Dr Lars Gunnar is the best. Now that he's gone (I saw him at his old location), I'm not sure who to see that is in the area.

This review is regarding the physician (Dr. Ronald D. Levin) who administers the EMG NCS test at Vital Form Chiropractic. This review does not address the chiropractic physicians at this location. If you are sent to Vital Form Chiropractic for an EMG NCS test, RUN THE OPPOSITE DIRECTION and request literally anyone else. My fiance is deathly afraid of needles and generally does well if I am in the room with her or she has music or other tools she uses to cope. Dr. Levin was a callous human being, and short with both of us the entire time. He would not allow me in the room with her (stating that "he needs her alone"), he told her that she could not use music to cope during the test, he was short and rude with her through the entire procedure, and when my fiance requested an extra minute to lay on the mat due to light-headedness, he declined and told her to get out. My fiance appeared in the reception area in tears. We left the building and she was sobbing as soon as we left. The oath of the physician entails that they "Do no harm". This extends beyond physical pain and includes social-emotional pain. Dr. Levin seemed to intentionally give my fiance a terrible experience, and is arguably a terrible physician as a result. An untrained monkey could provide better bedside manner and client service. Please do yourself and your loved ones a favor and book your EMG NCS tests elsewhere. read more

Dr. Gunnar is an absolute life-saver. After many years of dance, and many more to come, my body has been beaten up quite a bit. I was in extreme pain when I first went to Vital Form about a month ago. Slowly but surely Dr. Gunnar is training my body to become stronger and healthier with the Gonstead approach. He is extremely attentive to your needs and truly cares for his patients. He is personable, extremely knowledgeable, and has a huge heart for people. He also is extremely fair when it comes to scheduling and budget. I have been to several chiropractors in my lifetime and none of them compare. This holistic approach has been radically changing my daily walk and I am eternally grateful for all Dr. Gunnar has done for me! Lars is great! As a strength coach, youth performance trainer, and former collegiate track athlete, I'm an avid lifter and train 5-6 times a week. I tweaked my back and couldn't lift from the ground nor squat heavy. I came to Lars and his goal was and always is to fix me as soon as possible. He did his own tests, then gave me an x-Ray, then my adjustment. I felt better immediately after my first adjustment. I was able to lift, he just had me limit pulling from the ground, but squatting felt better right away. Every appointment, Dr. Lars does a detailed check up examining all of my vertebra for inflammation. Then adjusts me accordingly. After a month of seeing Lars once a week, I resumed to full lifting and I actually improved my snatch. Now I see him once or twice a month to make sure my body is performing at optimum capacity, and feel better every time I leave his office. I've been to other chiropractors and have been told to rest for multiple days or to always just "take it easy." Was often in and out of other offices without feeling better or even asked what my daily routine is- just a quick muscle stimulation, ice or heat, then a seemingly non-specific adjustment and on my way. Lars is worth my 40 minute drive for sure. Highly recommend him. read more

I started seeing Dr. Gunnar on the recommendation of several members of my local running club and am so glad that I did! Aside from his technical expertise--which I expect as part of the minimum requirements for being a healthcare service provider--he has the patience and compassion that truly separate the "great" from the merely "good" doctors. I've had lingering back and migraine issues for YEARS (unsurprisingly worsening in tandem with the increasing amount of time I've spent hunched in front of a computer screen), but can happily report that, on a typical day, I am almost totally discomfort-free! I've been a regular patient for just over a year now (although my visits are more on an "as needed" six-to-eight week basis) and couldn't be happier! read more

Me and my partner have been seeing Dr. Lars Gunnar for the past two years and we couldn't rave about him and his technique more. I am a yoga teacher and a very physically active individual with hyper mobility in my joints and spine. I get knocked out of place easily but every single time I see Lars for a tune up, or to help me with a more serious injury (I've had several) I leave feeling so much better and confident in my bodies ability to heal. I leave every appointment feeling clear and more energized. As I get older, I've noticed it's easier for me to hurt myself but whenever it does happen, I feel supported by Lars and his ability to help heal. He is specific, detailed, knowledgeable, very confident and extremely kind-- all qualities I look for in a chiropractor. Dr. Lars is a fantastic chiropractor. Based on previous chiropractic experiences, I had my doubts about seeking a chiropractor to deal with aches and pains that sneak up from time to time in my neck and shoulders. However, my wife (who was pregnant at the time) was referred to Dr. Lars and his pre-natal adjustments helped her to feel more comfortable. His approach is very sound and he takes his time to find the root causes of discomfort stemming from spinal misalignment. Once the adjustments have been made, you can almost immediately begin to feel a sense of relief. I've now seen Dr. Lars on multiple occasions for issues such as post-Tdap shot inflammation in my arm and sciatica. He has even adjusted our newborn baby to help ease her fussiness! read more

