Urgent care is an accident waiting to happen for anything that is not basic. OrthoNY and Cardiology Associates of Schenectady have walkin hours, so that is appropriate as needed. She is extremely thorough remembers what we discussed during my last visit and has been very accurate in her diagnosis. On a side note she also remembers my family members and always asks about my adult children who live out of state. This is a very busy practice and if you have a minor problem and need to be seen that day the nurse practitioner is always available, but if you have a more serious concern as I recently did Dr. Cotugno will find the time to see you ASAP. Turns out that was not the case as it was limited to an EKG, which was performed by a person reading from a manual. Office manager apologized as they have new people. In a later conversation the next day, the doctor also apologized while offering me the same excuse though refusing to order the tests from an outside provider saying I should go back to the surgeon, who himself advised me to have my provider perform them. Today I received a call from Family Medicine of Malta with the results of my lab (blood) testing. I never had blood work done there! They confused someone's blood with me, who never had any blood drawn. Oh My!

As if the doctor has the beginning stages of dementia. At the very least, he did not take careful enough notes to remind himself of a conversation he had with his patient and the reasoning why he prescribed a particular treatment plan. Decisions made following a thorough, lengthy discussion during visits, he would prescribe medication, one would assume based off of his professional medical expertise, only to later insinuate that I somehow 'tricked' him into him prescribing a particular medication. Finally, as he begins the process of retiring, he hires two young ladies who should not be in the field of medicine. Young, condescending, belittling, unprofessional, and would reverse an established treatment plan on a whim. No discussion. No replacement treatment, just stopped because they just didn't like it. If you've never found yourself in this type of situation with your established medical team, I will tell you, it is terrifying. There is nothing you can do or say. As your new, forced upon you physician/PA/nurse, they hold all authority, removing you off medication that you depend on as part of your care. Absolutely do not trust this practice. It was an embarrassing and humiliating experience. I was embarrassed for them. Akin to a group of children playing doctor. Clueless and dangerous.
