The Opthamologist took their time and reviewing my retinal scan as I have dry geographical macular degeneration, which is extremely rare for my age. He put my mind at ease and assured me that they will continue to watch it every six months, and set me on a plan of action to help me retain my eyesight as long as possible. My husband and I have been patients for about 5 years. The Mrs. Dr. was always friendly and efficient. They have moved into a remodeled office in Little River. The Mr. Dr. Did not introduce himself which I found awful. When I walked in the girls were carrying on and one was trying to hang up on someone she said she loved them so a personal call. Never welcomed me or said goodbye. A week later an eye situation came up that I knew I needed to see an Opthalmologist and I asked Coastal if they recommended one. The gal said I had to come in because I needed a referral. I knew it wasn't right but I visited and the man Doc had no idea where to send me. He was muddling around on the computer and I saw one that was accepting new patients. I was leaving and the girls told me I owed them $38, for what????? No one touched me was except to puff my eyes and I told her I had just had all that a week ago with them. She immediately seemed alarmed when she seated me. None of them knew why I was there. I absolutely denied to pay them. They did nothing!!! My husband went there the other day. He waited 20 minutes for them to call him. He was puffed and put in a room. Then a girl came in and told him the doctor would not see him until he paid my $38. He said that's between you and her. She said leave and he did! Both of us disgraced and duped. Wasted both of our time. They must be pretty hard up to muscle $38 out of either of us. They will never see our insurance again. I'm filing complaints with the state and our insurance company. read more

Don't waste your time or money at Coastal Vision. I was treated very rudely by the front desk/glasses fitter. They don't answer there phone and if you leave a message they don't return calls. Her excuse was Covid and they were so busy. The three times I was there no one else was waiting. One time for my eye exam and two times to get my glasses. The optometrist I had was a very nice and seemed like a competent young man. However my experience with the rude office personnel left me with very disappointed and I will not go back. read more

Rushed care and every time I have an appointment I have to wait for excessive amounts of time. The last time I called to make an appointment for a contact prescription refill, the man who answered the phone was rude and incompetent telling me I have in fact had an exam this year. I told him I hadn't and he argued with me that I did, in April 2022 and asked why I didn't get a refill at my exam this April. I said "it's 2023" and it still didn't click with him that he was a year behind and there was no need to argue that I had an exam this year and that I should have gotten my contacts then. I have had only wonderful experiences with the entire staff from start to finish. Everyone is very kind and professional. I was treated so rudely by the front desk person that I can't imagine being treated this rudely by anyone. It was frankly disturbing how nasty the woman was to me when I called prior to going in to pick up my own eyeglasses that were not returned to me after my exam. I drove 40 minutes in torrential rain to be berated by the front desk staff member. This behavior is unconscionable for a business like this. Very disappointing especially since the technician was such a nice, concerned professional. Highly recommended. Dr. Holt is fantastic. This is my 2nd year with her. She's so sweet and patient. She's very thorough, doesn't rush you, answers all your questions, and is genuinely there to help. We are patients of Dr. Holt & we have received good eye care & referrals from her. The reason for this review is that yesterday, a day after my husband had cataract surgery in one eye, we needed to have a lens removed from his prescription glasses. I walked in with no appointment & asked a rep, named Joe, if he could remove the lens as it was no longer needed. Joe immediately says yes! Never asked for my name or proof that indeed I was a patient. I was SO HAPPY that he did this service immediately with no hassles involved. That relieved our stress. Went to get my eye exam and new glasses. Completed the exam, found my frames and paid over $350.00 for Crizal lenses and progressive lenses. Took them almost 2 months to get my glasses back and they are not right. Went back and discussed getting them corrected, they sent them out and they are worse then ever. Then they lied to me and said "oh well, nothing more we can do" That is wrong, I called my insurance and they told me that if I was unhappy I could get an entire new pair. Guess they forgot to tell me that! will never use them again, terrible service, unprofessional and apparently don't care. DON'T USE THEIR SERVICES! read more

I had to wait a month to get in for my annual eye exam and the morning of, got a phone call that they are no longer accepting my insurance and I would have to pay out of pocket. The receptionist was extremely rude and had no care at all. You would think when one of their patients schedules an annual exam, they would verify coverage and let them know they are no longer covered. Needless to say I will make sure to let everyone I know about the disappointing unprofessionalism of this practice. read more

STAY AWAY!! Today, was the second and last attempt, to fill a prescription for glasses at this place. As soon as I opened the door, someone from behind the desk shouted, "do you have an appointment, which I did. After waiting about 15 minutes, my husband asked to try on a few frames The "clerk" asked "how much" to you want to spend. She walked over and picked up one (expensive) frame, handed it to him, never asking if they were comfortable. She continued to measure and write up the order. The frames were so inappropriate, they were sitting on the top of his nose, practically on his forehead. Except, he does not have eyes on his forehead!! At this time, I expressed to her and my husband that that particular frame was not fitting correctly and I went over and picked up another frame and asked if he could try them on. She "nastily" told me to "take them over there and put in a bin". The store was very hot and uncomfortable, so I pulled my mask down halfway (no one else was in the store). I politely told her I couldnt breathe and she asked me to leave. I refused; since the reason for being there was to help my husband find glasses. She abruptly got up and left! So we walked out. Then we went to Americas Best. The employees were very nice and helpful. The price at Am. Best was far less than what she quoted at the other place. I will never go back there again! I have also noticed several other unhappy people have posted the same experience. She is giving this business a very bad reputation. read more
