…read moreso much fun in the off season and truly is a fabulous place to raise a family.

I'm sharing our amazing Sandbridge wedding experience. We rented the Bella Breeza vacation home…read morethrough Vacasa Virginia Beach for our wedding day, and their team recommended Sandbridge All Inclusive Weddings. Planning a wedding from Ohio was a real challenge, but Christine was an absolute doll. She helped us with everything throughout the planning process and was still supporting us on the actual wedding day. We held our ceremony at Marketplace Beach, which was perfect for our guests thanks to the large parking lot and nearby restrooms. Frank set up a small speaker on the beach so everyone could hear the ceremony clearly, and he brought a great sound system inside our beach rental for the reception. Reverend daniel delivered a heartfelt ceremony, and our amazing coordinator Steve kept the entire day organized and calm. Thank goodness we were so nervous.lol. Our photographer Megan made getting-ready photos so much fun with me, my bridesmaids, and my stepmom while Aunt Donna kept the mimosas flowing in the kitchen. Megan took so many fabulous pictures we'll treasure forever. Chef Samuel and his catering team were awesome. Our favorite dishes were the chicken tetrazzini and the smashed potatoes station. Yummy. After the ceremony, we returned to Bella house for the fun reception party. Having the food at the vacation home made the entire experience feel intimate. Sandbridge Weddings gave us a beautiful, relaxed, unforgettable day. For anyone planning a vacation home beach house wedding, make Sandbridge your destination for sure it's so relaxing and beautiful Thanks sooo much Sandbridge Weddings along with Vacasa

Is it too early for a beach review? Nah, we need something to look forward to this Winter…read more Sandbridge Beach is a favorite and it's been probably two years since the last time I visited. Parking is plentiful and free. The City of Virginia Beach operates the beach and its guards. The beach is clean and wide. It's not as busy as the VBOF either. For surfing it's better than others with currents. Also a plus is its proximity to Back Bay Park. A drawback is that they do not have an infrastructure built up, but many consider this a plus since it's so natural. You can find a food truck on the road in for tacos named Bandino's. Come out and enjoy with warmer weather in the Spring. It's a family friendly beach, so bring the family and dog too! There are so many reasons why Virginia Beach residents feel as though they live in paradise. Our beaches point blank rock and few would dispute that the city knows how to take excellent care of them for our tourist and locals alike.
