I've Clint since I move to Utah over a year and always having very good experience. BUT the last time I was there for normal manicure and pedicure NO GEL( the person who took care of me) wanted to do it fast . Very poor job! I will never come back these type of places if they are not going to charge you a lot of money they don't care about the job they preformed. 4 days and this is how it looks.

If I could give this place 0 stars.... I would. I used to go here when I was pregnant with my daughter, the ppl that worked there at the time seemed decent, but overly priced. I decided to go back a few months ago and paid well over $120 for a full set that fell off the next day, and a terrible pedicure that resulted in me going to the emergency room and having a severe ingrown toenails removed. The man who did my pedicure, began clipping away at my toenail. He realized he had made a mistake and all the sudden 20 minutes in I had a mysterious ingrown toenail just show up. So he decided to attack my toe and fully go for the ingrown toenail he just created. I was literally jumping out of my chair, cussing and crying out in pain. The owner or whom seemed to be the owner asked if I was okay in which I replied obviously I'm not, and he put his head down and went back to reading his magazine. Not only that, but my pedicure consisted of having my toenail destroyed, a paint job and some hot towels thrown over my legs. WORST PEDICURE EVER. Worst full set EVER. Seriously, save your time and money and go somewhere else. Or you'll end up with a hefty hospital bill on top of it. And then they had the audacity to send me a 10% off my next visit. Try 50% off and I MIGHT come back. A few suggestions, train your techs a little better, require certifications you know? Don't just let people walk in and say I can clip nails give me a job. Work on your hospitality, I felt so I welcomed it made me sick. And do better work for the prices you have, or for the love of god. Lower your prices. People that are 10x better don't even charge half of what you do.

I feel a little sorry for nail technicians these days-they are expected to be artists in addition to doing nails nicely. Knuckleheads like me come in with a picture we saw online of some beautiful nail art and expect someone to be able to recreate it. That's hard. I stopped by for a fill and was quickly welcomed in and the nail tech got right to work. He listened to my request to shorten my nails and change the shape-and I was very happy with how they looked after he filled them and get them all ready to become a canvas for some art. He gave it his best shot, but ultimately one of the other ladies in the shop had to come take over for him. She wasn't happy with some of his work and removed the paint and started over. I appreciate her perfectionism, but it did take a while for her to declare victory. Ultimately, I'm happy with how they turned out, even if it really wasn't anything like the picture. I'll try to pick something a little simpler next time. read more

Im usually happy with my experiance, but this time, the salon opens at noon on sunday and they showed up to open the doors at 12:10. As we walked in the two stylist did nothing but talk to each other NON STOP! I went in for a pedicure and It started of with cold water, When I could interupt their chatter, I had to ask 3 times for warm water. I had to wait a while for them to get a password to open the computer to pay. Today was an extreme disappointment. I usually get my pedi's and Mani's to relax and I felt like this was the worst experiance of all time. There was no care today for the customer. read more

I love coming here for Pedi, nails and eyebrow wax. I love everyone here always greeted with a smile. They are all very nice and do a great Job. I love Moon so much and I like to request her if she is not available, I ask for Nina. How ever I have had all of them and they take pride in what they do. I will not go anywhere else this is my happy place. Very clean and relaxing I have been coming here for years and highly recommend them. read more

So I get a full set, and the whole time she is rough with me hurting my fingernails. And I shook it off thinking nothing of it, then she cuts my nails super small, I asked for long, and then had to redo my hand. Was huffing and puffing the whole time and being much more aggressive to my hand. On top of that, small nails and horrible service it was $70. Do not recommend! read more

I just left this place, my dad who's visiting from France needed one rough spot between a toe on one foot polished off. No massage, no nail polish, no lotion, just a little skin scrubbed off. He has no bunions or any nasty business his nails are clean and trim. They wanted to charge him $52 for a deluxe pedicure plus tip. While I was explaining to the one guy in the front, the other one doing a manicure said to me, you pay the $52 plus tip or leave. This is the place I go to and take my entire visiting family. He wanted to pay for the spa pedicure without an actual pedicure but it wasn't good enough for them. So I went down the st on 7800 and 4800 and we were greeted beautiful and accommodated. I'll never bring my business to this place ever again. read more

Is you are looking for a last minute nail place, you can generally get a chair. They are fast. I'll give them that. I like to get a pedi that is relaxing. This is not a relaxing pedicure. It'll do. But it is certainly efficient. My pedi took 30 minutes. They seem to spend more time on a manicure if that's what you're interested in. They do acrylic, shellac, and standard. The place is a little run down, could stand for upgrading a few of the chairs. The staff is friendly enough, but chatty with each other rather than the clients. My tech was tough on my feet. It hurt, frankly. But my friend got a nice and gentle tech. In a pinch, they'll do. read more

