This place lacks a comfortable waiting room and the staff was less than cordial at the desk. Medical staff in back was good. Be aware that the staff will set you up with payment plans without your consent. The organization has still failed to submit timely to the insurance company and it has beed three months since the surgery. They were asked to submit documents and still it has not been done. I have been a patient at the Lindenhurst Vista medical center for years. I have seen my primary doctors come and go. This last year was the worst. The front office staff came from Grayslake, and all had attitudes. They don't smile, they don't acknowledge you. And ask for something, it is always a problem. Phone calls not returned, doctors not given messages, prescription orders not filled. If you are not happy with your job leave! I did. Goodbye. Or should I say Adios!!! read more

The doctor misdiagnosed me twice in the span of 10 minutes. The attending had to come in and deliver accurate diagnosis after I showed him the results of the X-ray and CT scan just taken. Long waits for error riddled medical care. read more

I came here after a car accident and was released with a clean bill of health. 2 days later I was brought by ambulance to highland park hospital and was admitted with a pierced lung due to 3 broken ribs from the car accident. This is to all ems workers out there, if ever I'm in an ambulance again and your thinking of bringing me here just leave me on the side of the road to die PLEASE. To any police officer just shoot me before you bring me here. This place needs to be closed. I wouldn't bring a dying animal here. read more

People were nice but nobody gave me anything to tell me about how to care for my injury past 'change the bandages once a day and go back to your doctor in 2 days' so i called after i left to ask about getting a note for the only shoes I can fit in and they told me I absolutely could not wear them. After they watched me walk out in them. They were patronizing over the phone and I can't even fit in anything else because of where the laceration is on my foot. Also was not asked about my job or told wether or not i could drive. I drive stick and i have been having a horrible time walking so I can't imagine how I am going to handle going back to a retail job. Thank you vista for getting it done within 2 hours but good lord do I feel stupid for being stressed enough to go to you in the first place and feeling like I could call with questions. read more

Around midnight on 3/31/2013 I visited the emergency room at Vista Health East for assistance with a contact lens problem with my left eye. I was in need of simple assistance in the form of a pair of hands and extra lighting. After filling out forms and waiting for 30 minutes, even though no other patients were in the facility, I became frustrated with the lack of attention and left without receiving any assistance. I discussed the fact that I shouldn't be billed a service charge since I wasn't seen by a doctor. I subsequently was billed $471.40 and after 4 months have negotiated a reduction to $190.80. Additionally, I never received a billing in the mail and although I was in contact with hospital management, they never were able to get my address correct so I would receive a statement of any type. Then they referred the matter to a collection agency to complicate the situation further. Although I've paid the bill via phone with a credit card through the collection agency, I've yet to receive a statement showing the matter closed. My conclusion is that the Vista Health System in north eastern Illinois is totally incompetent. My parents who are in a registered nursing facility in Lindenhurstbhave had similar experiences with their system. I strongly suggest finding any other health care provider you can! Their system is a prime example of what is wrong with health care in America! read more

Emergency room has dirty appearance. It looks like the place you go to to develop a worse infection / ailment than when you came in. I went in due to a problem with my ear as I was unable to get an office appt with an ENT on short notice. They tried to discharge me without paperwork, and also while there was still medical instruments inside of my ear canal. Apparently they had forgotten about it, and when I asked them to take it out, I was told to, "just take it out when you get home". They were shoved so far into my ear canal I was not physically capable of "taking it out when I got home". So I made them remove it in the ER. WORST CARE EVER! read more

If I could give a 0 I would. Took my 2 year old in for X-rays of his leg after a suspected break. The sign on Grand Ave said the wait time was 4 minutes. We waited 5 HOURS with a crying and screaming child in pain. FINALLY got into the room to see a non-enthused doctor who said "he's not really telling us what's wrong so I'm not sure". Had X-rays and was told it could be anything from a pulled groin, pulled glut, hamstring, sprained ankle or foot. 2 days later and not trusting the ER doctors diagnosis we took him into Luries children's hospital in Chicago where he was diagnosed with a broken tibia (shin). Doctor at Luries said Vista took a single vision X-ray of a 3-dimension object so they didn't see the break from their X-ray. What a waste of time & money. read more

