Hidden fee! Terrible work ethic!
I simply wanted an eye test, nothing more, and I ended up with paying double.
I did not ask for new contact lenses, and I only wanted to know if the prescriptions on contact lenses would differ or not. Then, I was 'kindly' given a few pairs of their promoting contact lenses, 'nicely' suggested to come back in a week for 'another test', just to see 'how am I getting on'. At that point, I honestly thought the eye test wasn't completed and I really needed to come back for it. Then I saw the bill, another £25 for nothing. I asked what's it for, and they told me 'it's refundable if you sign up with our contact lenses'. What the hell?! So I paid for nothing and I can get it back if I buy more things I don't want?
It's terrible, and it makes me feel terrible: an optician, being such desperate to rip their customer off, would be really honest with their test results? Or just trying to make every of our eye problem their extra revenue stream? The read more