Gave them a simple photo to go off of and they still didn't take the time to even put effort into that. Extra thick nails. White is over the blue. Which I did point out before she started. Didn't care. Also the lines were not straight and has streak marks. Definitely not worth the $70 I paid. read more

Adorable salon, excellent service! I was in town visiting. Last minute, my little sis and I decided we were overdue for pedicures. I called up one of my local favs hoping they could get us both in 30 min prior to closing. They didn't even hesitate, said come in within 10 mins and they'll take care of us. They didn't rush the service. They just smiled, sang while they worked, and treated us with relaxing pedis. Warm suds, foot scrub, cuticle cleaning, awesome foot/leg massage, and hot towels to top it off. All of this service while in the comfort of nice back massaging chairs. I first discovered this salon over five years ago. They gave me a pedi when I was six months pregnant. The owner took the extra time to show me TLC for my exhausted prego feet. My massage lasted forever! I've been hooked since and haven't been disappointed. To top it off, they are great at the nail art and will paint flowers, plaid patterns, polka-dots, etc...you name it, they'll do it. Everyone needs to be pampered in life. Pedis are the best way to feel revived. You won't be disappointed! read more

Just moved to Apts near Jordan Landing and found this gem by chance. When I arrived I was concerned because I saw 4 male nail techs. In the past, whenever I've gotten males, they tend to be very rough and hurt my fingers and toes. Not the case. Jason did my acrylics. I got exactly what I wanted. & i must say I'm picky when it comes to my nails. Also, excellent polish application. Phil did my pedi, & oh lord. He was very careful not to hurt me and applied the polish very well. That man was putting me to sleep with his foot massage. Very, very relaxing. If you enjoy paying $30 for them to change your polish this place is for you. Their sign says $25 for a pedicure yet we were charged $30. The entire pedicure took less than 20 minutes. Will never go there again. read more

Me and my sister and best friend went into get pedicures.. my nails are so cute and look so good, but they scrubbed the tops of my feet with a hard scratchy sponge, and it tore up my feet. I can't even put shoes on because it burns so bad. I have physical scrape marks on the top of my feet and they are red and irritated. Like I said nail work was great, but they didn't pay attention to my feet and me being me thought it was just part of it and it was suppose to hurt. But it's not suppose to hurt and I'm not suppose to have scratches all over my feet either.. read more

They are friendly but that's it. Over priced for 2 pedicure. 15 minutes for a $40 pedicure. Please read reviews, they're correct! Please don't waste your money. Then they don't tell you about the $2 tool set you're purchasing. I will be reporting them for that little slay of a fee. Not a good business. Stay away! Rip off central. ****and the lady tried to scrap off a scab I had on my toe! What in the world???? Leave it alone DUH. Go to Ryan's nails. read more

This was my first visit after a friend had been telling me about it for a few years. I decided to check them out today and I'm glad I did. The salon is clean and the atmosphere is relaxing. Nina does great job but the guys in there are creepy! Especially the owner... He yells out telling you what you want when you walk in the door!!! Even tho you know what you want when you come into the place. He Sits and stares at the customers... And the manicurist....Seems to make the manicurist nervous.. I think they feel like they're being critiqued. Very creepy...I think it may be family owned... And the family is like "The Munsters"!! Just don't let the "guys" do your Mani Pedi... Because they after definitely CREEPY! read more

please please do not get your eyelashes done here!!!!!!! first time getting my lashes done i was so excited and now it was the worst experience i have ever had it took her not more then 30 min to do my eyes were burning so bad while she was doing it she held my eye open the whole time she put them under my real lashes so close to my eyeball my eyes got real red,swollen and burning so bad i couldnt take it anymore so i had a friend of friend who trains people on lashes to come and take them off when she looked at them she said omg!!! she used nail glue to glue them on so she tryed for a hour to get them off and could not so as the glue got crusty i crumbled the glue off and now i have no eye lashes please this lady could have made be go blind so hope you read this before you go i wish i did read more

Took my daughter's there and agreed on a price and style before hand and paid before hand... I left them there. When I came back they didn't do what was agreed upon. As soon as we agreed on the price and such they pushed the girls in and wouldn't even listen to them after I left. It would be nice if they spoke clear enough English to understand them. They are very pushy and do not listen, plus they did a hack job and made one of my daughters bleed read more

