I have been going to Vision Square for about 3 years. I see Dr. Corey Burr. She is excellent. Very knowledgeable, through, patient. She takes time to explain everything clearly. I KNOW she really cares about my eyes. I was greeted by Lily. She did the eye tests and updated my chart. I found her to be friendly and kind. The wait is usually about 15 minutes. I DON'T mind if I need to wait a little longer. I think perhaps the patient before me NEEDS a few extra minutes. No biggie for me... kindness and considerationis free. I can wait. The office is spotless. The staff are neat and clean , usually wearing color coded scrubs; very professional. Dr. Burr.... you ROCK !! read more

When a painful bump on my eyelid that I mistakenly thought was a pimple refused to go away quietly, I started to panic. Then I read an article in a supplemental section of The Brunswick Beacon, titled, "The Real Women of Brunswick County." Featured in this article was the Vision Square Eyecare team of doctors, with a quote from their newest member, Dr. Heidi Martin, a part of which reads: "...I love what I do. On a given day I work with Pediatric exams, visual efficiency training, eyelid lumps and bumps..." So first thing Monday morning, I called to schedule an appointment. I was able to secure one the same day with Dr. Martin. I arrived about 15 minutes early, filled out the requisite paperwork, and was called back to start my eye exam at 11:22 am, eight minutes ahead of my 11:30 am appointment time. The wonderful assistant that took my patient information and preliminary measurements was super friendly and knowledgable. Dr. Martin diagnosed my problem (an infected oil gland on the inside of my eyelid) and prescribed a course of antibiotics to clear it up, along with recommendations for eyedrops, Systane Complete, and an eyelid scrub, OcuSoft, to help alleviate the pain and dryness while the antibiotics do their work. The entire process, from start to checkout, took about 45 minutes, and was remarkably stress free. The bad thing is answering the phone because I've called hundreds of times and hardly ever get an answer. Also, my youngest daughter was in the office at my oldest daughter's appointment. My youngest got sick on the way to the appointment and it being my oldest's first time with them I didn't think twice about not leaving her alone with a guy doctor she didn't know for a visit. So my youngest gets sick and vomits in the trash can in the exam room. The technician looks at me and asks if we need anything. I reply sure I can use some paper towels and a trash bag if possible. She immediately walks out the room NOT TO GET what she asked if we needed but instead to complain to the ophthalmologist. Which I overheard because the door was left open. She goes on to tell him that she is concerned that she can get her child at home sick and that she doesn't feel comfortable with my youngest daughter being present in the room! Excuse me? This sorry tech knew my daughter was sick before she took us in the exam room and even helped us. So why wasn't someone else asked to assist us instead? And also she returns but without anything she left to get. So you best believe I had an attitude after I was asked to leave my underage daughter alone for her exam. And when the ophthalmologist did examine my daughter her sorry assistant self wasn't even with her like I was told she would be. Just to note my daughter had to vomit uncontrollably at least 4-6 times since we had arrived. To have such a small amount of respect for me as a mother and she supposedly being a mother herself really explains volumes about her as an individual. And I pity her family knowing she has suck little heart for anyone going through what I was experiencing with my baby. read more

I completed my pre-glaucoma checkup yesterday and everything went well. I was taken right on time and all tests were administered quickly and efficiently. I completed testing and had essentially no wait for Dr. Cooke. I recommend Dr. Cooke and the Shallotte, NC office highly. read more

Having worked for several years in the Ophthalmology field, my standards are high - they were not only met, but were exceeded at Vision Square Eyecare. Behind those doors I found caring professionals every step of the way and up to date technology. Dr. Elizabeth Cooke is excellent! I feel that my vision health is in good hands with Dr. Cooke and her staff. I was there for quite a while, but it took time to pick out my glasses; it was actually nice to have time to do that while my eyes were dilating - it certainly helped the time pass quickly. I will be happy to update my review after I receive my new glasses. read more

Had been a client of Vision Square Eyecare for almost two years. Had hoped they would improve over time. Appointment wait times after arriving are very long. Expect to wait between 30-45 minutes before being seen. Total appointment time often lasts very close to two hours. Customer focus is also very poor all the way up to the Optometrist staff. It's almost as if the support staff has been programmed over time to respond like robots. They also are very poor at communicating accurate follow-up patient information among themselves and to the patient; particularly as it relates to actual interactions between the patient and the Techs who do the prep work . Then, when they ask for feedback from the patient, they only want the patient to tell them how wonderful they are. If you dare give them a low rating on any follow-up survey, you will pay a steep price. Just a heads-up here. They also have a very outdated system in use to move patients through the full examination process. When you challenge them on this, they become very defensive and let you know very quickly that you can find another provider if you are unhappy. In fact, the Optometrist who last examined me (D.W.) referred to me (in writing) as being both "arrogant and disrespectful" in a follow up separation communication. Very unprofessional behavior. Could not recommend Vision Square Eye Care for any type of quality eye care under any circumstances. read more

