He provides the patient with a very comprehensive explanation of what their "diagnosis" is, and he puts it in terms that you (the patient) can understand. If you are looking for a drug dealer, you best move on, because your medication is monitored with extreme scrutiny!! Your medication is counted, blood levels checked and urine screen. Doctor Workman treats everyone like family and this is a rare find in this day and age!!! His staff is the best of the best, from nurses to office manager you would never ever ever find a complete medical staff as good as they are to the patient!!!! I've known the doctor and his staff for 15 years, so I would ignore the two negative comments. My guess is they didn't get the type of medication that they wanted or just didn't want to go through the intensive screening to become a patient. One person said it correctly, "this isn't a pill mill!!" He tries his best to fix the issue causing the pain, rather than just passing out medication (that's like putting a band aide on cancer.) If you truly want help with pain control and the mental stress it causes, Dr. Workman is your best option. You will have to go through screening and that's time consuming and after you become a patient, you will be monitored closely. If these don't bother you then you truly want help. Doc works outside the box, so he may prescribe "amino acids" instead of name brand medicine. I'll give you an example, I get Sentra-PM instead of Ambien. Sentra is natural where Ambien isn't and it causes significant side effects, Sentra doesn't. One more, I get Theramine instead of a lot of different pain medications. Theramine is found in turkey and the drug is like eating a 25lbs turkey. This really helps with pain control and it's harmless, whereas pain pills have a million different ways to make things worse. Don't get me wrong, if narcotics are needed then you and the doctor will discuss this. My favorite is the "trigger point injections" these are amazing!!!! Once you've completed your round it almost takes the pain completely away!!!! Don't get these confused with those (IMHO) EXTREMELY DANGEROUS AND HARMFUL epidural injections. Trigger point injections and in house and done with ultrasound. It's amazing, you can actually see what is causing the pain and you can watch it explode once the injection hits the spot. I found it amazing!! Bottom line, I could keep writing about how good the doctor and the staff are at NeuroPain Clinic, but I'll stop here. If you need a caring doctor that knows what he's doing then call tomorrow and set your appointment!!! Like I said, he addresses physical and mental pain they go together and better if they're treated together.

Every year I go for a wellness visit and I plainly make my appointment for a wellness visit but yet they bill my insurance for a regular visit and charge me my co-pay. Now I have let this slide because when I talk to the billing dept they tell me there is no way they can change it for my insurance because the doctor used a specific billing code. I only go once a year for a checkup so I would rather pay the copay as to continue to argue over facts. Now this year was very different. When I made my appt I was told they have a new office and that the laboratory is not finished so my blood work would not be drawn on that day that the doctor would write me a script to have that done at the local hospital. But on the day of my visit Dr. Fields explains that I was told wrong she could have gotten blood work that morning. Well I could not because I had already had coffee and food so yes Dr. Fields did write me out something to have my blood work at a local Tennova Healthcare. Well they lost my blood work and test results and after a month I call to get it and no one could help me. I needed a refill on my thyroid meds but they kept telling me my results were not back. Instead of being helpful or trying to look my results I was told they did not have it. Long story short they did have them but it took 5 people and to finally ask for a Manager to get my results. So I let that slide too because I say to myself they have a new office, new computers, etc. But no, I got fooled again. They send me a bill in the mail a couple of weeks later saying I need to pay my copay because the credit card machine was not working that day I was in for my appt. My response is I should not have a co-pay because my visit was a wellness visit. After holding for some time the office staff told me Dr. Fields said they will not charge me for my office visit but I had to pay the copay. None of that made sense to me because my office visit is covered at 100% once a year for wellness checkups. My appointment was in Jan. 2014 and it is now almost May and I get a bill from the lab stating I owe money. After contacting my insurance company they explain the doctor did not code my visit as a wellness checkup so the customer rep with my insurance tries to contact the billing dept for Jefferson Family Physicians. Again another rude customer service rep who stated there was nothing she could do because the doctor put that code on there the day of my visit. I said you can look at my records. I am in that office once a year for a wellness. Why is it my fault your staff cannot do their job? I asked for a specific appointment and even made it my responsibility to make sure the blood work was sent to a lab that my insurance accepts. So I have did everything I needed to do to schedule and go to a appointment, get blood work done, make sure they have all required information but yet I am still stuck with 3 separate bills for one office visit that should have been covered at 100%. I am very disappointed with the customer service at this office and the attitude that it is not my problem it is yours. I am a young female who has no health problems so I can only imagine how the older people who cannot understand or are not able check up on invoices as I am because I am pretty sure they are getting overcharged. It is sad that you finally find a wonderful doctor but cannot go back because the office staff does not care to do their job or at least be helpful enough to realize or find a mistake on their behalf and fix it.

Peggy, a NP there, wrote me a paper prescription for Ritilan LA for a specific pharmacy. I went and the the pharmacy didnt have enough in stock for the prescription. I called 17 pharmacies and finally found one that could fill a month supply. I then asked Peggy to please send the prescription to that pharmacy since they could fill it. She is refusing to write a new prescription for me, saying that I need to go to the one she wrote down originally. 3 days later of dealing with her nurse and the office manager, and they still cant seem to get it thru their little heads that the original prescription is useless to me because that pharmacy cant fill it. So my daughter continues to be without her meds. terrible people. unsympathetic and unwilling to work with patients. I finally just fired them and moved on

Staff was efficient and kind. He performed surgery on my hand in short order, even working around my difficult work schedule. Surgery day was surprisingly stress free and again, efficient. His hand physical therapist, Jenny Pugh, is demanding but very understanding and helpful. The issues to consider post-op were covered by Dr. Branham and his staff completely. i am 3 months out from surgery and am very pleased. Highly recommend Dr. Branham and his caring staff.