When I arrived they informed me it would be a 30 minute wait, which turned into an hour wait. Once I finally was seated for my pedicure, they left me with my feet soaking while they finished up with other customers - probably about 15 or 20 minutes. This frustrated me as I was on somewhat of a time schedule. I went with the deluxe pedi, which included salt scrub, lotion with extended massage and parafin dip. It felt amazing! They really did a good job here. Once I dipped my feet in the parafin, I ALMOST forgot the ridiculous wait - it was heavenly. My original plan was to get the deluxe pedi along with the deluxe mani. Normally, salons do these at the same time. At first I thought they were just busy and would get to me when one of the nail guys (yes- they were ALL guys) was done with the other customers. They finished up one by one, but never started the mani. I decided to ditch the mani since this was already a 3 hour affair. I will probably not go back to this place unless I intend to spend an entire day there. read more

But there were several things wrong that I'm just not used to. First, they massage over the blanket. Normally, the massage is skin to skin. Second, I wasn't asked to turn. Not once. I was on my belly the whole time. Third, the music was so low that I could hear my own breathing and the massage therapist's breathing; the room has a weird light to it, making the light yellowish and feels more like an old house. Lastly, I normally don't care about gender but why assign my husband a male? I think they should ask for preference like other places. All in all, they were quick to get us out to pay. They didn't offer any water or tea afterwards and before paying, we were asked if we wanted to schedule for a future date. Just feels like the opposite of what the experience usually is. I also didn't notice they were a chain. I would highly recommend getting massages at Basalt Day Spa in sugar house. It's the best.

I had been up all night with a stiff neck and shoulders, and booked this place for a massage the next day. I was excited to find something last minute, and my wife had been before and had a good experience, so I was optimistic. The check in process was smooth-fill out a brief form then was taken back to a quiet room to prepare for the massage. The lighting was low and there was nice music playing-everything looked to be pretty good. My massage therapist reviewed my chart and I explained where I'd like her to focus. Typically, a massage will start out slow and relaxing, then build up to working tough areas. In this case, her movements were fast, abrupt and overly repetitive in the same area. It became comical how she was passing over the same spot so many times-I began to count to distract myself. She got up to 41 passes along the same concentrated area of my back (not even where I had asked her to focus) before she moved somewhere else. It was kind of like when my well-meaning 17 year old gives me a foot rub and stays in the same spot the whole time while daydreaming off in the distance. Today I have bruises in those spots where she went too hard for too long. (And again, barely touched my neck or shoulders.) Obviously, other people have had great experiences here-so maybe I had an "off" night or perhaps my expectations were misaligned. But since I've had wonderful massages elsewhere, I'll just schedule those places instead.

DO NOT GO HERE, THEY ARE AWFUL. If there was an option to put negative stars, I would. I walked in and the guy didn't even look up from his phone while he told me to sit in chair #6. I sat there and then waited for the old guy to get back from smoking his cigarette. I pick my color and tell him which one I want and he yells at me telling me it's too light. He begins to file my nails while glaring at me occasionally while repeatedly yanking on my arms and yelling at me to relax after he was filing into my skin and drawing blood. He continued to yell at me throughout the whole process to the point where I was so close to just walking out. When I went to pay he raised the price $20 more than what he had originally told me. All the employees were very rude. The nails they gave me are in NO WAY what I asked for. This place is not worth your time and definitely not worth your money. Run while you can! read more

V-J nails salon is one of the better nail salons I have been to for several reasons. Their services are priced reasonably. The place and their practices are very clean. The owners Vicki and James are very warm, nice ,professional people. They do the extra mile for their customers. Customer satisfaction is valued in this salon. Vicki is quite skilled in nail art. She really knows her stuff and is really good at helping customers on what may suit them for nail color, art etc.. They also do brow/lip/chin waxing services. This is a nail salon I would recommend to others and I definitely would go back again! I hope by writing this review that other people will decide to go to their nail salon as well and try their nail services as well. read more

I've gone to nail salons all over salt lake & Davis county, & VJ NAILS is THE VERY BEST in the business!! The owner Vicky did such an amazing job on my eyelashes & waxing my eyebrows!! Nail tech Jason has won me over with doing the VERY BEST manicure and pedicure I have EVER had!! If your looking to get your beauty on this is the only place to go!!! I typically schedule my appointments with Vicky; she pays attention to detail and asks you questions along the way to make sure that you end up with a beautiful set of nails. It was a great experience overall. I did a walk in and i got in a seat within 10 mins! Me and my friend got a french tip and it only took an hour! They talk to you a lot and make sure you like how it looks, the environment was very friendly and the music was calming overall a good vibe. read more
