Turnover was very quick with our Care Manager switching three times in one year. The scheduling people were great, particularly JAS. In general, my interactions with representatives of the company were respectful, but quite rigid. However, I found the rules established by the company to be very rigid especially for those of us who live with the patient. It's very stress to run a household, handle administrative issues, paperwork etc. by yourself plus remember to check in and do all of the things that I'm supposed to do within a certain timeframe. I would've appreciated more flexibility. The work gets done. It's just impossible to do it all within three specific hours.

Prior to the first caregiver appointment, Right at Home required a security deposit in the amount equal to the cost of the first appointment. They did not provide any materials so I asked what this amount is for? The explanation was vague at best. The first caregiver was 18 minutes late and Mom was billed for the full amount. It took my oversight to contact Nathan Mast JR Branch Director to get the first bill resolved. Since then, various caregivers were either late or complete No Shows and No Calls. Right at Home informed us they also provide a caregiver through the "Pocket RN" program which is paid by Medicare. We signed up for the self paid caregiver plan along with the Pocket RN. This created a total disconnect when it came to billing. I communicated the numerous issues with the crossed billing between the 2 programs with Nathan Mast Jr., Melanie Rice, Operations Manager and others. It took over 2 months to get billing issues resolved due to the incompetence of their administration with continued excuses such as, "We are new to the Pocket RN Program. At one point they even charged my Mom $1.20 in interest when she clearly had the necessary funds to pay her obligations in her bank account. Upon informing them we no longer desire to continue with their disappointing services on June 10, it took until June 24 to receive the security deposit refund after contacting TJ Henley Co-owner in which I had to drive to their location to pick up a check. We were Amada clients for the past 6-7 years. Amada is none of the things they promised when we…read moresigned up. They DO NOT do caregiver training or basic skills verification, and multiple employees confirmed to me that Amada is hiring "warm bodies" they know aren't competent and placing them in people's homes. Amada caregivers relieved us of over $1800 in food, $3000 in damage to my custom-built cabinets, charged services for themselves (nail salons, beauty salons, etc.) on our credit card, added our card to a Venmo account and charged $500-worth of the caregiver's bills to our account. Cleaning supplies and household décor disappeared weekly. Caregivers may or may not show up. They arrived late, left early, or spent entire days on their phones while my loved one was ignored. Caregivers left her in bed alone all day rather than doing prescribed exercise or providing company. Her condition has markedly declined under Amada's care, and what has been lost can't be recovered. They've abandoned my loved one without notifying me. Several even brought small children with them and let them explore our home without supervision. Only 1 in 10 new hires show for orientation, and it doesn't occur to Amada to figure out why. Caregivers so frequently no-show when scheduled, you'd expect Amada to have backups and contingency plans but they don't. They take ZERO responsibility to get someone on site without fail, instead blaming everyone but themselves. We did enjoy 4 of our caregivers very much, and they were really great. Over the years, we averaged one new caregiver per week. Statistically, Amada is successful with placements 1 in 65 attempts. That's unconscionable. Amada also manages resident care services at McKenzie Place, where my loved one used to reside. My strong recommendation, based on years of experience with them, is to stay as far away from Amada as possible until they accept that THEY are responsible for their jobs getting done without excuses.

It's a bite but affordable for average home healthcare prices. When my father came home from the hospital, the VA left him stranded for almost 2 weeks. We called everywhere and this place took us as self pay clients and got a cna to our home within a day. Right away they accommodated our needs and all the staff were professional, experienced, well-trained, helpful and compassionate. They never complained or embarassed the patient due to changing diapers. The cnas always arrived on time and never had difficulty finding our home. They helped us with referrals on how to get help from within our community on supplies and things we needed. We never had a "no show". Whenever we called the office for whatever reason, or no matter what time of night, they were always available. You would have to leave a message, but your call was returned ASAP. The employees this company hires are people who want to help and want to be in this line of work. A lot of them are going back to school to move up, but they were so helpful. No home health care is going to be perfect, but this place was wonderful. We hated to discontinue care but the VA referred us to another company and would not let us stay with them. Needless to say, the new company referred to us are not near as good or professional as maxim was. Maybe its the way maxim runs their company, but the employees all seem so happy.
