I didn't enroll in their course but I purchased their textbook to study for the Hawai'i broker exam. After I received a waiver from the Real Estate Commission for the education and experience equivalency as I am a licensed broker in the State of Florida and a licensed managing broker in the State of Washington, I called their office to order their textbook so I could study for the state portion. The woman who answered was very helpful. I paid approximately $40 for a copy including shipping. I passed. I am a licensed broker in the State of Florida and a licensed managing broker in the State of Washington. Once my papers are approved by the State of Hawai'i I will also be a licensed real estate broker in my home state of Hawai'i. What more can I say? Thank you to Vitousek Real Estate School for their textbook. It is partly due to their textbook that now I am the first person who is a licensed real estate broker in the State of Florida, the State of Washington, and soon the State of Hawai'i. I recently attended the Vitousek realestate school and felt very informed upon completion. Wayne is a very good presenter & had other realestate professionals assist him to give a very thorough understanding of the variety of realestate options for employment. Wayne's assistant Christine was there at every class and helped keep the moving in a very positive direction. We had a great class of students and had a Blast learning a new career. This is THE place to get prepared for the realestate Test. Wayne & Christine even offered us students extra study sessions on their "own" time to make sure we were prepared before we took the exams. I highly recommend Vitousek Real Estate School. I just finished taking the course a few weeks ago and already passed the license test and got my license. Wayne is an excellent instructor and does a great job of mixing basic real estate information with personal experience. That makes it much easier to remember the information when you take the licensing test and later when you need to know it as part of your job. The school recognized that the required classroom time was not enough for the students to absorb all the required information so they also offered additional non-mandatory class time at no extra cost. When the course was over, Christine, Wayne's assistant instructor led a few study sessions to help us better prepare for the licensing test. I believe that Wayne and Christine truly care about the success of all their students and go the extra mile to help us succeed. There was a good dynamic in the class with everyone getting along and helping each other. I'm sure many of us will remain friends. This is the only real estate class I've taken so I can't give a comparison with the rest, but I can't imagine anyone else doing as good a job as Wayne and Christine. Took this course with Wayne Sadoyama as the instructor and thought he was an awesome teacher. He taught at a reasonable pace and made sure everyone understood what we were going over. If he felt the class was not getting it he would go over it again until every person understood. You could tell he sincerely wanted you to succeed in passing the class. He also offered to have extra study sessions for students who were struggling with the class. At our last class Wayne told the class that if they were unsuccessful in finding work elsewhere that they can call him and he will hire them! He was very down to earth and just an overall good person. I really enjoyed my time spent here learning about real estate. I would definitely recommend to anyone interested in applying here to make sure Wayne is teaching the class! read more

Take her class if you want a grouchy, irritable teacher who clearly should not be teaching any longer. It was clear she didn't want to be there and even told her morning and evening classes that they were like a heavy dead weight to her. Students were afraid to ask questions because she would get on their case making them feel bad, plus just ramble on wasting class time. She said she is Republican and used the class to put down Obama and tried to add fear to our voting choice. She also told the women in the class that the Commercial real estate was "A boys club" and not a good area to go into. There's more, but hopefully this information is enough to make a better choice because it was such a bad experience. Hopefully the other students will take the time to add a review. read more

I took Paige's course this year and was absolutely satisied with the results. We were told precisely what the class would entail and what would be required from us as stdents from the get go, and her outlines and material were spot on in terms of what was on the actual state and nationwide tests (I passed the first time). If you attend class, listen carefully, and take the advice given by Paige in terms of study habits, test habits and tricks to help recall key information you're a shoe in on the actualy licensing tests. However, if you fall behind whatsoever dont expect to pass. As is the case with most education! I think Paige and her school do a terrific job of preparing potential real estate agents for a career in real estate and passing the required licensing tests. I am one of many satisfied students and would recommend the course to anybody interested in beginning a career in real estate. Its very easy to come online and write a negative review about somebody you dislike in terms of political perference or because youre disgruntled about not doing well in a class. Instructor Wayne and his assistant Christine are fully committed to their students' success. In addition to class time, they make themselves available outside of class to provide assistance to those that may need the additional help; I found this very impressive! I decided I wanted to learn about real estate, as it is such a large portion of most people's overall wealth--especially in the islands. As such I decided to learn via this school. The instructor Wayne Sadoyama was so knowledgeable, helpful and passionate about the profession and asset class that I decided to go beyond instruction and actually sit for the test and got my license. The school made me for than prepared for the exam. If you want to be confident for that you need to go to this school. I now practice part time--finding it very enjoyable. After being in one profession for 17 years I thought it would be time for a change. Vitousek Real Estate school seemed to have fit the profile that I was looking for. The first couple of weeks that I had attended class were great. We had covered a lot of subjects with class discussions which made it easy to comprehend. Unfortunately I was unable to attend the rest of the classes because of issues that had come up. I still was able to study on my own, and if I had any questions, needed insight or support, Christine Adderley was available to help out. I ended up passing the class with no problem thanks to the flexibility and consideration that Mr. Sadoyama and Christine had given. I have no regrets for making this decision and would highly recommend Vitousek Real Estate School to any individual who wants to explore something new in their life. read more