Dr Gunnar treated my son. He is 6 1/2 years old and wet the bed most nights. My pediatrician told me that he would eventually grow out of it and there was nothing I could do, but it hurt to see him so embarrassed about his bed wetting. I read somewhere that chiropractic care could help bed wetting in children, and thank goodness Dr Gunnar knew just what to do. After meeting my son and a few measurements, a quick, gentle adjustment has made all the difference for my son! He wakes up dry every morning and he's so proud of himself. If I knew it could be this simple I would have taken him there long ago. To see him wake up so happy instead of feeling the shame of something he couldn't control- it means so much to me. Really Appreciate Dr. Gunnar. Had a rib out of place and he managed to fix my issues and get me pain free! He's really good as well at telling me which exercises to avoid. Dr. Gunnar is a true healer. He was able to help alleviate my long-term back pain and increase mobility in my hips and ankles. After one session I regained rotation in my neck after years of not being able to fully turn my head to the left. I strongly encourage anyone who has a fear of going to get adjusted to seriously consider seeing Dr. Lars Gunnar for Chiropractic work. I have a had an interesting athletic background. I was a ballet dancer for fifteen years, I played roller derby, and I currently practice mixed martial arts. So I have had some wear and tear on my back for a quite a while. I was always a little afraid to go to a chiropractor just because of the stories I had heard of other people's experiences. So I would only go to see one if I was in absolute agony which happened one a couple times. This time I was in too much pain to even be comfortable sitting down. My boyfriend was the one who told me about Dr. Lars and urged me to go see him. I was so glad that I made that decision. This has only been my second session with Dr. Lars and I have never felt so well taken care of by a doctor in my life. I haven't felt this accommodated even by my other doctors. I got an X-ray and an adjustment for a great price that was incredibly reasonable and most importantly I found out what was going on with back and my shoulder. Even though I don't live in the area, I've been going to Dr. Lars for a while because he is worth the drive. He's helped me with my back pain and got me back to normal quickly. I can't say I would've had the same experience with a different chiropractor. He stands out because he takes the time to understand your spine and talks to you in a way that makes you understand what's causing your pain. He took an x-ray on my first visit, which I appreciated because then he wasn't just taking a guess on how and where to adjust me. Let me start off by saying I've been getting chiropractic care most of my adult life. I've never heard of the Gonstead technique until I met Dr. Lars. I found him a couple months ago and my over well-being and pain has improved by 80 % since I've started being treated by him. Dr. Lars is super detail oriented when it comes to assessing your spine and I've learned SO much about how important spine health is to overall health, things I NEVER knew until I found him. In my 15 years of getting chiropractic care no Dr. has taught me anything... how can that be?! I love being educated so that I make changes in my daily activities and that is what Dr. Lars is all about. Giving you the tools to be able to heal your body vs just coming in to get your spine cracked which is all I've ever experienced in all my years of chiropractic care. I've never before felt hopeful about being able to change the condition of my spine and that is what Dr. Lars offers. Hope and a plan. He will work on one specific area of the spine at a time, correcting one issue and then moving to the next. He's a very genuine and knowledgeable person who really cares about your well being. I have twins that are 8 and do about 21 hours of athletics a week. He has helped them with issues they've had by aligning their toes, ankles, wrists, elbows... you name it! He's helped keep my whole family healthy and happy and he's helping my kids by practicing preventative care on them so they don't have issues as they get older. If only I had known all of the things that Dr. Lars has taught me recently years ago... I probably would not have ended up with a spine injury in the 1st place. Dr. Gunnar is absolutely incredible! I have always been hesitant to go to a chiropractor, and never thought I even needed to. After going to see Dr. Gunnar my daily life and overall being has completely changed. Doing Crossfit daily, I never realized how much stress I put on my back. What I thought was a normal feeling of slight pains here and there have been completely fixed. Dr. Gunnar takes the time to explain every single thing he is doing, and what is going on. He takes x-rays and studies them all while showing and explaining to you. He listens to YOUR needs and addresses them. Not only have ALL of my workouts improved, but my daily life has as well.