Went to the Lindenhurst ER today after an unfortunate incident with a hedge trimmer. My right middle finger had sustained a rather nasty ragged, long and deep laceration. I was quickly taken care of, first by Tyler, ER tech; Kelly, RN and then Dr. Weisler. I was treated professionally, respectfully and quickly. After leaving, with my numb, sutured and bandaged finger I asked my husband about the ring I had on my finger. The ring had to be removed by the doctor to suture my finger. My husband said what ring??? I dont remember receiving any ring but only a piece of gauze ..which then he said he threw away in the garbage bin! During the excitement of events he had not realized there was my ring in the gauze. My heart sank as this was an heirloom belonging to my mother. I quickly called there while we drove over to, hopefully, retrieve my ring. Tyler, answered and stated he would start looking for it right away in the garbage. When we had got there he said he had already looked for it but didn't find it. :( I told him I wasn't leaving without it and would gladly look for it ourselves. He said he would try again as well, as did Kelly, who was so confidant that they would find it. We sat in the waiting room trying to look calm. After a brief time both of them came back coyly with my ring!! My heroes! A great team Vista has in Kelly and Tyler who went well above and beyond their call of duty...I will gladly recommend Lindenhurst Vista ER to everyone. Thank you again!!! read more

I agree with Tom S. Please do not take me here if I am in an ambulance. Drop me on the side of the road also. I took my nine year old here because she slammed her hand in the car door. It was bleeding a lot and she said she couldn't move it so I was worried it was broken. We waited in the waiting room for 2 hours, they took her in and did an X-ray and then sent us to waiting room for another hour after they said it would go fast after the X-ray. Then they put us behind a curtain in a "room" for another 1.5 hours. So it's 2am and I ask the nurse if it will be another 1, 2, 3 hours and she said she couldn't tell us. We ended up walking out after 4.5 hours. There were people there but it was not crazy busy. One guy in the waiting room before us. There were 2 doctors on and I never saw one of them. The other sat at a desk in the center the whole time maybe playing candy crush, not sure? So now I'm trying to get the X-ray because I know they are going to try and juice my insurance co for nothing. Transferred back and forth several times then snotty receptionist at medical records said it doesn't matter if we have good insurance....sorry, it does. Go anywhere Else, insurance permitting! Administration obviously has no clue how to ensure patient satisfactory. From scheduling, check in, registration for a simple ultrasound, we ended up waiting an hour before being told we had been overbooked and was not on the schedule. Really? What took so long to figure this out and do something about it! Appointment was for my daughter which had already been rescheduled twice because THEY lacked getting the insurance authorization which she found out about by arriving and finding out at that point. No phone call! After waiting the hour, Check in desk ended up putting me on the phone with their "superior" which in turn had no good explanation on how this sort of thing could occur and her solution was to reschedule once again. I think not! Luckily the US Tech was nearby and could hear the situation and assured me he'd attend to us as soon as he was done with the ER case. HE gets 5 STARS! Thank you Dom read more

Last Friday, 7/10/15 just before 8:30 pm, I went to the Vista ER in Lindenhurst to get some stitches for a finger with a gaping tear. Took 10 minutes to get me signed in. 15 minutes later, I was assigned a room. A man and a woman came right into the room. Both looked at my wound, said it looked nasty. The woman, a nurse, started asking me questions about medications that I'm on, any allergies, etc. She then hands me some extra gauze and told me to keep pressure on the cut, leaves the room and says she will be right back. 45 minutes later, I walked out to the nurses station, where 4 employees were hanging out. Laughing. I asked for a needle and thread so I could stitch myself up. The blood had soaked up all layers of gauze by now. They thought I was joking, so they laughed. I was dead serious. Finally, the man who I saw in the beginning, said he'd grab the doctor on duty by the collar and bring him to me as soon as he saw him. 5 minutes later, the doctor arrived. I didn't know that having stitches was so painful. He gave me multiple shots, but I could still feel some of the stitches going in. It made me wonder if that was my payback for being tired of waiting. So, after he was done, he said the nurse would be right in to give me a tetanus shot. While I was waiting, I talked on my cell phone to my husband for 20 minutes. When the call ended, I got up and walked to the hall, where the patient in that room and his wife were standing. They were waiting for help too. I heard a lot of laughing during the whole time I was there, but didn't see too many people. There were plenty of employees, but I only saw them at the nurses station. For 5 stitches, I spent 2 hours and 20 minutes there. I saw my regular doctor this afternoon to remove the stitches. He could not believe the shoddy job that was done. I wasn't given enough stitches, which would explain why my finger kept bleeding. He asked me where I went, I told him Vista in Lindenhurst. He groaned, and said NEVER go there. It's terrible. I totally agree. This is the third time me or my husband has been there since they opened, and not one visit was satisfactory. They have the slowest moving employees I've ever seen anywhere. This is an ER!! People expect fast treatment. You will not get that there. read more
