Front desk confirmed and said cleaning is $100. At the end of the cleaning, Dr Connor came in and looked in my mouth for 2 minutes and left. I thought this was part of the cleaning. I paid $49 for his 2 minute evaluation. I spoke with the front desk manager and she would not to wave his exam fee. I feel this is a money grab and was not given accurate information. To be clear, I am happy with the dental cleaning just not the unexpected exam fee. If you want only a cleaning, I suggest telling Dental Assistant up front and have them relay this info to Dr Conner.

She couldn't use her dentures because they wouldn't stay in place because she had no gums. Dr. Caldwell placed 4 implants on the bottom portion of her mouth. She never complained of any pain during the process. Dr Caldwell listened to her, was very patient and empathetic with her situation. One year later, she can now eat everything. She feels confident, and no longer embarrassed to smile. As for the entire office staff, kudos to all of them. They are attentive, friendly, helpful and true professionals. Dr Cobos really took the time to explain where my gums were wearing down, and which areas were in danger of further tooth decay. Upon his recommendation, I decided to get 2 crowns done for my back molars. But after the crowns were placed, I couldn't wear my Invisaligns anymore that I have already worn for several years. I had to get new retainers molded. But I was grateful for this so that I could wear them on top of my new crowns and keep my teeth from shifting back to their original spots. As for the overall service at Vista Hills Family Dental, I took off one star because I felt that the reminders were getting kind of excessive. I would receive text messages to remind me of my upcoming dental appointments. But these weren't just text message reminders. If I didn't reply back "yes" or "no," then one of the front staff members would call me to ask if I was still coming for my appointment. I understand that dental offices run on a very tight schedule, and late arrivals or no-shows are never acceptable. But I think just a simple one-time text reminder is sufficient instead of requiring clients to reply back every single time. An orthodontic office I went to several years ago for my Invisaligns just sent one-time simple text reminders, with no expectations for clients to text back. I can understand if certain clients have a history of constantly running late, or who have a pattern of not showing up. For those clients, I can see why it might be necessary to require them to respond. But for reliable clients like myself who have kept every appointment, the excessive reminders are not necessary. On my first visit, after I was assessed for my dental needs, I also had to remind the staff member who brought me into the exam room that I was due for my bi-annual dental cleaning, especially when that was the initial reason why I booked my first appointment there in the first place. After I had my dental consultation with my dentist, he almost wrapped up my visit without arranging for my dental cleaning. It was only when I asked that he checked with the dental hygienists to see who he could squeeze me in with. Miguel, the hygienist, who worked on me did a great job, made me feel at ease, and cleaned my teeth. I would still recommend this dental office to my friends and family :) . On your way into the lobby, the front desk welcomes you to help yourself to complimentary coffee, water, and sometimes even snacks (like homemade cookies made by a staff member). But you can also enjoy these on your way out as well. But I just think that the reminders can be less excessive. Some clients like myself might not always be able to text right back if we're occupied with work or other tasks.

I encountered significant issues with the administrative processes at the clinic, leading to…read moreconfusion and dissatisfaction with my treatment. During my consultation, I was informed that my entire dental procedure could be completed in one sitting due to having to be off medication for a significant period of time before and after treatment. A quote for my treatment plan was provided and thoroughly explained to me at that time by Alyssa. Unfortunately, upon contacting the clinic after completing the required medical clearance form, I received conflicting information regarding the cost of my treatment and me stating I need all treatment done same day. Despite asking for the amount twice for all treatment from the staff, I was provided with a different amount over the phone, less, compared to what was communicated to me upon arrival at the clinic. I was then given a new version, which I assumed to be identical to the plan discussed during my initial consultation when they asked if I brought my treatment plan and I said no. Upon reviewing the initial plan after payment, I discovered discrepancies in the quoted amounts. At that point, I felt compelled to proceed with the treatment, despite concerns about the accuracy of the charges, as my mouth was already numb, and delaying the procedure would have significant implications for my health as I can't afford to be off my medication for an extended period but ending up will still having to find another provider elsewhere to complete treatment that was not provided even after relating over the phone and at appointment several times. I am deeply disappointed by the service provided by the rude administrative staff at Sun Ridge Smiles. Instead of taking accountability for the discrepancies, they attempted to shift blame onto the GEHA insurance representative with whom they had spoken during my initial consultation. I was informed by the office manager that communication with the owner, who also served as the dentist I consulted with initially, was not going to happen and her would be "as far I'd get." ****Please exercise caution when considering this clinic as I didn't see the past reviews with same issues regarding cost. ***

They claim they did x-rays that weren't covered but didn't discuss this with me beforehand. Also, they were billing for adult fluoride treatments that I know are not covered and never would have agreed to. If they did in fact provide this, they did it without my consent and I just assumed they were doing a regular cleaning. I just called today after receiving another bill and the lady on the phone kept changing her story about what exactly I'm being billed for. I'm not sure what has changed in the last year but they're being shady for sure.
