Filled my prescription many times and not had any issues with staff before yesterday. The woman with blonde hair (she refused to tell me her name and no name tag) bent my glasses. The earpieces were pressing into my skull and the glasses rested on my cheeks due to the bend. I asked if the frame could be heated and "tighten up," as always had been done in the past. "We don't have that piece of equipment and that is all that can be done." I have worn glasses for years and I know what and how adjustments are made. I have never had staff argue with me! I had fantastic service from Eleanor who is at the Rockwall Visionworks. I visited with her multiple times about a pair of glasses for my 7 year old. Both times she was very patient with him and helped us pick out and fit multiple frames on his face. When we finally decided on a pair she expanded to me various options for the lenses and helped me pick the best quality we felt my son needed and would benefit the most. I was a customer paying out of pocket and Ms. Eleanor still found a way to help me find more savings then I expected. ZERO STARS!! I walked in with a RX from my eye doctor, and what I tried on when they glasses were done was NOT correct. I of course did nor accept this poor work and 3 months later I have NOT received my credit. They KNOW they have the product and KNOW they need to give me my $ back. Called them numerous times and they acknowledge the error..... but STILL no refund. That's theft, right??? I have NO product yet they kept my money? NEVER go to this establishment. I just left Visionworks after being completely ignored my the young man supposedly working there. When we arrived he didn't greet us or ask if he could help. In the middle of us asking a question he answered the phone. He pointed to the frames on sale then went back to filling out a form of some kind. When we went back to the desk for more information He acted like we were clearly bothering him. We left. There are lots of places to buy glasses and would like my money. Very very poor customer service. We will not be back and we will tell our friends. read more

My first visit was December 2018 with my son and I wasn't going to leave a review because I understand sometimes there are misunderstandings. Today was my second visit to get my daughter's eyes checked. Again, a negative experience due to a "misunderstanding". Now I'm leaving a review for both visits! First visit- My insurance specifically states it pays for full eye exam INCLUDING first time contact fittings. After my son's eye exam we fitted him for contacts. When we finished and tried to check out they tried to charge me $50 for a "New Wearer Fee". What they didn't know is that I had called prior to our visit to confirm my insurance and was told everything was covered and there were no additional fees. They tried to argue with me when I showed my insurance recap stating "Contact fittings" and "New wearer fittings" were included in the exam. They tried to tell me they charge an additional fee for "New Wearers". I told them I wasn't paying for it and they finally agreed to just drop the fee. Today's visit was with my daughter. I called earlier in the week to ask if we needed an appointment and I was told no. They said we can walk in anytime. The door even has a sign saying "Walk Ins Welcome". When I walk in they ask if we have an appointment. I said no and they said they couldn't see us because we need an appointment. I asked why they told me walk ins were welcome. They said they were double booked and didn't have anything available. I then asked to make an appointment for tomorrow and told they were booked. I then asked, "so you're telling me 'walk ins' are not welcome, right?" The lady conversed shortly with another woman who then told me I was welcome to sit down and wait for something to open up. She then said it would probably be at least 1.5 hour wait and that she couldn't guarantee we would even be seen. Wait? What? I gave them 2 stars instead of 1 because the optometrist who saw my son was very nice and patient with him. Still, I will never be taking my family here again. read more

My daughter broke her glasses so I called in to use the warranty to get them fixed. I was told there was no warranty because we didn't purchase one. Are you kidding me?? First off this kid got her first pair of glasses when she was a year old. This ain't our first rodeo. This is however the first time we used visionworks (in network with our new insurance). I have NEVER gotten glasses that did not come with an automatic year warranty on the lenses. Walmart even has that year warranty for free on the frames. Had I known there was an "extra" purchase for warranty, I can assure you I would have gotten it! I had no clue about this nor was I offered to add this "extra" feature to my purchase. As many times as she has broken or bent her glasses out of whack over the past 14 years it would have been the first thing I did. All these things being said, I will get over it. I am so annoyed right now. I will however not be using Visionworks anymore in network or not. Their prices with my premier policy cost just as much as my no insurance at Walmart and Americas Best. If you do decide to patronize this business just be warned EVERYTHING INCLUDING WARRANTY ON THEIR PRODUCT "COSTS EXTRA". read more

Horrible service this year. For myself I get no notification of eyeglasses being received. They couldn't find it. I've gotten into an argument with one female staff with a nasty attitude over her not knowing what the heck she is doing. I go into the place to order frames my daughter and the order doesn't even get placed, now we have to wait longer. I can not say I recommend this place. Unorganized. read more

