This is our first time using their services and it has been a nightmare. We normally file our taxes…read moreonline, but wanted to use their services because of some changes in our tax return and we wanted to make sure that everything was correct. They assured us that everything will go smoothly. This year (2020), we received a notice CP81 stating that they have not received our tax return for 2017. I immediately called and spoke with Carolina T. and she advised that the system crashed during the time they filed and she said she will issue a refund. She also advised that she will re-file the same day (7/23/20) and she sent me a confirmation email that it was sent. I called the IRS again, hours and days later, and they advised they did not receive it. When I called back to Carolina T. at the CPA office, she indicated that it was filed and it will take some time for it to show up on the IRS side. Well it's now 11/20/2020, and we received another letter from the IRS. The same notice CP81 indicating that the 2017 taxes were not filed. In Summary, I don't believe the story that the system crashed and somehow lost our information or the filing didn't go through. If that was the case, why weren't there blast email or notice sent to people indicating this. Also this is the 2nd time they advised they filed electronically and apparently it still did not go through. I waited to write this review, because I honestly thought this was an honest mistake and out of their control, but now I realize, this is not a good business to work with. Although we did receive a full refund back for their services, this issue is still not resolved, and more and likely we'll probably be paying back interest. When asked if they will be paying the interest, she stated (back in July), that the refund should cover the interest cost if any. This is unacceptable. I was better off using Turbo Tax or H&R Block. I paid the higher amount for ease of convenience and quality. I received neither.

The consultation went great, so I hired the firm on June 1, 2025. Unfortunately, everything went downhill from there. A few weeks after onboarding, I noticed nothing had been updated in QuickBooks. I followed up several times, but each time I received vague responses or no response at all. Given that my business had only been operating a short time, there shouldn't have been much to sort through, yet months passed with no progress. As the tax deadline approached, I again followed up--only then did I receive an email stating I owed over $10,000. This made no sense because Ashley and I had never even discussed my tax situation. After expressing my frustration and insisting on clarification, she eventually discovered several errors and misfilings, which brought the liability down to about $5,000. She assured me that once tax season passed, they would finally get my QuickBooks cleaned up. It is now December 8th, and nothing has been done. My books have not been touched since June 1st. I had a one-on-one meeting in October to try to resolve this, and I sent multiple messages afterward asking for updates and explanations. My last message plainly asked why I was paying a monthly fee for services that were not being performed. I never received a response. Today, I officially terminated my relationship with the firm. I strongly do not recommend this firm. If you want communication, accuracy, or even the bare minimum level of accountability--look elsewhere. After reading the reviews, I decided to go with Meyer Books and Tax Services.  I got all my…read morepaperwork together and wrote out everything that took place during the year.  Melissa drove out to my home to pick up my paperwork and advised it would be 2 weeks.  After me reaching out to check status, I finally received my taxes a day before 3 weeks. I opened up my tax returns and it showed I owed almost $50,000.  I immediately contacted Melissa with questions I had regarding Capital Gains.  These questions were regarding the dollar amount that would be excluded before being taxed as income, etc.  She told me to give her my questions and she would get back to me.  I felt as a tax service she should have been able to answer these right away (red flag).  Shortly after I receive a text telling me I can breathe the issue was fixed.  I now owed close to $4,000. The next morning, I sat down and went over the tax returns.  I normally do them myself so have some knowledge but I had several things that took place this last year so decided to hire a CPA.  Sent an email over asking to provide me the breakdown of how she was getting a few of the numbers.  Noticed donations weren't showing, general sales taxes weren't adding up, etc.  She replies to my email and I pick up the phone to talk to her to help avoid miscommunication.  I ask where the commissions I paid to sell my other house are?  Calculating with her as we spoke to what the line item should reflect.  We hang up the phone with the understanding she will be emailing me the corrected tax forms, etc.  I open them up and AGAIN the number is wrong!  I call back and her response was we got to talking.  Then I see she has the wrong year I purchased the home I sold (she put 2020, when it was 2010) (which could have caused major issues with Capital Gains). I am not kidding when I say I probably had to reach out 4 or 5 times to have things corrected.  Then I get the bill.  I was really surprised she charged me after my taxes basically went from me owing almost $50,000.00 to me owing a little over $400.00, BY MY DOING.  I advise her of how I feel and her response was "dually noted".  Had I not had any tax knowledge I would have sent the IRS a check for close to $50,000.00.  Appalling!