My daughter's (6yo) first experience. -- (Patient since 2018) It was my daughter's (6yo) first trip to the eye doctor. She was nervous going in, but everyone was very friendly and made her feel special which put her at ease. Dr. Webb did a wonderful job of explaining things to my daughter and making her feel comfortable during her exam! Great selection of eyewear too with quick turnaround time on glasses! My daughter loves her new glasses! I would highly recommend this office for all ages! read more

I have been a patient for years and Dr. Webb has always been professional and thorough. She also takes the time to answer all my questions. I recently had cataract surgery and they have been very helpful throughout the process. Heather has been especially helpful with an issue I had about the eye drops that were prescribed. Do not go to Vision Square if you where semi permeable contact lenses! I went there 5 times before I finally gave up. The contact lenses I finally got there work well vision wise but they are not fitted probably/ They move off my if I move hard or sneee. They said I can either have a good fit or proper fitting. I said I need both of course which I got back north. They have o idea how to do both. Thus if you want proper contacts I do not recommend you going there!!!! read more

Thank you Dr.Moshoures for taking the phone call from the hospital at 2:30 in the morning Memorial Day and assuring me Dr. Cooke from your office would meet me first thing in the morning even tho you were closed for the holiday .. I had an appointment at 11 am, and was asked to be there 15 minutes early. I got there 15 minutes early and sat for 15 minutes. They took me into the first room, asked all kinds of questions, did a few exam items, then brought me to another room. Did a few more exams, then said the doctor would be in. I listened to the doctor talk to a drug rep for 10 minutes, talk about contacts and some personal things. About 15 minutes later the Dr. came in, and did some more exams. Dilated my eyes, and brought me out to the eyeglass room (even though I didn't really need any glasses). I waited there for about 10 minutes till someone finally asked me what I was looking for in eyeglasses, I told them I didn't need any, and they brought me back to another waiting room, where I sat for another 15 minutes. I finally got up and asked how much longer this would be, as I took time off from work for this appointment. They said it should be much longer, and 5 minutes later they took me into a room and said the doctor would be right in. Again I asked how long, and they couldn't tell me. 7 more minutes, the doctor came in and did the last exam and I voiced my displeasure of being there for 1 hour and 55 minutes. The doctor said to expect this every time I come as they do very thorough exams. I have been getting very thorough exams all my life in Connecticut, but the longest I have every been in a doctors office was an hour (and that was for an OB Gyn that was out on a delivery). 1 hour and 55 minutes is unacceptable, it tells me that they do NOT value their patients time. I will say that everyone I spoke to in the office was very nice, and they did do a thorough exam, but it never should have taken that long. read more

I was once very pleased with my experience with Vision Square Eye Care. However, after a resent visit two months ago I will never go back. As of today, July 31 2014, I have NOT received a prescription for my glasses or contacts although I was asked to pay up front for the contact lense exam. I am legally blind without my visual aids and after my contact lenses were removed and in the trash can, I was brought another pair and a sheet of paper, I was told I couldn't put in the new lenses until I signed said "patient contact lense care contract" which I couldn't read as I am blind, I asked for the opportunity to read the information before signing and was denied that opportunity. The lenses they gave me were not my usual which I have worn for 11 years. Upon asking the physician why my contacts were changed I was told that mine were no longer being made. I would have to come back in a month, well, I couldn't wait my headaches became so debilitating I had to discontinue wear, when I went back for a second time I begged for my old contact lense type and was given a pair (so, they obviously just stopped making color contacts...who cares? I left and stated to the doctor I would like my rx now and was told they were ordering new contacts for me to try when I asked why the physician said she just thought I would possibly like this new design better. I agreed and was told I would get a phone call in a few days, days go by, no call, now we are almost into August, three weeks have passed and I got a call from the office, I would have to come in and pay AGAIN 91.75 to pick up the other pair and have another exam! I hit the ceiling and was then told "well you signed the agreement" I said yes! I did without contacts is as a blind person because you had thrown out my old contacts and wouldn't allow me to put in the new ones until I signed! She said she would talk to the doctor and call me back! This afternoon I get a call, Now I only have to pay the $50.00 "trial fee" then I can get my rx! These people are money hungry and obviously only concerned about the almighty dollar. Steer clear! Go elsewhere Oh and now I have also been informed that due to this outrageous test they performed because they could I am being charged almost $500.00 because my insurance is refusing to pay for it, a test I never asked for or was told about. So, here I am rupturing money with no contacts, no prescription and now... NO PATIENCE for VISION SQUARE EYE CARE or any associate there of! read more