If I receive exceptional service, I'm always super impressed but never think to leave a review. This time was completely different. I came in to get my glasses adjusted, because just with time / general wear, my glasses began to sit differently and gave me dah to day headaches. I didn't even think the culprit would be my glasses, just putting it off to either stress or weather/allergies. After going in last week, I believe the team member was "Doug" (sorry - was so impressed with the experience I barely thought to write down the name), sat with me and went back and forth numerous times to shape / fit my glasses to PERFECTION. I literally got in my car afterwards so happy for the time he spent with me and listened to my concerns, and legitimately heard the words I was saying in order to help me. They were busy, but I did not mind waiting, especially after the time that was invested in me personally when it was my turn. I just wanted to recognize Doug, and the staff, for HELPING ME SEE AGAIN. This place is horrible. Kathy, the Hispanic employee helping us, was so incredibly rude. When my wife and I first visited this vision works we were asking Kathy basic questions about the glasses and prices and she seemed just irritated by us. We spent $400 on glasses and my wife was getting dizzy and getting migraine headaches by wearing them. We went back to vision works where Kathy told us the glasses were fine and that my wife just had to "get use to them". We then went and got a second opinion somewhere else and we were told the optical center on the lens was off! I can understand that there was an issue with the lens, it happens, no big deal. But why the unwarranted bad costumer service? Do not shop here, go somewhere where the employees are courteous and helpful. Like, seriously Kathy if you hate your job that much, go work somewhere else. read more

2016 Yelp 100 Challenge Review #20 I have been a customer at Vision Works for years since when it was Eye Masters. I haven't been to this particular location in quite a few years but have recently returned to make a new purchase for glasses and contacts and as it turns out sunglasses. I had a really good experience with their staff. Everyone was very attentive, professional and helpful. My transactions were very smooth. Overall, every Visionworks pretty much all carry the same merch (women: Bebe, Guess, Salsa, Gant, and some designer frames like Zac Posen, Marc Jacobs and the like; men: Nike, Gant, etc.) but the difference maker, with any business, is its customer service. I initially wanted to have my eyeglasses and contacts delivered to my home. However, when everything arrived, they called to let me know that everything had arrived and to confirm that I wanted them mailed. I actually changed my mind and decided to pick them up since I was close by and it would've just taken longer to go back out into the mail. I appreciated the nod so I could decide what was best for me at the time. I also ended up returning about three weeks later in order to exchange my sunglasses. I picked out two pairs but over time they just did not grow on me. I am lucky to have returned on day 23 of the 30-day window! I ended up picking out two other pair that I felt more happy with and that process was very smooth. I just had to come and write a review because everyone in the store is so helpful, pleasant and ready to serve. Keep up the good work Visionworks team! read more

So I went to Visionworks today to get some new glasses. They took my temp and the reading was too high according to the lady there. I understand the policy and am fine with being turned away. My issue was with what the lady said to me... she said "Come back when you feel better.... " i didn't realize the thermometers that Visionworks uses can tell if people are sick or not." I've been working everyday during the pandemic and have my temp taken everyday at work. I have not had an issue with my temp until I walked into the Visionworks store in Rockwall, TX. .....Could it be bc I was sitting in my hot car prior to walking into the store?? Could that have caused a higher temp??? All she had to say was "I'm sorry sir due to the reading on this thermometer I cannot let you in." That's all she had to say instead of telling me in front of the other staff in the store to "come back when you feel better." Needless to say in times like this people need to really choose their words carefully. Visionworks has lost a potential customer and I will be telling anyone who listens not to go to Visionworks due to the poor customer service at Visionworks Rockwall. read more

I used to love this place, until after my most recent experience. I needed some reading glasses so I came here to choose my new pair. I got regular lenses. Visionwokrs claims they already have a bit of scratch resistance, and if you want more you can get the anti reflective lense which adds more. I dont need the anti reflective as these are just for reading. My other glasses from visionworks are my regular all day glasses so they do have anti reflection. So I figure everything should be fine as long as I use only the glasses cleaning cloths, since they do claim to have some anti scratch on them already. I had noticed when I picked them up the man uses tissues to clean them. He said its fine, because its cotton. The tissue breaks up and leaves lint all over the glasses. Anything that does that has the ability to scratch. I was going to protest the use but it was too late so I kept my mouth shut and took the glasses home. I have only worn them about 3 times in the few days that I have had them. I noticed surface scratches on them. I counted the scratches. There were 4. So I took them in first thing when I woke up. The same man there was very uncaring. He was quick to blame me and my glasses cloths. He took my glasses and wiped them with that tissue again and would you know it, he returned them to me with more scratches!! All over both of my lenses!! He informed me I can get AR to reduce the scratching. He actually looked at my account and told me what I did last year, that I came in and got more scratch resistance. No, I came in and got AR because I did not like the glares, the extra scratch coating just happened to be included. I did not need him to tell me what I did last year. Different time, different situation, different glasses, and completely different purposes for the glasses. I told him it was his cloth doing it, but he refused to accept that. He told me 100 percent cotton is fine, and paper is bad. What does he think a tissue is?? Its not a cloth its paper!! So now here I am unhappy with wayyyyyy more than the 4 scratches I originally had. Oh theres like 16 or 17 little scratches now, after I returned home from Visionworks and looked the damage over. I let him know that I would not be back and my business will go to a different optical in the future. I truly loved this place when I first came there, but this is just unacceptable. I have never in my life gone to an optical that uses paper tissues on glasses. Had these glasses for just a few days and already they are messed up. There should be NO scratches on a brand new pair of glasses. There were 4 last night when I put them in the case. And like 16 after I came home from visionworks, after they used their own cleaning tissue on it. Now I will have to wait an entire year to get new lenses with my insurance. Inwould return them but I desperately need reading glasses. I have worn glasses since I was 2 years old. I have never in my life seen such scratches appear like this so soon after the purchase. I will never return to visionworks again. Never. read more
