There are two types of people in this world:
1) Those who need LASIK eye surgery but are too nervous/poor/afraid to get it. This mob is characterised by shuffling feet, squinty eyes, non-commital grunts and pale, pasty skin. I used to be one of these sorry fellows.
2) Those that *have* had LASIK eye surgery and are now go-getting, life-living evangelists for the transformative power of the 20/20. Characterised by bright, tinkling laughter, attractive hangers-on, and gorgeous, glowing tans. I am now one of these people and I've never looked back.
Look, I'm not going to give you the hard sell. What I will say is this: if you're going to spend money on anything in your life, what'll it be? No, Craig B from Neutral Bay, the answer is not "hookers", the answer is "your health."
And personally, I got tired of winking at what I assumed were women but often times turned out to be men, fire hydrants or, in one particularly memorable case, a police horse.