I tried my very best and hardest at this Vitousek course, and apparently that was simply not enough. Paige, the retired broker that conducts this class just sits up there and blabs about a few of her real estate stories in her hey day apparently in the 80's and 90's, but you can tell she barely wants to be there. Nobody ever reads through the book as a class, you do that at home when you have an additional 3 hours to invest to boring reading every single day for 15 weeks. Infact, the final 10 classes is conducted by a couple of her real estate budies who at least get you motivated or cover moral and legal issues. But you get absolutely no personalized attention, so throw that notion completely out the window. Your class never covers weekly course topics questions/answers or even trivia. If I was to chose between chunking down another $700 for this class or taking some internet course, I probably would've benefited from an internet course because A) It'd be cheaper B) already understand that this class NEVER works as a group or team. She's a broker with a lot of experience but a bad teacher. I failed weekly quizzes every single week except for one the entire 15 week course. And I studied my butt off. And in the end, if you fail the final exam, as 80% of the students do, they talk you in to paying more money to take another exam in hopes you'll pass that one. Chances are, you'll fail that one too. I'll give Vitousek Real Estate School 2 stars because the classes were held at a nice shopping villa, but the location is dangerous at night since it's 1 block away from a very popular homeless shelter. Their shopping carts lined round the block like a parking lot. read more

I called last week and again today Vitousek Real Estate School in Honolulu, the lady on the phone(sorry I don't know her name) was warm and welcoming, I was very impressed by her clear explanation, very polite etc.... What's more, she remembered my full name and email address and what I was asking for. She is a great value for Vitousek school. I first considered Vitousek RE School when a friend that is a RE Broker recommended them to me. I was going to do the Online Version, thinking that I would be able to learn at my own pace . . . etc. I'm so glad that I decided to do the classroom version. There's just no replacement for person-to-person interaction and the complementary teaching styles that Wayne & Christine have together (plus their extensive combined experience). The RE Industry can be ruthless or it can be rewarding - they set a tone of ethical, kind and considerate behavior. Giving 'real life' examples, tips on how to remember the differences between similar legal terms/concepts & really caring about each student's success are things you can't get from just a book & maybe some videos. We also had guest speakers that are leaders in the Industry give great advice about the many ways to be successful in Real Estate. The class size was perfect for discussion, keeping the learning on track & getting to know your classmates/now friends. As some of the comments mentioned, Wayne & Christine are committed to helping you be successful - it's your commitment to your own success that will get you to where you want to be. My advice: come to class prepared, read & do the assignments before class and learn the 'language' of Real Estate. I can't wait to take the License exam next month! recently took my real estate license course from Vitousek Real Estate School. There were several choices, but after asking several practicing agents I knew, they all said Vitousek was the _only_ one. They were soooo right, and I am really happy I made that choice. Paige is incredibly knowledgeable about the topic (but then since she wrote the book, I guess she would be), and guided us through a fun but difficult class. She has a great sense of humor, but definitely doesn't put up with whiners. I learned everything I needed to ace my exam, and to now get started in a new career. Thanks VRES! read more

I am not one to normally write negative reviews ... but this is one occassion that demands it ... please read this through if you are considering enrolling in this course. This class is NOT recommended, there are better real estate schools than this, one that are honest and actually worth tuition. First off, don't be fooled by the term "school", Vitousek is a "business" in it for money and Vitousek blatantly falsely advertises to increase enrollment. I am a 4th year student in medical school who decided to try taking a real estate class on the side just to learn about the market. Paige Vitousek is deep down a very unpleasant person. For someone who has been running a course for so many years and has been in the field for decades, I expected much more from someone claiming to be so reputable. Paige seems like a great person at face value but when it comes down to money, she is scathing and did her best to belittle me when requesting a full refund due to her false advertisement. She threw insults with "professional" terms such as "stupid" and "BS". I was appalled that she could treat any former student like that... it was totally uncalled for. No one should be judged for their reasons for wanting to withdraw from a class; especially a class that preempts students into enrolling through deceit. The bottom line is that I would NOT recommend this course to anybody. It may have been running for over 36 years and with the customer service and genuine care the instructor possesses I cannot fathom why. There are other real estate schools out there, run by people with better hearts and intentions I am sure. To reemphasize the point: Paige Vitousek falsely advertises that they offer a full refund upon completing their course and failing the State Exam. Paige has not offered this for two years and have failed to take this down from their website in attempts to dupe people into enrolling in her course. What makes the whole propaganda even shadier is that she will only reveal this small fact on the first day in class ... upon which she will try to charge you over $100 for attending. She claimed that she didn't know that this was on her website, to throw words back ... that is "BS". To prove my point ...check out the website yourself under "guarantee"..it is probably still on her site. Anyway, it would be in your best interest to stay away from this instructor. Why would anyone want to be enroll in a course run by a woman who lies to you before you meet her? Be forewarned, but most of all good luck in your endeavors. read more

Wow I just read the last review and I would like to say WHAT A PACK OF LIES!!! Paige Vitousek (who actually wrote the real estate book most schools in Hawaii teach from) is a very experienced knowledgeable teacher. First of all the class is only 6 weeks long not 15!!! Also it only costs $500 not $700!!! There is parking right outside the pacific design center for the night time students not unsafe at all!! In Paige classes we go over ever chapter in great detail as well as the outlines, and if she does use personal stories it only helps us students to understand the some times very tedious material we HAVE to study for the State and National exam. She prepares us very well for the test. I personally studied very hard for her class and I went to the National and State exam and it is a very vary Hard exam, I studied Paige's book and notes and I passed it first time which I was told by the PSI tester very few people pass the first time. I will warn any student going to any Real Estate school you will not and cannot pass the PSI exam unless you study your butts off!!! Its nothing to do with the School. Vitousek School of Real Estate is very professional and an excellent school I give it 5 stars. All my class mates passed the class exam and we were very pre pared to take the PSI exam. I would like to thank Paige and Vitousek Real Estate School for their excellent program, study materials and support to me helping me Pass the state exam First Time.
