My experience with this recruiting company started out very promising. Both Jamey (TX based) and…read moreTodd (San Ramon) were very communicative, friendly and upbeat during my process while under going screening and interviewing for a position with a specific start up. After my in-person interview with the company the co-founder asked me to come in for a second round later that week and after that it all went down hill from there. Suddenly my salary, which was discussed from day one, was too high and I had to come down $10-$15k. A friend of mine recommended me for this job after she turned it down herself and the salary was well in my range, even more. But I had been laid off, hence why I was looking, so I assume that's why the salary suddenly dropped. After all, an unemployed person must be desperate and will take anything. Wrong. But they didn't tell me the salary issue at first. Instead I waited two weeks from my first interview for my second to be scheduled and was told the company was really busy with a big contract deal. Sure, I can understand, so I waited as Jamey was supposedly working on the date for my final interview. But I never heard back. When I finally got in contact with them then I was told the real issue (money), which could have been address a long time ago. After mulling it over, I really believed this job was a good fit and the salary cut was ok. I called Jamey back the next morning, as he instructed, to give me my decision if I wanted to continue with the process. I left a message saying to keep going. He never called me back. If the company decided I wasn't the right fit, or found someone even cheaper I can understand. But to leave me hanging for a week, then not return my final call is disrespectful and unprofessional. Just because the economy is making some job seekers desperate (which I am not) and the company's seem to have all the power, it is no excuse to treat a person as such. Even if the issues, lies and lack of communication was due to the company doing the hiring, not TalentMine, they still have a responsibility to update the candidate as best possible, and certainly not just dump them like an immature junior high boyfriend. If you're looking for a job, def look elsewhere for your recruiting needs. Things always work out for the best, as I got an amazing job at a top company in Silicon Valley for my desired salary. Their loss is my gain! :)
